Omgee Oliver Sykes is the sweetest guy ever not only a good singer but so very sweet!! I met him this year at the warp tour and we talked and this boy has so much heart towards his fans!
If you think he's voice sucks you only prove how much you don't know about core music. It's not about pretty vocals for kids that listen to bands like paramore, it's about being true and it goes without saying that Oli puts all his heart in what's he doing

And he does do a lot of yells, more than any other vocalist I've heard, and yells can hurt sometimes.
@GimmeAGreenCard I now have experience on both sides of the spectrum. I'm pretty disappointed on where Atreyu's career has led them. But for BMTH,I enjoy their new stuff way more. Currently There is a Hell believe me I've Seen it.... is my favorite album, but I also know how it feels for a band to lose the style you love. Feelsbadman
oli really isn't good live. i mean this is my most favorite band in the whole world, he just needs to work on his breath. gotta respect him though thumbs up if you agree

Im sorry man, but look at other bands, like suicide silence, whitechapel, job for a cowboy, deicide. All those bands have been touring, and the vocalist has never lost his voice. And even better, Deicide's vocalist had throat cancer, and he kept his good shit up

There was nothing wrong with the quality of his voice in that video, it's just pitchy.

Actually his voice is fucked because he was stupid enough not to learn the proper technique to prevent damage. Although I actually don't think this sounds that bad, except he really shouldn't need to breathe as often as he is (again, probably because of bad technique).

His voice isnt fucked up because of drinking and because alot of screamers have been alcoholics and scream just fucking fine, his voice is fucked because he has a distinct way of screaming where he rips his vocal chords to shreds, he hasnt had proper training with screaming

Jesus Christ, he doesn't even sound bad. Just because it's not because what a lot of you people are familiar with when it comes to 'screams,' doesn't make it bad. Screams don't have to be completely hoarse. The gritty yelling style he uses here actually often sounds better, and sounds more original since it has the vocalist's unique voice in it. Plus, that style is probably more traditional in hardcore, the completely unclean vocal style only came about recently.
There is a strong difference between live performance and album stuff. Just because they sample their songs and make it sound perfectly on albums, it's nothing worth, if Oli just can't get on that equal stage.
