🚗 My late Father never drove a car, he walked/ moped all his life. He was a Painter and Decorator by trade, and so visited probably every road where we lived for work. One advantage of this was, he was able to take a cutting from which ever plant took his fancy. He sure did have green fingers, our front garden where we lived was like a jungle in Summer with a riot of colour and sweet scents. He hardly ever bought a plant, be it flower or vegetable, and gave away just as many in return...... He probably saved enough money, to buy that car.👍
My mum and dad were the same...they alway asked the garden owner if they saw a plant they liked and would get a cutting...I don't think there was anyone who refused them and in return they would offer cuttings from their own garden.
Designer here, just an idea, do with it what you will: Painting the fence black would make it recede therefore making the space look even larger and unify the large structures in the garden. Then place a black object in the area opposite the shed (possibly an obelisk or arbor to sit under)this creates a triangle that the eye follows in a pleasing way.
Half day closing on a Saturday!?? I’ve never heard of such a thing. Here in Sudbury, Suffolk, a smallish market town, the shops get a huge amount of business all day Saturday. People here would be up in arms if they had half day closing on any day. Maybe it’s a Welsh thing. Loved, as usual, the views of the beautiful place where you live. Also the song that you edited in. When it comes to filming you really have the touch Sean. Continuing to watch you every day and as I live alone, really look forward to each episode. You are so natural and have a brilliant turn of phrase sometimes.
It's been like that for as long as I've been alive. It's so they can go and get more supplies for the shop. Usually on a Wednesday or Thursday and on Saturday.
Up here for local shops in Manchester it was half day closing on a Wednesday but across the road in Stockport it was Thursday half day closing. Some shops did a half day close on a Saturday mainly the bakers 😊
Any colour green looks lovely. I’m watching from North Wales this morning, visiting friends in your beautiful country. Hopefully the weather will stay dry today 🤞
If you had bought the Sage paint you could have done the shed door as well as the window frames and the gate - the sage would have blended in with the landscape a lot better!❤
the green paint looks good on the window, Sean. I was surprised how good the black stain is on your shed. You are quite right about how the black makes the colour of the flowers stand out.
LOVE the colour you painted the shed, and the colour you have painted around the windows, beautiful! It feels a really homely Homestead now for you. Wonderful that the rose is looking so lovely, and smelling so good too. I love your wicker armchair you picked up at Too Good To Waste - that place has been a great resource for you, and I am sure they are very pleased to see you in there. xxx
Hello Sean ,lovely stroll around your town, and country roads. Paint job windows all makes it more real the progress is moving along nicely.feel good factor for you . I think shops closing for half day is a good idea. Where I grew up and worked in retail, we closed half day on Wednesday always closed Sunday.one or two shops in the area still close half day Wednesday. Most stores now only employ part time workers , when you work full time in a shop the half day and Sunday closing gave staff a welcome break. I hear people complaining about shops not being open 24 hours. 😩 .....Lovely Roses at your homestead, thanks again for your videos. 👍🙏
Ooh Mr Sheen sorts out my sliding patio doors! My rescue dogs is also anxious although much better than he was when l got him 8 years ago. I can never tell what might set him off though. The other day he took offence to someone wearing a floppy hat! Enjoying your van life journey 😊
Hi Sean, I'm glad you went for green for window frame it looks great - I must admit I would have gone for the Sage green but can understand you wanting a smaller tin. I think it'll look even better when/if you paint your shed again as it will come up darker and really set the window frame off! So pleased you've got a window too now as will make your shed more secure. I can definitely recommend the Amazon Basics water filters and jug - cheap and does the job made by the same people who started it all off years ago as the jug part is made in Germany. Btw really liked the song playing whilst you were on the bus lovely views too! 👍 Anyway take care, until next time. 🙂
Love the green Sean. So fresh and bright next to the black. Beautiful. Always enjoy your views as you travel on the bus. Give an insight into the surroundings and daily happenings in the village. Fascinating that you have half day closing and all day Sunday closing of shops. I think that is fantastic….allows for some family time on the weekend. More of a rat race here where I live. Many shops are open 24 hours a day , 7 days a week. Crazy. I wish I knew what I am doing wrong with my rose. I bought a climbing rose last spring and all it does is grow leaves. No roses. Any suggestions from you or your viewers. So disappointed.
