I love Faouzia and this is one my favorite songs! It is true, the stripped and live versions of her songs are incredible, she is a very unique singer/songwriter. I would suggest the stripped version of Tears of gold, and either the stripped or live version of You don't even know me. For a different experience with a lot of arabic elements, you could listen to her live performance of Sting's "Desert rose" in Abu Dhabi 🙂
The "sliding all over the octave" that you mention, I think what you are referring to is called melisma and yes, many artists overdo it. She pronounces it FOE-zee-ya.
Believe me, Faouzia , is very dynamic and not as straightforward as you think, lol. It’s what I love about her. She does the runs, the riffs, the whistles, anything that you’re aware of that a singer can do when are full of talent.
"Faouzia is more straightforward" - I think this is because you haven't yet experienced a "Stripped" or Live version of her singing! Looking forward to it! Again I recommend "How It All Works Out (Stripped)" and "Bad Dreams (Stripped)" for starters!
The minefields was awesome 😊👌🏼😃👏

Stick around. I'll be reacting to more!
