Never leave the used capsule resting inside the machine. It is stated on the instructions’ manual.
After brewing you have to eject the capsule or will dry out on the punching needles and water injector, compromising the brewing performance

I am learning so much from your vids. I'm going to be demonstrating Nespresso machines soon in a department store. I haven't started actual onsite training yet. It should be a pretty fun part time job. One thing from my online training I've learned about this model is that it is able to do pour over brews and there is a Nespresso carafe you can purchase that holds 18 ounces. :-)

Nice video - thanks for putting it together. I currently own the Virtuoplus (same as your old, black machine). Was wondering, what made you want to get the Next, since functionality-wise, it seems almost the same as the Virtuplus? Do you see and specific benefits with the Next, like the taste or quality of coffee, speed of heating up or brewing, ease of use, etc.? Thanks again.
I wanted the Next just because I quite liked the design and thought as the Next was newer then thought it would be better on all fronts. When it came I was surprised at how much better the Vertuo Plus was! Don't know if you watched our 'vs' videos where we tested them against each other or my final review of the Next? I ended up sending it back in the end.
Just to be clearer: You need to turn the machine on first, by clicking the coffee button once, THEN push the coffee button three more times, each click within 2 seconds of the other.

I’m actually glad I got the vertuo plus now! Any tips on is it worth getting the coffee membership? Does it work out cheaper to but the pods or it’s just that they give you the 10% credit?

I think it's a good deal to be fair. You can have quite a low subscription amount (cancel anytime) and the money just stays on your account if you don't spend it that month. You don't get the capsules any cheaper but the 10% is just free money really and you can also order more frequently with free delivery on 50 capsules instead of 100 (in the UK). This can be handy if a capsule has just come back in stock and you want to order it before it goes out of stock again, but ordering 100 might be expensive.

Thank you for a great video! I received my Vertuo Next machine the other day and noticed that my capsule catch bin does not sit flush with my machine. Does you poke out at the top or bottom at all? I wonder if I should bother bringing this up with DeLonghi/Nespresso.
Thanks! I haven't experienced this but not sure who makes the UK Vertuo Next. Delonghi, Krups or Magimix etc. It can be a little bit awkward to remove and put back so maybe playing around with it a little might solve it?
@@A2BProductions I will try wiggling it around a bit. Its quite strange that it does not sit flush. Other than that, its been a good first experience with a Nespresso machine.
Tiff Nidell - Check to be sure you have the double unit assembled correctly. Look at the sides of the insert. When you see a bar of plastic up a few inches from the bottom, place it so it faces the machine as you assemble the double unit. From there you will lift the combined unit slightly at the base until you can fit the unit into the side of your machine. It will fit completely flush with the outside wall of the machine when assembled correctly.
I didn’t get the 12 capsules after buying on Amazon.
Hi, question: after rinsing, is there supposed to be some water left inside the machine where the capsule goes? Or do I need to remove that?
Yeah it's probably best just wiping that out each time. The Vertuo Plus had little holes in the plastic capsule holder to allow the water to drain away but for some reason they removed them on the Next.
A question here...is that a lot of water if you want to make a late or or cappucino? Won't that taste somewhat watery?

No problem mate, glad you liked it. Can't remember how loud it was now but we did a few videos where we compared it to the Vertuo Plus if that helps at all. They're on our channel page.
If I only do cappuccinos and lattes, would you recommend a vertuo machine or an original? I have been looking at the pixie as well. I want the one with the best tasting espressos. Thanks.
Personally I would definitely be buying OriginalLine as the espresso selection is much bigger than the VertuoLine and you’ll also have loads of compatible pods available to buy too. Quite often cheaper and sometimes better tasting. Hope this helps.
I always find coffee ground in my coffee cup after using the vertuo next, any tips to avoid it?
Hi there. Not too sure I'm afraid as I returned the machine after a week or two and kept hold of my Vertuo Plus. If you do find a solution though, please do let us know as it may help others. This has actually come up in the comments a couple of times recently on the channel.

I wanted to share as well, I found these amazing refillable pods on Amazon for the original line and I have to say they work really good ...I love Starbucks espresso and I’ve been able to use these little pods with my own grinder and the coffee comes out amazing in my espresso esstenza mini ..anyway I just wanted to pass it on to you ...Refillable Coffee Capsules Cup Stainless Steel Nespresso Pods by AOZBZ :-)
Just because it doesn't produce the fake crema as silky as the Plus, it doesn't mean is a terrible machine. I find my Vertuo Next Deluxe way more beautiful than any of the Plus models, it doesn't drip like crazy after the brew is finished (as the Plus does), it may be updated via firmware in the future (unlike the Plus), it can brew an additional 18 oz capsule size (which the Plus can't), and the coffee tastes as good as any other Vertuo machine out there.
Can we use a reusable steel pod in nespresso vertue next?
You can but I’ve never tried the metal ones so don’t know what long term effect they might have on machine performance. We do have a video of the reusable foil lids on the channel though in case that’s of interest.
Just got my vertuo next today and connecting to bluetooth is a little bit frustrating.
Yeah, I didn't manage to get mine connected in the end before returning it. On one of our other videos we did with the Next, though, a commenter did give some instructions on how to factory reset the machine as this has helped for some. I gave up as still didn't work for me and I'd already decided to return it.
Can you use the original style pods without the barcodes on?
You can’t I’m afraid… just the barcode Vertuo capsules or reusable capsule options. We did review one of those on the channel in case it helps.
The model i received could only manage a peak of 128 degrees fahrenheit for the "coffee" being dispensed into my cup.
I have been given one of these for Christmas. The coffee does not seem very HOT!!! I wonder how expensive the capsules are?
I use hot water to warm the cup first. Boiling water shouldn't be used for coffee.
It comes out at the right temperature but if it hits a cold cup, it will cool down considerably
Does your water tank have a line at the back?
I can't remember to be honest but we do have a full review of the Vertuo Next on the channel and a few other videos too, in case one of those shows the water tank better.
Hey! Stupid question was hoping you could help me out, how do you do a factory reset on the machine? I’m trying to set it up on the App and it won’t let me just says I have to do a factory reset on the machine. Thankssss
Hi there, not a stupid question at all! I actually sent my machine back in the end but a subscriber did give some instructions in the comments of our final review of the machine that may help. Since then I've bought the Barista Recipe Maker, though, and came across similar issues but managed to connect that by having my location and bluetooth turned on at all times while connecting the machine in case that helps too.

