Such a nice finishing touch for that space!! I love walnut - we have our kitchen island finished in walnut and it's such a nice warm touch to the whole kitchen... one quick note: whenever you put a chair up to the counter (or anywhere really), always put the back of the chair against whatever you are bracing the chair on and that way when you stand on the chair and lean over, the chair won't move away from you. Easy way to prevent accidents!!
Love that you show off your grandmothers dishes. Would be good to put the bowl on a lower shelf so you can see the inside pattern. I have so many items from my Mum and Grandmother (from Croatia) and Dad in my wooden dresser that I enjoy looking at.
I also have the Currier and Ives plates and I love them. 🥰 Absolutely love the way your project turned out - a great use of space and beautiful as well ❤
Those plates you said were your great grandma's, my husband and I actually found a whole identical set of those plates one day when we were digging in our yard under a tree! Many of them were broken underground but we got 5-6 of them fully intact and use them all the time now! Pretty cool!!

The seam? I looked back multiple times at shots from the video trying to see what you are referencing. Do you mean the lighter spots on the wood? On the top left corner of the top shelf and the back of the third shelf from the top?
Thanks! Yes there is a seam. It was done that way because that was the last of the wood, we didn't have enough. I'm very particular but honestly it doesn't bother me at all.

Just curious - how did you fasten the shelf to the wall to prevent tipping from too much front weight?
Thank you Julia. they are attached to the sidewalls via long screws. Located a stud behind the sheetrock, and secured into that.