I too saw the small can of what was called Sage, but I noted that it really was not the same shade of Sage as the large can. It was lighter, which would not have looked as good with the dark of the shed.
Lovely 🌹 Sean I bought Lifestraw (pitcher side) water filter unit, the Lifestraw was developed to use in disaster areas & filters out any Nasties in Tap Water to River water, it retails for about £60, the filters last well too. I also got a small attachment with a ceramic water filter to go on faucets for £10 bad tastes, chemicals, germs filtered out bought on T#mu & a filter for water bottles also turns water Alkaline for £5. & lastly 😂 a rechargeable unit you pop in a basin of water with your fruit & veg it removes germs & pesticide residues for £10 all on T#mu, as you can see I'm not taking any chances, good water is so essential to your wellbeing & especially you having M.E..
Hi Sean, when you return things to Amazon, you can go to the post office with QR code on your phone, and then the post office print the label, saving you the hassle.
Sean, the painted shed looks fabulous!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful videos. My husband and I visited London last spring and he surprised me with a day in Wales toward the end of our trip, which was lovely. Cheers from New York😊
Re the water filter - Sean, please check out the Big Berkey water filter - I have had one for years and it really does remove that awful chlorine plus a lot of other nasties. It is a bit pricey but lasts forever and you can't put a price on health. As I suffer from a lot of health conditions plus extreme chemical sensitivity, this is the only water filter that truly works - and no I am not sponsored ... maybe I should be!! ❤
Sean I love green but this is a wow green, looks good though. That rose of yours Chandos beauty I love the colour I have a similar coloured rose it is Albertine the perfume from it is amazing, thanks for the video.
I invested in a Berkey water filter that removes chlorine and fluoride as well as bacteria and viruses ! I feel better using our tap water for us and the grand babies now. It was an expensive purchase but considering the state of our water in the UK I’m glad I got it. Love the green on the shed Sean. You look so happy pottering about in beautiful Wales. We’ve just built and filled our first raised bed….we moved house a month ago, it’s sown with dwarf beans and salad crops. Take care Sean xx
I'm impressed you resisted a purchase at Too Good To Waste but did you resist a cake and a cup of tea? 😂 I had that colour to paint a garden table top and a darker green for the metal ornate legs. Enjoyed the music in the background. Thank you for the trip out and the window looks great with the perspex in and the paint. It's all coming together Sean❤
Like the green , nice and bright. We're doing the front garden at the moment we've painted the raised bed sleepers a dark silver grey we are going to do the fence the same. It certainly makes the plants stand out😊
I’m intrigued with the little terrace garden at your Welsh Cottage home, and you have the perfect view of it from your kitchen window and door. Have you thought of painting the white door that leads to the street? I think the green color paint you chose for the allotment shed window frame would look soothing and really charming as a back drop to all the pretty and colorful flowers cascading about. I look forward to all the positive progress you’ve been making.
Oh no, not painting the beautiful natural stone, Im referring to the white door at the top of the terrace garden. Green paint would make this door blend much better with the natural stone and colorful plants. The white door looks out of olace. Is that door made of wood?
I agree with you on that thought and i can just see a trellis style garden gate- door with climbing old fashioned roses cascading over it. What a gorgeous focal point that would be for your lovely Welsh terrace garden! In my garden the tall wooden garden gate door is curved on the top and at head height in the middle of the door is a round hinged shutter window that opens just like the round window in the door of the Wizard of Oz. It has a latch on the inside to lock it closed and i open it only when i want to look out.
Oh see!? It turned out just lovely and rustic as it should. Did I tell you, I spent 10 years in Alaska, in a very small town. Landlocked. Couldn't get in without a boat or a plane. Just at the mouth of the Prince William Sound. A town called Cordova. I was en-route when the Exxon/Valdez oil spill happened! My son was three when we drove the Alaska Canada Highway and he was 13 when we left. Of course, he's gone back to Alaska, as that feels like home to him. In my heart, that's also part of home, just as England is. But we so enjoyed making things and watching things grow. The amazing wildlife. The Northern Lights. The Salmon. The Bears. Fiddle-head ferns! My friends, who were indigenous natives of Aleut/Eyak heritage, taught me all about what was safe to eat, how to be safe, how to truly appreciate the beauty of the land. The first year was really spent in efforts of cleaning the oil spill. At that time, I was very young. Early 20's. I was a hairdresser and bartender. It was a town of 1300 residents, which trebled in the Summer, due to kids coming up to work in our canneries, to make college money. What an amazing experience. I adored it. Just watching you at the allotment, brings back memories of the scent of the soil, damp wood, all things growing and clean air. It was a magic place to raise my boy. Anyway, I've gone off on a novella here! Haha! Well done you. Love the colour. Love the style. Know it's going to be your most wonderful place. Enjoy!
