As Ray was sliding the pipe onto the particulate filter I was shouting “CLAMP” at my screen. 😂😂
If it was live we could all have shouted C L A M P !!!
Also what about exhaust sealing paste?
It was cut too short as well. Had to pull it out to fit the hard line back on. Barely hanging on there.
Yep, I suspect after that truck makes a few excursions we'll be seeing a return for an exhaust leak.
Yeah, I just sat back and waited.
Been waiting for part 3 of this Banks enhanced Dirty Max. Here's another vote for Banks making you an official authorised installer!
Beautiful truck. I laughed when u said "silverado towing a f-150 as it should be" lol
Banks seems like a quality company. Hats off to them.
They are. I used to work at a shop that bought kits from them wholesale and resold and/or installed them.
On today's episode, there are now 50 very happy people who have got a nice discount on their new Banks goodness.
Won't be long and Mr Banks himself will be stopping by with tips tricks and a whole catalog to make you a preferred installer. Not too bad. For all the trolls that said ray would be closed in 6 months, he's expanded and still backlogged. Great job brother
At this rate, pretty soon the only way you'll be able to get a non-emergency appointment with him in a "reasonable" amount of time is if you know a guy who knows a guy who ... 😎
One time at band clamp, Ray became a Banks installer when he had no intention of being one.
😂
While eating his dripping P&J sandwich at the school cafeteria, the other kids were shocked when Ray nonchalantly pulled out a can of Brake-Clean from his lunch bag and made everything nice and Shiny
Ray I know the Banks products work. The shiny new parts make it look faster too. It doesn’t matter what you do to a vehicle when you change spark plugs or anything else you want to feel the difference. If a customer comes in with Banks product and wants you to install and you promote them great. These videos are about teaching people how to work on their vehicles and for you to make money on them. I like watching your videos so it’s Great You make money on them. Have a good day Ray
Thanks for using only Banks parts, his parts are the best engineered stuff that take everything into consideration, stuff way over our normal heads. Watching his channel shows exactly why his stuff is the best, by a long shot...
I remember watching the whole development series on the diff cover. It's top notch engineering. Manufacturer had part of it right, Gale just perfected it.
Probably the only real improvement out of everything he replaced.
@@CodycoWebyou've got to be kidding right.... Banks has dyno tested every single performance part they make and will quite happily show the data that proves that it's far more than just eye candy.
Yeah I saw that too can't recall what it was on. Very interesting, Gale seems like a great guy with a pssion and commitment toward excellence.
@@hot_wheelzyou can make a dyno show whatever you want with enough runs
@@GrunttamerHave you ever even used a dynamometer in real life
Everything Banks has is well thought out and backed by testing and warranty. Some of the best aftermarket parts ever made.
You can leave more pipe on the filter, it will just go farther into the Banks pipe
Gale really did his homework on these systems. Kudos.
The banks Cover Warranty is nice i like that the ears will snap off if they get hit and the cover will still stay intact and functional 47:00 @Rainman Ray's Repairs
Those clouds were gorgeous at the end there! Must be Florida things. That Banks exhaust system looks very well designed. They do great research and engineer it right.
Yep, big pretty fluffy clouds, until they get over you and dump 5 inches of rain. Then the sun comes and it’s like nothing happened lol
@@sparkplug1018 Yeah, lol, we get mostly in July here in MT. Otherwise, it's either overcast, random small clouds, or nothing but blue sky. (minus the random cloud seeding).
This is not the first time I hear Rammstein in the background, great choice in music 😁.
L ove the attention to detail, making sure the sensor on the exhaust is not twisted, making sure the clamps are on in such a way that the binding does not show...it's professional and shows how much you care for your work/customer
Now if only he believed in fender covers. . .
I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the rear parking sensor and alignment feature are extremely accurate to this day! Nice install of the monster exhaust system and differential cover. Also, as others noted…”Prepare to smile” was a nice bonus on the exhaust box while opening!
Not to be a nit picker, but the inside of the box was not packed with Styrofoam, but was actually expandable urethane foam.
(I could not help myself, as I'm a retired polymer chemist. LOL Words.)
Dude that's why I watch your channel. You think ahead , And try to catch problems before they run over the top of you. The attention to detail is why hire a professional mechanic!! Excellent work!
Thats awesome banks gave a second Code for 15 percent off Since you sold out first video code 3:54 nice work Raymond @Rainman Ray's Repairs
I found this from a banks e-mail… and then when I saw Ray was featured I was immediately on de whey. Poppening ze hüd!
Prepare to Smile!! Another excellent Rainman Ray episode has been released! Bent and installed many exhaust systems in my day, but the BANKS Power exhaust piping kit was the easiest fit and install I've seen.
