Thanks for sharing your list. I just discovered them in March this year, so still getting a grip on their studio albums. Generally, I think they’ve got better and better, so I generally prefer their newer albums over the older ones. Although, having said that, I listened to Quarters again today and enjoyed it a lot more than in the past. Omnium Gatherum is another one I did like on first listen, but now it’s one of my favourites. As for absolute favourite, it would have to be either Silver Cord or Butterfly 3000, which were both quite low on your list. But I suppose that’s the beauty of this band - they cover so many styles that everyone will have a different opinion. Anyway, thanks for the vid 👍🏻
It's interesting that my fave and maybe (don't really know all of them by now) my least favorite albums are the same as yours, while in between it's very different. My second place (maybe even my first - I'll have to listen to it more often) is "Laminated Denim" and my third is either "Ice, Death, Planets..." or "L.W." (much, much better than "K.G." in my opinion). Also, "Petrodragonic Apocalypse" is waaaay better than "Infest The Rat's Nest", because it is much more unique in style and has more interesting songwriting. While "ITRN" is more or less a bunch of quite enjoyable but cliché Thrash Metal songs (plus the very Motörhead-like "Mars For The Rich") without anything really interesting besides the cool concept, "Petrodragonic Apocalypse" has a really innovative and unique style, which I'd call Psychedelic Metal. It also sound's much more like a King Gizzard album and besides Thrash Metal I also recognize some other influences like Progressive Metal, especially some Tool-moments (the riffs and time signatures in general are much less standard on this album). Anyway, interesting band, from which I may not need all albums, but it's impressive, how huge and diverse their discography already is!
If you dig their metal albums, you should check out VVICKED’s new single Roadkill! Very early thrash sounding, and it’d be cool to see a cover from you too!
