I travelled on the Caledonian Sleeper way back in 2008. Still had the 1970s style carriages back then. It departed London Euston, but instead of taking the west coast route, it used the ECML to Edinburgh Waverley, where the train divided (I was travelling to Inverness). I must admit, I didn't properly hit the sack until about 02:50, when we were passing through my home town of Morpeth! After that, I was completely spark-out until we had passed Pitlochry. Surprisingly I slept well on the CS. Mind you, I would certainly like to travel on it again.
@@ChrisandArchiesModelsandTrains the new GWR class 230 has been tested on the greenford branch line and you got to come back to the greenford branch where you'll see the new greenford branch class 230 and it's a battery EMU and in west Ealing has a fast charging system for the new battery class 230 D train and this will replace the class 165 out of London to Bristol and you'll be excited for seeing the New class 230 on the greenford branch line
Watford is a pickup/set down point on the Lowland sleeper but on the Highland one pickup only and it doesn't set down there on it's way south. The Lowland one stops at Carlisle and Cairstairs, where the Edinburgh and Glasgow sections split. There is an unadvertised stop at Preston too at about 0330 and with the old stock they took the central door locking off there although you weren't meant to get off.I have only been on the new stock twice and I noticed that the doors remained shut at Preston although the buttons lit up.
Great video guys! I love the scotland sleeper but I foud the best very hard (double disabled berth) and like Chris very bumpy. Great experience though.
@@ChrisandArchiesModelsandTrains Yes we found the same! We to Inverness which is over 11 hours. We woukdn't had more sleep if the bed was better. Rock hard! Hope your time in Scotland?
And you arrived on platform 1 at Glasgow Central. Brilliant.

@@Bakerloo-Line-Fan yeah, we've seen them a few times but every time we have, they're so fast that we've missed them so far

The Caledonian Lowlander stops in Watford on a pick up/ set down only basis. Pick up only when heading north, set down when heading south
Thanks, it makes sense now.

I found the food to be excellent but small portion. Good drinks selection as well.
@@johnroberts2331 agreed, the ride was a bit bumpy at times. Could have done with a couple more hours sleep at the end.