Hi Sean, yeah, I can leave a comment today, sometimes it won't let me. Love that about Wales, the old fashioned ways, early closing Saturday not back till Monday. That green for the shed is a bit bright but you'll get use to it. Atleast it won't look like a boring old shed. Take care Sean 😊
Shed is looking great Sean. The green makes it all pop. Like you we do love a Sunday lunch. Roasted potatoes roast meat of sorts lots of veg cauliflower cheese Yorkshire puds and lashings of gravy. See you in the next one 😊❤
“Why do things easy when you can do them the hard way” 😂 totally my husband motto! Hey new garden new shed maybe the green can be a new gate color too?
The green fit in nicely for a garden shed and windows fit perfectly. I wondered about the water filter, we have horrible water here all the time. Bought a container with filter, it didn't help one bit. Now I have to buy 5gl of water a week.
If the green is a tester pot then it may not have the added wood preserves. They tend to just be standard emulsion in testers. We have just done our new shed in dark creocote and the windows in cream. Looks lovely, like an old fashioned scouts hut ☺️
Oh Sean your window looks lovely, that shade of green proper grand! An the perspex just slotted in nicely.i enjoyed the walk round the town, you did well not buying anything in too good to waste. I always come out with some thing, when I venture into any of those shops. 😂 Take care ,it's Tuesday now I seeing your video so hopefully you had a lovely weekend. Tara pet.😊
Shed looks v nice in those colours. Would you consider a small log burning stove in shed for winter? Friend of mine has one, similar to one you have on narrowboat, and he virtually lives in his shed all year round 😊
I have one of the stainless steel gravity filters and I love it, works quite well. I see another commenter mentioned this. Your shed looks fab! The window colour and shed colour are perfect, and aren't the new windows a treat. Thanks again for sharing your views! lol best wishes from the Pacific Northwest. One day I shall send you a magnet.
Perspex in the window frame looks good but you will find that the uv radiation from the sun will haze it in time. This happens with car headlamps as well and it's a major drawback with perspex.
@@seanjamescameron or ... clean it with bug spray (like Off!). Does wonders for cleaning car headlamps and should never be put on our skin. Spray it on, leave it for 3 minutes and wipe off.
That shed’s looking really good, great choice of colours Sean. It couldn’t only of been me with my heart in my mouth when you closed the window with the Perspex not fixed in 😮 Are you going to paint the ‘greenhouse’ side of the shed white ? Or do you think that might make it look a bit ….errrrr….bitty ? And another coat of the charcoal will really make a difference, mind you I like seeing the grain peeping through as it is, like I said it’s looking really good 👍 And a good decision on the water filter, if it ain’t up to the job then back it goes, good on yer Sean ! All the best, Richard
Hi Sean, I love Treorchy high street you have still got all the smaller individual shops there, and big supermarkets haven't taken over, which is what's happened where I live, and we don't have much choice as smaller shops can't compete with supermarkets, there seems to be more of a community spirit there, I like the bright green on the shed windows, it's all coming together nicely Sean take care xx
Hello Sean from Bermuda, I am just watching your latest vlog, you shave just set up the table in the shed and I was thinking you could put your trolley under the table out it the way. The shed color will look very nice after you get the second coat of stain on it. I love your vlog and watch all the time. Thanks. You’ll have no space left for magnets from Bermuda.🇧🇲
I’ve corrected the spelling of your name, it bothered me too much to leave it. Hopefully you’ve had a lovely Sunday so far. I enjoyed watching your vlog this morning.
Just thinking how lovely it must be to have all those small independent shops so close to home. My father had a chemist shop and we used to shut early on a Thursday and Saturday. We were living in Winchester in Hampshire then back in the 1980's. Loving the green on the shed and lovely seeing the roses in bloom ❤
Like the green colour you chose. Reminds me of the paint we used in the 60s. Goes well with the dark stain. It's definitely cowl weather here in the East Midlands today, cold and rain. Got the fleece back on and getting the slow cooker out for a casserole. July or is it April? 😅
It's starting to feel like everything is coming together now. The shed looks good in the colours you've chosen. I really enjoyed your musical choices in the video. It makes sense what you've said about the water filter machine. We just have the plastic jug type filter, and I had wondered about a machine. Enjoy your week.