Prepare to smile is a result of hiring Ray as the marketing department manager.
Great work Ray, truck sounds amazing. I agree with you about reversing cameras. I teach my kids that they are a tool to be used but you still need to use mirrors and look around you as well
Side mirrors on (japanese models at least) vehicles are exceptionally useful. More than just a mirror, they can tell you when you’ve pulled up far enough in a space and even aide you in parallel parking. No extra add on tech, just common sense. Old school.
Oh sweet we back on the Silverado and Performace upgrades whoot whoot love these entertaining videos Raymond 0:51 I love me some upgrades @Rainman Ray's Repairs
Yeah, Banks baby!!
the Banks Ram Air Cover is a great investment for anyone towing heavy loads regularly.
Banks is one of, if not the best product for up grading a diesel vehicle.
Just now ordered my diff cover, I had looked in the past but that 15% off was the ticket, thank you Ray and Thank you Banks.
Looks and sounds great Ray! Enjoyed this video. Thanks!
Some of us have used old O-ring kits that had no pre-made O-rings. Had to cut them from long strips of material and make them .
Sure did…… cut to length and glue the ends together. Like back when brake jobs you put new cups in the wheel cylinders and new square cut o-rings and dust boots on caliper pistons as part of a regular brake job. Rolls of cork and paper sheeting to make most gaskets. The good ole days !!!
@@CodycoWeb right but you cut at an angle so the ring seals against itself, or so my trainer said.
Now that is some big pipes. I really liked the very blue sky with the storm system brewing. Beautiful!
Looks like the O ring popped out a little on the left side after Ray was done inserting it in the machined groove.
I have a Banks cat back on my truck. It was the 1st mod I did to it back in '08. Since then I replaced the muffler with a Borla XR1 and it sounds much better now. The packing material in the Banks muffler burnt up. (2005 Nissan Titan FBO + Up/Rev tune)
It’s a Manic Monday with Ray. This video is exhausting.😊
The exhaust looks good and Man thst Banks exhaust tip Makes it Look Sweet she going to sound way better from breathing and Exhaling better 25:19 @Rainman Ray's Repairs
This video is exhausting!!!
😂
I laughed my butt off because you forgot the clamp on the first pipe....😂
And the second pipe too...😂
I like to put the clamp nut on the top so that it doesn’t get damaged if going over a speed bump or tangled with tall grass. That makes it easier to take off just in case.
Really enjoyed the last clip, many years back I pulled three Ford f250's like a train off the mountain with my 1964 GMC half ton short box v6, they had gone to rescue one another, then called me!
on the way out of the parking lot that BANKS rear end cover shot was Sweetness, so was the tail tip
Great video! I had a bad mirror in my GTP and replaced with a Wolfbox dash cam! Not a strap on mirror. But it replaced the mirror mount! As from the reversing you can adjust those back up lines where you want but nothing replaces side view mirrors!
That is pretty nice of Banks!
thankyou Ray,another entertaining but informative upload,,have yourself a great week,👍👍
Love the background music!!
LSW!!
Enjoyed the video on the exhaust/diff Banks install. Another in my education on the diesel and DirtyMax systems. Not that I will probably ever work on them, it is still good for my brain to be exercised like this. I do like that the exhaust mod didn't make the inside of the truck over loud. I believe you stated there would be a tuner episode in this series. I think any platform making mods like this, be it diesel or gas, should do them. Changing from the factory parts makes the computer see air and exhaust different. Thanks again for a great video, Ray!
Nice work Ray !
It’s always satisfying when gravity makes your job easier
Nice Video ! Thanks - Cool truck .
When you open the exhaust box 📦 it said: prepare to smile 😃
Ray says, "Look at that nice Silverado towing a F350 dually as it should be!" BWAHAHAHAHAHA 😍
Love the Prepare to smile on the box Upgrade goodies always makes me smile 😊 5:19 nice Touch Gale Banks @Rainman Ray's Repairs
Really Like your honestly about the Commission. Thanks from Canada
Prepare to smile ! You can put that on your shop's wall. Great video again Ray ! Greetz from Netherlands.
Banks is great. We need more support for quality companies that don’t mind educating people.
I used that discount. And after three days, I love my pedal monster and iDash. Gonna order a tunner next. I wish they had a rear diff cover that fits my f150
As it went on, my mind was screaming CLAMP, but my brain was saying "Lets see when he spots it" 😅 Also the left hand brake clamp he put ontop of the diff cover. He put the right hand one on, but ......😉
That sounds real good.
