I notice all the dbt groups are extremely expensive and only cater to upper classes how should poor / lower class people seek DBT programs and or treatment?
a family member or friend can teach/create the lessons with a textbook you can follow a recipe a Michelin star chef writes, and make delicious food it's alright to be afraid, it always feels that way at first
This is whole suite of lessons and im a regular person too, i think it really helps. Out all the therapies its practical and down to earth which is exactly whats needed through and past trauma. Use this resource wherever you can get internet connection you know, library etc, whenever you can. Take notes and do the exercises, teach others. I hope it goes well.
@AndreTheAstronaut I agree - these skills seem important but sometimes seem hard to access financially. There are books available on DBT that are useful and more affordable, but face to face therapy can be more effective. I found this video very helpful still. There is also program called "Family Connections" that is helpful for families of loved ones with BPD (children/partners) - it helps to explain BPD and incorporates DBT skills. This program is free for anyone to do, but the organisation who facilitates it (National Educational Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder) for donations from families that are able, to help fund the program for others that can't afford.
This is great! 👍