Could do with a bit more rain,it's hardly stopped raining since last June here in Chester north Wales boarder.Yet plants look like they need more.Didnt realise rain that only wet humans had evloved
Awww im glad you've got your windows in now. If you buy a large pot of paint dont let the bus driver see it, hide it in a carrier cause over here in England they wont let you on the bus. Enjoyed that Sean ❤
Watching you paint your shed......and thinking you're "painting memories"....memories for you, and memories for us out here too...thanks for sharing your garden journey.
I was concerned the filter woulld disapoint. Perhaos a Berkie filter would work. Available in small-medium size. It could be placed in your study since your cute little may not hold it. I like the color. Green is my favorite.😊😊
Good afternoon Sean, that sideways glance lol 😂 as Dick Emery says, you are awful, but I like you! I only have Sunday dinner when I have company round, after dealing with food all week in work it puts me off a bit! I was tapping my foot along to the music 🎵 very nice! That cellophane feeling again with the perspex 😄 A nice bit of tarpaulin would do the trick for shelter and shade inside the shed,it will keep it cooler and stop the birds pooping on you and the windows, if you decide to sit outside! 😂 take care Sean 💜
I love the colour of the shed window frames, it reminds me of the Corporation (not tea sheds) benches, aah happy days, when you are a kid with no worries, would hate to be a kid now!!
This Sunday we had a meat free lunch, which is highly unusual for us on a Sunday, whilst baking a potato each for my hubby and I , I made a cucumber salad, with the whites of a few spring onions and radish, dressed with, sour cream a clove of garlic very finely chopped, some dill and black pepper ( no salt as it brings the water out of the cucumber) Then to fill the potatoes about 15 mins before they were done I sautéed an onion and red pepper, the added a can deep browned baked beans, to warm through. Potatoes done ( which I had rubbed with butter and ground some pink salt over b4 cooking) after an hour at 375 f into which I had scored a cross, to serve oven off added bean mix to opened potato and topped with a slice of mozzarella put plates in still warm oven (off) to melt the cheese . Served with extra butter if needed ? With cucumber salad, it made a real change. Then on Sundays only I make a dessert. But ! That is what we have for supper 🇨🇦 Monday Canada Day July 1st , we celebrated with BBQ’d Elk steak etc…
Sean, I also have terrible tasting water, where I live in Queensland, Australia.. I boil the kettle before bed and first thing in the morning I pour into a filtered jug, which is enough for me to drink through the day, with the horrid taste gone. This may work for you. Cheers
Reverse osmosis filters work very well, but for every gallon of clean you will produce 3 of grey water. Can be a nice thing for recycling, doing laundry, watering outdoors.. but it's a lot of effort.
I normally only have roasts on a Sunday when the weather is cooler. In the summer, no special effort is made. Usually a decent sandwich. When I was growing up, my dad always had cheese on toast in the evenings on a Sunday. Not a tradition i've kept.
🚗 My late Father never drove a car, he walked/ moped all his life.
He was a Painter and Decorator by trade, and so visited probably every road where we lived for work.

Really good to see you supporting your local shops ❤

well done Sean looks great! I do like that green!!!
Absolutely love the green 💚 colour on your shed Sean!!
It's a lovely green. Mine needs doing if you have time? 😂😂
Looking good but I think you need to paint the window frame/opening as well to preserve and lengthen the life of the wood of the shed
I love the colour it pops lovely from the black ❤
It was lovely to see on your journey home people outside talking to each other - the wonder of Wales

Yes, the sage green would have looked much better - that green is a bit bright!!
Yes, that's what I said in the video.
Well I'm happy with it and that is all that matters.
Have to admit it wouldn't have been my choice of green either but then as an artist I guess I see things differently than Sean.
@@seanjamescameronpaint the gate the new color. A little more brightness in your world never hurts!
Lovely shade of green, very stylish. Also enjoyed the music soundtrack on this video, very laid back vibes. Thanks for a relaxing video.

The green fit in nicely for a garden shed and windows fit perfectly. I wondered about the water filter, we have horrible water here all the time. Bought a container with filter, it didn't help one bit. Now I have to buy 5gl of water a week.
