- The story on the ICJ judgement is taking on a life of its own which may not work out so well for four large South African businesses - MTN, Nedbank, Standard Bank and Absa. Over the weekend, the chief rabbi of South Africa, Warren Goldstein, made some serious allegations against the businesses.

As a customer of ABSA, I would also certainly need a response from them as soon as possible. If this is true, it could have serious repercussions for these companies.
Iran is now a BRICS member. SA and South African companies or banks will no doubt be increasingly working together with the BRICS countries regardless of western opposition. It's quite well known that NASPERS has a large stake in the Chinese state company Tencent.

When the world was voting whether to bring sanctions against the old SA government, Israel voted in favour of the sanctions being imposed because they were against the apartheid in SA. They did not side with the old government. You are wrong about that. It cost them most of the support of the previous SA government but they could not accept that apartheid was ok. You should still be able to check how the countries voted then. It was about 58/60 years ago.
I’ve never forgotten that because our boss was ranting about Israel voting against the old apartheid South Africa. He was practically frothing at the mouth.

if u have a bank account in SA you can send money to any person living in any country, there is hardly any checking up from the bank's side, once you have applied online in a few minutes you can transfer that money out, and as long as it is below 3 000 000 a year, or there's another way, if you have a banking account in SA u can open a global or world currency card, transfer money in to that account and then fly "on Holiday " to that country and draw cash at any ATM in that country,

I'm so embarrassed to be South African sometimes. Today is one of those days.
I am proud especially since everyone I come across in UK is proud of South Africa and its stance. and they disgusted with their government. As a customer of Standard Bank, I would like to know their explanation for having a 'Sharia Investment Fund' you can apply to on their App! I don't think ABSA is on the list. Can you imagine if SA get's downgraded from "grey listed" to "blacklisted ", the same as North Korea and Iran!
