Nice video! I’d like to add 5 cameras (front, back, 2 blind spot, interior) to a 2012 Jeep JK and would like the blind spot cams to display on the unit when I use the turn signal. What interface/adapter do you recommend? Thanks!

What hdmi cable are you using I’m trying to mirror my iPhone. I have a hdmi and the lighting cable adapter and when I switch to hdmi source on the radio the screen just goes black. I’ve contacted Kenwood and they told me you can mirror your iPhone with this unit. What am I doing wrong? I have the 1057xr

@@topg2820 I was speaking more about the Chinese brands that are doing well offering good specs for less on their mid range phones. Xiaomi, Vivo, One Plus etc. Sony phones don't offer good value and their camera's aren't anywhere close to best despite they make the seniors those others phones carry. Their head units could be much better.

This is the best car stereo I’ve seen so far cause you can actually connect an external cd/dvd player by USB, a TV Box by AV composite, and also hook up a PS2 Slim by using a PS2 composite to HDMI converter. How far can the you adjust the floating screen to stick out? Also is it the same reverse camera(Kenwood CMOS-103) used for the front view and blind side view?

Thank you for the review. It obviously is a great unit. It would be my #1 choice if not for two things. (1) the double din isn’t necessary and requires modifications to fit in my vehicle in order to fit. (2) The bezels are too large. It just looks bulky and in my F-150, it covers the round supply vents of the HVAC system. The Alpine, Pioneer and Sony systems look a lot better in my opinion.
Finally, I wish alpine, Pioneer or one of these manufacturers would offer a tablet style system that is on a mount that allows the unit to be rotated vertically or horizontally. Instead of mounting the volume control on the head unit, have a separate control knob and touchpad that can be mounted anywhere.

It would be nice if they'd make a smaller screen size unit like Pioneer and Alpine does. Not everyone drives a Tahoe or Suburban. An 8"-9" screen would be great. The volume knob is a definite winner and sets it above all the others. But the bezel is way too big - too much wasted space. The user interface is so 1980s - they could learn something from Pioneer and the Android based units. HDRadio, Bluetooth, and USB screens are just awful, bland and boring. Set-up screens are okay, though. Luckily, most driving time will be spent using GPS, or Android Auto/Carplay interface. Maybe Kenwood could consider hiring some graphic artists.

I have the Pioneer DMH-8600NEX and I regret purchasing it. Wish it had GPS, it has a GPS antena but you can only access GPS by connecting your phone. If your cellphone carrier is small so it has limited range outside of major cities, good luck being able to do any searches on your GPS. Waze will eat your bandwidth. If you listen to music from a USB stick, you have to leave Android Auto where your GPS is and go back to home menu to access your USB/Music Player to change songs. Split screen is only for when you use your Android Auto or Apple Carplay and the various phone apps supported by the unit.
It's a pain to scroll through songs in your USB using the touch screen while you drive, a rotary knob would make it far less dangerous, you can't even use the bloody remote, which I might add is IR remote, so you have to point the damn thing at the screen, can't even mount it on a phone holder beside the unit for convenience. Pioneer, make your remotes bluetooth or something.
Pioneer's unit is a waste of money, i rate it 4/10. Will buy this Kenwood next time.