Love the Shed colours together Sean. 🖤💚❤️
If the green is a tester pot then it may not have the added wood preserves. They tend to just be standard emulsion in testers. We have just done our new shed in dark creocote and the windows in cream. Looks lovely, like an old fashioned scouts hut ☺️
It wasn't a tester.
Tara pet.😊
The bright paint on the windows helps birds to see that this is part of a structure so they don't fly into the glass. Good color!
The paint colour looks fab, I've used Ronseal paints before for small projects in the garden...shed looks like she's got her Sunday best on now lol 😊
Actually looking from the inside to out, the green blends in nicely with the foilage.
Shed looks v nice in those colours. Would you consider a small log burning stove in shed for winter? Friend of mine has one, similar to one you have on narrowboat, and he virtually lives in his shed all year round 😊
Great colour 👌 I held my breath hoping you'd go into charity shop whilst in town !maybe one day 😊
Wow that colour looks fabulous sterling job Sean .
Then I'll change it to glass at that point but which time the shed will be gone anyway and replaced with... well, what and see in a few years.
@@seanjamescameron or ... clean it with bug spray (like Off!). Does wonders for cleaning car headlamps and should never be put on our skin. Spray it on, leave it for 3 minutes and wipe off.
Oh Wow looks fab
Beautiful, you picked one of my favorite colors
Wow amazing colour !
That shed’s looking really good, great choice of colours Sean. It couldn’t only of been me with my heart in my mouth when you closed the window with the Perspex not fixed in 😮
Are you going to paint the ‘greenhouse’ side of the shed white ? Or do you think that might make it look a bit ….errrrr….bitty ? And another coat of the charcoal will really make a difference, mind you I like seeing the grain peeping through as it is, like I said it’s looking really good 👍
And a good decision on the water filter, if it ain’t up to the job then back it goes, good on yer Sean !
All the best,
Richard
Not sure yet on colour.
The green turned out to be a nice pop of color. Looks great!
Love the colour Sean it beautiful 😊
I love the green with your new windows. I have a similar green called Leprechaun Green on my house. Green really pops.
The door painted the same colour green will look nice. You could paint inside of window frame and door same colour too.
Could do with a bit more rain,it's hardly stopped raining since last June here in Chester north Wales boarder.Yet plants look like they need more.Didnt realise rain that only wet humans had evloved
Green looks good !
The green .looks lovely.
The green is just right. Love it!
We bought a Life Straw pitcher. The bigger size. It gets everything out of your water. Fresh tasting always.
British Berkfield is the best table top water filter, love the green on the windows.
when the second coat of stain's on it'll look great with that green I think, a lot better than dull grey
Perfect color it looks beautiful against the black grained wood.😊
LOOKS REALLY NICE!
Sails are cheap and easy for shade x
I use an excellent Berkey Water Filtration System!
I like the green... very cheerful!
My favorite Sunday lunch is roast lamb and roast vege but we don't do that so much anymore, sadly.
Love the color. Very cheerful.
I love the colour of the shed window frames, it reminds me of the Corporation (not tea sheds) benches, aah happy days, when you are a kid with no worries, would hate to be a kid now!!
I loved the filming of your journey home on the bus. It was lovely to capture folk going about their daily lives, as you passed through the village! X
But ! That is what we have for supper 🇨🇦
Monday Canada Day July 1st , we celebrated with BBQ’d Elk steak etc…
Sean, I also have terrible tasting water, where I live in Queensland, Australia.. I boil the kettle before bed and first thing in the morning I pour into a filtered jug, which is enough for me to drink through the day, with the horrid taste gone. This may work for you. Cheers
Reverse osmosis filters work very well, but for every gallon of clean you will produce 3 of grey water. Can be a nice thing for recycling, doing laundry, watering outdoors.. but it's a lot of effort.
Love the green! Will you paint the door to match?
Yes.
I have the zero water filter small tank, had it for 2 years and in my opinion it's great, I know a few folk who have one too.
I normally only have roasts on a Sunday when the weather is cooler. In the summer, no special effort is made. Usually a decent sandwich. When I was growing up, my dad always had cheese on toast in the evenings on a Sunday. Not a tradition i've kept.
The color is fab.
Loving the green it realy makes the window pop .great choice ❤
With all the pops that shed will be popping off on its own!!
