I fell in love with this song when I heard it which led me to research Leonard Cohen, I have this song in my play list and some of his other songs, happy birthday Mr Cohen ❤thankyou ❤
Beautiful. But will still never top Leonard Cohen's or k.d. Lang's versions. Nobody did it like these two Canadians. Nobody will ever ever replace Leonard Cohen. He was a legend.
Boston came through beautifully! The sheer power of the Montreal video, however, was thrilling...In this video, the young boy singing with such obvious emotion was beautiful to see. Love both videos!!
@@timkearns5788 Not the case. We sang 6 other songs throughout the evening, learning the parts for a few minutes before each one. Hallelujah took a little longer, about 25 minutes to get it right. This was my 3 rd show so far and they are so much fun and so moving!

Ummmm… I don’t think so. Chord just rhymes with Lord… sorry. It is a typical religious chord progression, however. Esp. with “hallelujah” being sung. David was a musician, too.
@@karenholland330 Sure Karen. There are no unused chord progressions, and biblical references abound. You missed the forest through the trees, but you are certainly welcome to your opinion.
Many think this “Hallelujah” makes this about religion -- but if you listen to the words it really is quite sensual …. Which arguably could be interpreted as a divine experience ….
@dbridge12 hahaha, not spiritual, he's such a naughty composer.... hallelujah David saw a bathing woman and baffled to see such scenery, lol, 😮 Obviously, a good composer, lust.. a beautiful song though
It’s about sex - but using biblical words. A blend of sex and religion. Leonard Cohen has other songs like that as well. It’s also fine to think of it as spiritual. Music can be whatever people feel.
The Divine God does not approve sex outside marriage. Forrnication, adultary is a sin. Linking it to God being a biblical story based on David, a servant of God. If you are really close to God knowing his words, his will, you won't be saying so. An opinion, who you are or good feelings of the song won't change God's Word.. David, a good servant of God, falted in many ways. God forgave him, God knows the heart of David, as a good heart brought him close to him cos he does his will despite his sins. David goes back and asks for forgiveness and makes atonement of his sins. The Word of God is what it is. It can't be changed by any man or by any man's opinion.
Search for Mr Cohen singing this masterpiece in a small setting here on TH-cam. He sings it as slow as a funeral durge. His tempo is very slow and beautiful.
Leonard Cohen's " Hallajuhah" is about the story of King David, revealing the Biblical words "Flesh is Weak but the Spirit willing " God called David a " Wom" for the weakness of his flesh but called him as a "man after my own heart" for his Spirit However the 1972 classic " aha aha aha Hallajuhah" in the Malayalam language - The Laughter of God -- Father Son, Holy Spirit,
@ramonacapp Itnot presented here as being a religious song, and Leonard never presented it as such; however, it is indeed a spiritual song and always has been.
The words and sentiment and poetry and chord progression - all make it a classic that appeals on many levels. But if you ask me (and nobody ever does), I'd declare his Story of Isaac as his most profound and most important and most ageless and most impeccable work.
It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.
Me too.
Same here. Absolutely beautiful.
Tears will flow, when a song effects your soul.
Wow! Just imagine the power they felt all around them while singing. ❤
YES! And we can feel a part of that power through christ! Amen.
I was there with my best friend and it was one of the most gorgeous, heart lifting experiences ever
@sariboren9978 Wow, what a wonderful experience for you! Just listening to it makes me cry with sadness and joy combined.
It was a joyful evening - thanks again to Choir,Choir,Choir for allowing us generally non-singers to be part of something so beautiful
Bless your hearts, we loved your voice among all those who sang there on that day... may God bless you and yours always!
Thank you for the beautiful performance. God bless you all from Perth Australia 🇦🇺 ❤❤❤. May God bring peace to our broken world especially in Israel.

Nobody said it would. Way to be a negatory extra downer.
A truly amazing talent, and so proud of his Canadian roots.xo

In ten years they need to do this again with more people singing it.
We sang this tonight at Mt Baker theater in Washington. What a wonderful experience.
To conduct that choir, now THAT's a master!!

Doesn’t humanity throw up incredible extremes from the beauty and genius of L Cohen to the evil of some so called leaders in our world today
Awesome 💯
