Anyways, I worked on this line for one day, like thrown into the deep end. It was assembling smoke detectors, and because I couldn't keep up, there was a backlog of alarms on my table. I wasn't aware that they can get scraped and damaged left on the table so all my alarms were deemed faulty. I remeber the manager coming over and looking at everything and I knew I was fucked. When I got home, I got a text message saying they didn't need me anymore. I was always so embarrassed about it, but now that I'm older, I realize wtf did they expect? @@mattburkett9419 Have you used a rape roller? tape gun. Whatever the fuck you want to call it. Like someone else pointed out, you can get ones that are extremely smooth and then get one that doesn't move at all. Used them before. Some are easy. Some just have too much tension and don't work. My guess is he had one that didn't work all that well. You could see it was putting too much tension on the tape by how the end of the box with tape on it was starting crush a little. Even something as simple as a tape roller requires practice in order to become fast and efficient at using. You'd be the type of guy to fire someone because you haven't give them more than 5 minutes to practice and get accustomed to the equipment that they're using.
What's funny about this is the guy that fired him, guarantee he wouldn't be able to hit the target numbers in his first day either. The only time you get rid of someone that's slow, is when they've been adequately trained, had plenty of practice over the past week and still suck at doing a simple task. @@onelessowl amen to that! IF you can produce numbers that are equivalent to 2 or 3+ people, then ABSOLUTELY you should be paid that!! But honestly, I've been literally laid off for being in the top 2% to 5% of the company in goals/production #'s, and because I was making a lot of commission (again bc of all the business I was bringing in to the company), I was making "too much" and was told they could hire 2 or 3 other people at a lower wage to offset my pay.... And I'm like you've got to be kidding me! I hope those 2 to 3 people could match my energy & production, but in that line of work, I highly doubt they got that in return, especially shipping that phone/desk job overseas to India. So I laughed and was like good luck with all that.... I trained a few of the people from India that they replaced me with... And not one of them could secure a single contract bc no one wanted to hardly talk to them.... But when I got on the line right behind them after they placed the people on hold, I closed with the client, and they were like how did you do that?! That was awesome. I didn't want to be mean & explain the obvious reason why, but it's truly the reason why.... So in the end, the company goes & hires 2 to 3 people from overseas to pay them way less than I was being paid, but also the job requires results for the company, so if they couldn't close like I could (again top 2 to 5% in the entire company every single month), then in the end, the company didn't realize how stupid they were being. They assumed a false notion, which was oh 2 to 3 overseas people should be able to secure the same or more contract numbers as this top performer & we can pay them less and save money.... Nah nah son, your assumption was faulty, and so not only did they lose me and many other top performers, but they lost their aces on the numbers we were bringing in, bc our "replacements" couldn't. I don't get some companies logic or should I say ILLOGIC! They don't need to get fired. They fire themselves when the business inevitably fails because they keep over hiring people who aren't needed because they are too cowardly to fire the "under performers" (They're fine at the job but the boss is just super spoiled and believes they deserve better because it's everyone else's fault but their own). So instead they will hire 4+ extra people to make the "peasants" fight over their minimum wage position as if it were worth fighting over in the first place. This way surely the "underperformers" will quit on their own and I won't have to go through the confrontation of firing someone I just don't like but pretending that there's a professional reason behind it. So then they end up paying wages for multiple people who are basically just getting paid to look pretty and the business just goes bankrupt if higher management doesn't intervene and "let go of staff" that they themselves hired when the positions were filled anyway. All to avoid confrontation because they really are that pathetic. I swear to God man you are creating some money hungry power hungry cold hearted men the way you are treating young employees.

The woman needs to be the supervisor,,, the supervisor needs to be thrown in a rubbish bin somewhere. The young man should have a experienced person working with him who happens to be on their day off, so they can be on a one on one. And the complete job training needs to be revised. The so-called supervisor who terminated the young man, needs a do not rehire, under any circumstance put next to his discharge papers. And the young woman needs to be moved to supervisor,,, since there is an immediate opening position available. In the decision making, and being that this was filmed.,, the young man should be apologized to on behalf of all management.

He is clearly being intentionally slow and clumbsy to see how the manager and other workers react. I bet he noticed how the other workers seemed to care and try to help with pointers but they didn't have time to really make themselves heard. Then the manager shows up and straight up fires him on his first day because hes a bit slow at picking things up. That right there told him all he needed to know about why the turnover rate for his company was so high (im just assuming it was) and he now can replace this shitty manager with a better one. This is just poor training. For starters the woman cannot train this guy if she is in fear for her job due to quotas.