Not as standard, you have to buy the aeroccino separate or you can sometimes get deals where it comes with it as a bundle
Can you be clearer on how you make the drink? Is it one button press, then wait 10 secs then press again?
Hi there. I returned my Next in the end but pretty sure when making a coffee you only need to press it once then be patient, as the centrifusion technology can take a while to kick off. Hope this helps.

I was also told I would get 12 free capsules, I assumed in the box. Did you ever find out if you were to get a variety pack or no?
Yeah this has happened a couple of times now, usually when I've ordered from Nespresso direct. If I'd have taken it up with them then I'm sure they would've sent them out but I had a lot of capsules anyway as I got 100 free when I bought the Vertuo Plus, so I didn't pursue it. Might be worth giving them a call, though 👍

Also thanks for the review I am a first time buyer, I have lived in many parts of the world and had many types of coffee and espresso style drinks from many different machines. Alot had these Nespresso style pods, but worried I was wasting money buying a machine.
My first espresso machine was all self done by grinding fresh beans and a steam frother, but that was almost 20 years ago.
No worries. Did you watch our other videos by any chance? I only ask as I hate wasting money too. I didn't have a great experience with the Vertuo Next myself and feel the original machines offer better value. Not something I like saying but if you've just bought your machine then you may be able to exchange. Hope it helps.
@@A2BProductions I did just go back and watch a few of your videos specifically the one comparing the plus to the next,I'm going to go ahead and try my variety pack when he gets here but I will say the presentation of the plus compared to the next is a very different. I will definitely keep in mind the temperature for the first cup I make,I definitely don't want to have to wait to the third cup to get a nice hot cup and I do plan on taking these to work with me when I leave.
I'm not too spoiled when it comes to espresso machines I've been using a Keurig for a few years now and personally couldn't care less I typically grind my own beans from Black rifle coffee.I could just go ahead and get a standard coffee pot instead of using a Keurig. So I can't say I have a particular standard to be met by the Next, I will have to go and do some price comparisons before I consider buying the plus.
@@A2BProductions I'm going to also go back and try to watch a lot of your videos on how to make different drinks, when I was a kid I would commonly make double espresso and simply mix it with a little bit of mocha. Any advice and how to make a quality mocha, I didn't see any one in your videos but I haven't looked at all of them yet.

Mine will not go through a cleaning cycle. I can’t get any water to come out at all. I’m getting so frustrated.
Sorry to hear that Krystal. I didn't have any issues with the cleaning cycle (tapped it 3 times really quickly if I remember right, you do have to wait a few seconds I think) but did have other issues which we mention in our recent review of the machine. Hope you manage to get it sorted!
hey I know it's been a month since your comment but I just got mine and had the same issue. Make sure you're locking the thing all the way. Look how his is locked on the screen and make sure you lock it the same. I locked mines half way, didn't notice, and it wasn't working I didn't know why
@@papaedeen hey there, we’ve been trying and trying and nothing works. The way it’s locked is different than on the video, but there is no way to make the locked sign show, it’s hidden under the lever. If we push further, it’ll definitely break.

Yeah it's definitely slimmer. The capsules are quite big aren't they so probably as slim as it could be while having enough room to store the used capsules.
Yeah not sure why they didn't keep that. Maybe they just wanted that slimline look.

It's a couple of the Barista Creation ones they've included on the box. Bianco Leggero and Bianco Forte. Always remembered there being two Double Espresso on my tester box but clocked 3 on the Vertuo Next box. They've actually sent 10 of the Bianca Forte with the 100 free capsules this time too. Looking forward to trying those.

Ah I see, which machine do you have? In all honesty my Vertuo machine would be redundant if my wife didn't love the Hazelino capsule so much and if I didn't use it for these videos. If you see a good deal on a Vertuo then it's worth giving it a try, but I'd rather spend the money elsewhere personally. The Creatista we unboxed recently has really impressed but still getting to grips with the machine, will give a full review soon!
Looks awful, what a retrograde step? I guess elf and safety went after them about the motorised drive on the Virtuo plus machine being a potential finger trap. I’ll stick with the earlier model.

Is it me or does this look cheap?
Should say this is the cheapest version they do. Think the more expensive models have better asthetics but Nespresso said the internal parts are the same. I've actually decided to return it though and have posted a few videos recently that explain why.