I think that exhaust tip needs to be rotated a touch 😳! I love Banks products, have their headers on my Cherokee. 🇺🇸
I watched banks video on that rear diff. Cover and that cover is an engineering marvel. And you don't have to justify yourself about Banks products they sell themselves because they all work.
About 20 years ago my wife and I were driving on a two lane highway at night at 55 in a Maxima and a logging truck had overturned over a hill. I could not stop and straddled a log between the wheels. No after issues. Sometimes it happens. God was with us.
I looked up Banks for stuff that I could fit to the wife's MG3 Excite. I was out of luck though. 😂
Awesome video!
Appreciate the 15% off discount - purchased the Monster Ram Air Intake kit (2011 Ram 2500 6.7).
Good morning to you ray keep up the good work 💪🏻
Good job making sure with the lift. I just read and saw pics of a brand new Corvette at a dealership that fell off the lift. The article said techs are in a hurry, and not used to rear engine cars.
Bet no Pizza Party😮💨
It's a mid-engine vehicle, but I catch your drift. 😉
Needed someone to catch the car.😅😅😅😅
Nice job. I will have to order one for my truck. 😊
Nice upgrade for this truck, like to see the install for the electronics good job.
Ray thats super nice banks makes some nice stuff
I really enjoyed this video keep up the great work brother
Another fantastic video look forward to all future events 👍👍👍👍💯💯
A portion of the diff cover gasket slipped out of its groove at 37:52 (left side as it's resting face-up on your cart) -- hope you spotted that prior to the reinstallation.
I saw that too. I was thinking it'd leak during the road test.
You are very good TH-camrs, I love your contents.
The review mirror feature is cool I don't use the cameras or sensors knowing how to use your eyes and look helps getting used to looking at screens and cameras can be bad when they fail if you rely on them 100 percent most people don't know how to look they just use the cameras it's sad these days 50:20 @Rainman Ray's Repairs
Great video ray!!! Thanks!!!
Hey Ray great video, so glad I tuned in 💯
You can get a Flo pro stainless "not aluminized" exhaust system for 25% Less. 1.25% Horsepower increase with the tailpipe addition on our dyno. Although I'm not sold on all of overhyped Banks products. I do agree that that differential cover is a great design!
amen on the tow job
Good idea to re tighten the exhaust clamps. They will loosen a bit.
Keeping it PG, there are so many ,"that's what she said moments"
Love Banks products. I have them on my truck. Great video.
Nicely done sir
Isn't the oem exhaust tip designed to cool the hot exhaust when the truck goes into regen? How does the Banks system get around that? Just wondering.
Ha.. you missing that first clamp was bugging me... lol. Glad you caught it.
Like the 'head up display'... I've got one on my Citroen Berlingo XTR!
This is pretty neat!
Love this truck. Banks makes it more awesomer. Hope the owner springs for some Fox shocks.
Those back-up cameras are great when backing up to trailers.
those seats that vibrate i could do with some to easy my back pain and thos clamps we use them as they are far better than the thin clamps nice job and thanks for the very informative video
I just came across DavesAutoCenter. He made a good point about the Duramax 6.6’s engine’s timing you really check since this one and yours may have this defect. Just an FYI
Nice.
I have a bottle of DEF in my garage and I don't own a diesel.. DEF is made from deionized water and urea. It makes for cheap liquid fertilizer since the urea is nitrogen. The N of the NPK on the fertilizer package.
Interesting. How do you use it?
Banks, duramax central... They watch what Ray puts on his truck then they want the same. Perfect.
Gale Banks has been a legend since I was a kid in the 1970's and got even better in the 80s when he got heavy into turbocharging.
Now he's extra into making sure that he tells everyone that it's bad to delete your truck. I know he's trying to keep the government away, but it's annoying. At least there's still companies making turbo back exhaust and down pipes.
On today's episode, a Florida man working wonders on another vehicle.
Just a simple parts install buddy. Not that deep. Still entertaining though!!
Working wonders. A monkey could do what he has just done to that inbred vehicle.
@dannyr3346 you would be surprised on how so many people can screw up a simple parts install.
@ryankbond Going on your first comment. You must be one of them.
@@-CLUMSYDIYer- what's that supposed to mean? I usually do my own work. But if I know I can't do something or don't have the right tools or equipment, I am not against getting help.
"Ray's Auto Repair and Speed Shop, an authorized Banks Power installation station -- services by appointment only" 😁
Morning mate
5:25 that's an assault letter opener!😂
17:10 made me check my phone lol
Nice K - 3500 . I Like !
@36:20 Learnt that you can shrink seal gaskets a little by boiling it for a brief few seconds in clean water.
