What a great song! We go through many bad moons if we live long enough. Music like this has the energy to get us through the bad moons. Thanks, always, John Fogerty and CCR!
We've already had the earthquakes (southern Idaho, 2020/03/31) and plenty of flooding ("Rivers overflowing" in lots of places). Right now just about every media outlet is "the voice of rage and ruin." Forecast for hurricane season predicts an active one. So far it's one of THOSE years...
August 2020. Fires in the west. Hurricanes in the east. Protests and riots...and general upheaval. Political turmoil, explosions in Beirut....and oh! That covid-19 thing! Yeah....this is the theme song!
I remember listening to this song really loud with the windows down in some broken down old Ram while I look at the gray skies of a storm in the distance. With a faded religious channel preacher in the background. Simply blissful.

Happy 50th anniversary to this classic vintage hit of CCR's! It was released right around this time in 1969, right around the time I was born, in fact. I just turned the big 5-0 ten days ago, on April 14, Palm Sunday in fact. Although it did not make the top ten songs of 1969, in my opinion it should have. Thanks for posting AND including the lyrics!
My girl brought me here. I watched it again a few days ago and heard the song, now i have heard it before as I do watch a lot of old classic films and tv shows, but I never reminded my self to find the song till now.😊👍👌
You know, for such an ominous and dark song, I can listen to it at any time, any day, for as many times as I like, and it always, always helps me relax and puts me in a good mood.
Well im totally in Love with Mafia 2 Since its Release, And i just couldnt stand to finally play a new mafia game after so many years awaiting. Soundtrack and the Sidestory with Vito, Seeing Joe and recognizing Galante and stuff.. Got me good. Although the Middle part of the story (Kill guys to get the bigger guy in town, Kill the bigger guy to get the biggest guy in town, take over district) Kinda got a bit hangy, but the sountrack, Atmosphere and Graphics made it for me.
the song is NOT about the vietnam war: As the opening riff rolled from his fingers, a lyrical theme began to form in Fogerty’s head. “I’d come up with the chords and melody,” he recalls, “and I got the phrase ‘bad moon rising’ from this little book I’d kept song titles in since 1967. I didn’t even know what it meant, I just liked how the words sounded. “Then I remembered one of my favourite old movies - a black-and-white 1941 film called The Devil And Daniel Webster, shot in that spooky, film noir way they did back then. It’s a classic tale where the main character, who’s down on his luck, meets the Devil and sells his soul to him. The scene I liked is where there’s a devastating hurricane; furniture, trees, houses, everything’s blowing around. That story and that look really stuck in my mind and they were the germ for the song.” Naturally, given the times, there was a subtext to the apocalyptic climate conditions described in Bad Moon Rising. “I don’t think I was actually saying the world was coming to an end,” Fogerty says, “but the song was a metaphor. I wasn’t just writing about the weather. “The times seemed to be in turmoil. Martin Luther King and [US senator] Robert F Kennedy had been assassinated. I knew it was a tumultuous time.”
But it's perfectly fit when you have to slaughter. What does it actually matter to end a life sooner. We all need to die sooner or later. But I agree it's originated from Bible teaching started as a gospel I believe.
