    Thanks for watching my first impressions! I will be taking the bike to a trail centre soon so subscribe to be notified when I upload this. I plan on doing plenty of MTB videos in the future, so if you have any ideas as to how I could improve please let me know in the comments. Ride safe!

    Great review, been after one since they announced and now my c2w scheme is open there’s none in stock! Cheap forks can be super heavy, lost an easy half kilo off my current hardtail going from a Recon to Reba.

      @DJFXC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Yes it looks like they've only got a couple left in some obscure stores around the UK, hopefully they'll get some more in stock soon. I believe the Judy forks are ~2.4kg, so some easy savings there. The wheelset is quite heavy as well (~2.5kg), so I recon it's possible to shave 1.5-2kg off the bike in total!

    I have watched loads of MTB videos, and your review here is excellent. So much so, it would have been nice had you gone further with a walk round etc. I subscribed immediately. Thanks.

    Good honest review in my opinion, been looking at getting one of the normal Bizango’s for the past couple of weeks but I’m steering towards this one now

    • @DJFXC
      @DJFXC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! I think depending on what your riding, the carbon version is worth the extra spend for the upgrade in components. If you just ride trail centers it might be worth getting the normal one and using the money saved on a dropper post, but I'd definitely try and test ride both if possible!

    • @iKermitTheFroGx
      @iKermitTheFroGx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      DJFXC yeah I agree with that bit of extra money for the sake of upgrades down the line but I will try and give both a go if I get the chance

    Swithland wood, Leicestershire? Thanks for the review. Thinking to upgrade from the Carrera fury but not sure it's a big enough upgrade. Similar weight, lose the dropper post, newer components... Undecided

    Little known but of info, the bizango carbon actually has more similarities to the voodoo bokor than it does to the normal bizango

    • @DJFXC
      @DJFXC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, I wonder maybe weather they named it after the Bizango due to its popularity and colour?

    Hi, interested in your thoughts as I've just bought one. I've switched the tyres for my favourite Continental Race Kings and gone tubeless for cross cross riding/ singletrack which is what I mainly do. Also fitted a Brand X dropper post (£100!) which works a treat. I agree it feels fast and stiff but like most hardtails I wouldn't smash it through rock gardens etc. As for weight, I think most measurements relate to medium size bikes. Lighter wheels would help but 29ers need to be strong. I fancy putting on 32mm stanchion Rockshox Rebas as some stage. Gerry

    • @DJFXC
      @DJFXC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gerry, thanks for your comment! That's a great tyre choice, i've tried the race kings on previous bikes and got on well with them. How did you find converting the wheels to tubeless/ what rim tape did you use? I've just converted mine (latest video) and had a real problem getting the rims to seal. I found that the rim profile is such that its difficult to get a good adhesive contact patch. I agree, some Rebas would be a great choice for this bike, ill keep my eye out for a good deal on one. Cheers!

    Great video. I'm looking at a 2nd hand one at the moment. I'm 5ft 10. What size frame is yours? And what would you size would you recommend? 18 inch?

    • @DJFXC
      @DJFXC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Paul, mines a size L and i'm 6ft. It fits well but is probably on the upper end of what id use for trails without a dropper post. I would imagine 18inch should be fine based on what i've found with mine and the sizing info on halfords website. I hope this helps and enjoy the bike if you decide to go for it!!

    Hi, I bought it after watching your review, it's great. Got it from halfords, unfortunatly there was no adequet person to help with matenance, I need a headset and halfords would not give me proper specks of what I need, perhaps you know where I can get details or you have had come across changing yours? Thank you in advance

    • @DJFXC
      @DJFXC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I'm afraid I don't know what the headset serial number is, although I do know it will be a 1-1/8" tapered variant. I have had a few problems with mine that may require a new headset, if I replace it ill let you know what to replace it with! In the mean time, it may be worth going in to your local bike shop as they have been far more knowledgeable compared with Halfords in my experience.

      @@DJFXC thank you for a reply, i got my bike from halfordfors and can say that they not very competent with true mtb. So I did take it to local shop and they pointed out a snapped top head bearing cover, the crack was invisible unless you upply pressure on bars, its made out of plastic and looks a very cheap and unrelyeble part so will replace with alloy, not sure if it snapped during ride on during my assembly of fork.

    • @DJFXC

      Thank you! I have seen a few people run droppers on this bike and there is a free slot for it on the internal cable conduit, so I presume it’s compatible!

    Hi - great review, very useful thanks. A couple of question..at 5'10 I'm between medium and large. Would you go up or down a size? Also, I know the modern trend is for a noisy/clicky freehub, but I find these irritating. How loud is this one?

    • @DJFXC
      @DJFXC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for your comment! I’m 6ft on the size large frame, and it does feel like a big size large. Of course it depends on your individual anatomy, but at 5’10 it sounds like a medium would be more suitable. I can tell you for sure that the freehub is very quiet and has more of a buzz sound than a clicky sound. Hope this helps!

      @@DJFXC Thanks for the reply; that really does help. I've been searching for months for a fast 29er that can do a blue run where needed. Almost all of them have the super loud hubs that drive me potty.

    • @DJFXC
      @DJFXC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I think the only problem is that the Voodoo wheel hubs aren’t the best, I’ve had to replace the rear wheel after only 500 miles. I’ve gone with a DT Swiss replacement which is quite noisy - not ideal, but people will hear me coming at least!

      @@DJFXC What is the weakness with the voodoo hubs?

    • @DJFXC
      @DJFXC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@phillipharvey6789 The halfords website says they are sealed bearings, but they are actually the cup and cone type. While this isn't normally a problem, I was finding I had to tighten the cones after every ride which was really annoying. I have seen people commenting on my videos and the Voodoo facebook page with the same problem unfortunately :(
