I just can't understand how Kai Rosenkranz did not gain more fame after what he did for Gothic series and Risen....

Risen 1 was the last game he did the score for. There's also the fact that these games are pretty niche and not that well-known.
@Soku Thanks for your reply. During last year I did some research on KR and his "mysterious" departure from realm of in-game music composition. Well it was his conscious decision. He invested his money in game-related business and devoted his time to his family (3 kids). Unfortunately, in 2014 he kind of extorted money from his fans on Kickstarter (about 37120 bucks). which means he does not give a Fuct about his fanbase and legacy.
Anyway I am listening his music almost everyday including this particular mix.

He played on Gothic/Risen sentiments to encourage backers. Please search "Kai Rozenkranz Kickstarter". Please read most recent comments there to gain full view of situation.
Imho Risen 1 soundtrack is on the same level as Gothic's
Of course it is, it's done by the same composer - Kai Rosenkranz, unlike in the later Piranha games.

This game became my favorite PB game solely because of ambient and music, that deep grass fields in sunset with this music, absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. The Harbor town in the sunset, it's so peaceful.

Good times can always come back. Only your point of view is different from when you were younger. Years ago we didn't need much. It's still the same. Just hear to yourself, what you need, what you love and do it.
I feel this comment so much. I used to play this game with a friend of mine like 14 Years ago. When i was still a kid, and life was just different.
We still have good times, but the feelings of nostalgia and pure light-heartedness will never come back.
I kept playing this game mostly for its music. This is brilliant, so relaxing. I can't compare this to anything it just blows my mind.

This channel is pure excellence, from the transitions to the involvement of the ambient SFX. The art work is always a joy to look at and as a whole, whomever mixes these hour long tracks manages to encapsulate the feeling I had when immersed in each PB game perfectly. Hi! A few weeks ago I picked up your mixes to listen to while writing or reading. I'm also a game master for pen and paper games and I recently started using your work as background music for our playing sessions.
Both me and the players really like it, you do an awesome piece of work here! It is the perfect mix of ambient stuff and just realistic background noise, espescially if you have to imagine a setting in the wilderness.
It also helps a lot if nobody is talking for some seconds, no awkward silences or moments where people hastily try to think of something anymore.

Recently finished Risen after giving up because I was stuck (tried to gain one of the disks from the lizard ruin where you have to take the armor piece lmaoh). Now I've finished playing Gothic 1 and starting with G2.
Tbh Risen was the only one I still didn't play, but I'm happy I finally did!

Imo there's a huge gap in quality between Kai and Björn. Not to say Björn is bad but KR is on a different level I think

Risen 2 music is still good, though not on the level of Risen (and not by K.R.).
There are two things for me to come down. First: A 2 Hour walk across a forrest. Second: Listen to this masterpice.

Risen has just been shadow dropped it seems onto the Nintendo Switch eshop and apparently a physical version of the port is also available in some areas, so if you listen to this music and feel nostalgic and want to pick it up and play it again, know that there is another modern option to do so on!

Да. И Композиторы Мартин Псиболович и Адам Скорупа из Ведьмака 3 тоже имеют место быть. Хоть они и не русские, а польские. Впрочем, это неважно, главное, чтобы музыка была красивой

Солидарен с тобой когда то давно моя бабушка играла в Risen 1 и когда уже у меня появился компьютер я тоже решил попробовать, а после когда уже прошёл её за все фракции решил отправится к готоманам и познать мир готики

I remember thinking this looked like Eminem off that Relapse CD. That was back in 2010, this game was awesome.
Is awesome I mean, still play it to this day and I still haven’t even completed the game to this day.
5:48 one track from Age of Mythology starts very similar.
For me Risen 1 it's like Gothic 1
Risen 2 is the real Risen, with it's own world, own characters
and Risen 3 is just like Gothic 2
And I like Gothic 1 the most ;)
For me Risen 1 is both Gothic 1 and 2 all together.. we have the swamp, bandits, magic, alchemy, ruins (underground ruins going up to surface and monsters appearing), smithing.. and RIsen 1 has better combat. It's more fluent and smooth. Gothic 1 and 2 a bit slow (but which is ok i still love them). Risen 2 is nice.. risen 3 is a no go.. the quests are so boring in Risen 3.. and that low pirate voice is just horrid. Each his own :-)
G 1 - G 2 - G 3 - Risen
It's kinda implied Risen is a continuation of the "Go with Xardas" ending from Gothic 3.
All the other games are their own.
Risen 1 was the last good game made by PB.

Damals noch so jung.. Mein Vater hat mir Brote geschmiert. Mit Speck und Tomaten. Damals war leider wirklich alle anders.. Nu ein leben mit einer Familie kaum zeit und wenn ich mich mal hinsetzte dann Gothic 1-2-3 und risen Soundtracks vorm Kamine. Wisst ihr noch? Damals schon Gothic und wie ich gehypte war als Risen kam... Diese Grafik und die Musik.. ich war so glücklich hahaha. ah man Peace out

Love the Risen soundtrack and this channel but anyone else feel like the bass is a little overtuned on this ambience? Especially around 18:20 min and several other times it's almost unpleasant to listen to

The best game after Gothic i mean only Risen 1 cuz 2 and 3 was a big mistakes
To me Risen 3 was the worse of them... Risen 3 and that pirate shit still going on.. graphics were made even more simple and the OST isn't as awesome as Risen 1 or 2. Risen 3 is a whole different game. Patty in there doesn't make the game Risen game. I didn't care much for the quests either.. it wasn't motivating. Risen 2 did a better job. But Risen 1 is still the big winner
I generally like your mixes. But this one is doing the excellent soundtrack a great disservice. The whole original soundtrack is just about 1h 4m long, so repeating few songs over and over, and over again for an hour gets really and aggressively repetitive.
