It's a shame he retired when he did. Can you imagine the antics and mania he'd have subjected us to during COVID. I miss him, but I'm glad he didn't die screaming like I always thought he would.
Ron Bennington was great in the beginning with Ron and Ron in the 1980s. and almost 30 years later, Ron Bennington is still one of the greatest men in radio!.Ronnie B!
The call about the "self-fulfilling prophecy" was perfect. This segment needs to be saved, and used in order to teach others about what it exactly means.
Ron starts shouting at 00:15:28. I wanted to get this up ASAP so I didn't include the last 5 minutes where Ron wraps up the show and talks about Fez, listen here: th-cam.com/video/oxwnePWBb3Y/w-d-xo.html
Man I forgot this was the single greatest radio segment to ever hit the airwaves. "Cajun Steak" "Bullet in their pocket" "It's a fine cookie" "If fez ever puts a bullet in me I've got it coming" So much gold.
Yeah Sam WOn...... king of the shittiest Channel on XM now. UGH. SXM as a whole is pretty much over johnny. Hell they keep offering me and my wife 5 $ buck a month for a year deals..... same price I paid in 2005.
Fezzy's so trapped in his own head he's already totally made up his mind before he enters a situation and is only looking to hear the things that give his thoughts validation. He'll twist words and put thoughts in people's head and just flat out ignore contradictions. Ron yelling reminds me of my father yelling, it gave me that old twinge of worry when I heard it.
U mean that fat middle aged creep pretending to be Anthony's cat? And saying how cool "his" life is.. it's honestly one of the most deranged things I've seen.
I almost feel bad for Fez, but then I remember that he's making quite a few nickles being a standalone fruit on a fairly big time radio show. Free ride's over, pal.
Nothing is better than when Ron snaps on Fez. It rarely happens as Ron is a saint among radio personalities, but its always fun. The best is the ''You don't ever tell me what to say'' clip.
Even though they aren't operating under the guise of a comedy show this is still fascinating radio. I don't think I've been this excited to tune in to a radio show since ever. It almost reminds me of the later seasons of Breaking Bad, where shit is all coming unraveled and you just have a gut feeling that it won't end well.
1:01:46 “I don’t want it to change.” Imagine being Ron and thinking that Fez wants you to stay in this cycle of doubt, paranoia and anger for a further 3 years....Oof
I heard this show when I first started listening to Ron and Fez about 7 months ago and found it very captivating and interesting the combative and hostile dynamic the 2 of them had. However, for the past month and a half I’ve been binge listening to all of the WNEW shows from 2001/2002. Coming back and listening to this again, it truly breaks my heart hearing how Fezzy’s mental health declined and the amount of paranoia and low self esteem he was living with. Fez used to be just as quick/funny as Ron, if not more so. Rest In Peace to the Big Cat. Best radio show ever!
I haven't heard begging like that since Edgar tried to get the Mafia to give him some water before they offed him in the presidential suite of the Stardust...
I loved the Ron & Fez show but listening to isolated instances where Fez truly was losing it, it becomes clear what the real issue was. Something changed in Fez, and it's clear that his ego and love for Ron trumped everything else. To Fez, nothing was a problem, because Ron was his rock and they made it to satellite radio. As long as he had Ron, Fez was set. In his mind, their relationship meant not having to take his job seriously. Ron obviously cares about Fez a lot, but Ron knew that when the microphones were on, he was working.
I think fez lost his mind when he invited his 80 year old parents to NY so he could tell them his secret. On a friday show he was excited to see them and talk to his parents. On monday there was no fez and ron said it might be a while until he came back because his father died of a heart attack over the weekend. Fez's dad was a church deacon and very religious.
It's been years and I still can't decide if this was the greatest, longest, most elaborate work in radio history or Fezzy is the most broken fucking individual I've ever heard. Either way, radio fucking GOLD!
I'm an O&A now just an A listener. Starting to get into ron and fez. Never listened much but when fez started crying was that whole thing a bit? I know he has a lot of breakdowns and stuff but damn. I got uncomfortable when he started crying saying, "don't do this don't let them break us"
bonchbonch This is very true. O&A have even been quoted saying they have no clue what's a work or not on their show. I think that's the beauty of it. If I knew Fez crying was always a work I'd hate that.
As paranoid as Fez was, this meeting was really the beginning of the company setting themselves up to get rid of him. It's amazing that they let him do almost nothing on air for, what, 7 or 8 years?
I listened to this in the car the other day. My favorite line was from Pepper Hicks (WTG!). While talking about the steak dinner, Fez says that Tim mentions that they like working with "You", but it wasn't a plural you. Pepper steps in with "He said Yous?" Hilarious. You win!
This was a loooooooooooooooong time coming. The worst part is all the people that used to talk and make this show great like Earl, ESD, Lilly, all the interns etc.... bit the bullet during this 5 years of sadness tour they've been on.
Listening this again for the first time since listening live, it's odd. I remember exactly where I was during specific moments in this (At Walmart, at a traffic light, in the garage, etc) I almost felt like I was getting yelled at. It apparently had some impact on me that I didn't realize until now!
I listen to Ron & Fez every weekday and I have to say, I do support and encourage Fez, but this is getting out of hand! I tune in to be entertained, not bummed out. Fez, your insecurities are affecting the show. You're an awesome host but you need to reach down and bring that man back to the surface for all of us to enjoy and I'm sure you'll be happy as well.
Yeah, I love R&F they were great back in the day, but holy god damn. Fez is a broken, BROKEN man. He needs help and he needs to get off the air. Ronny B can shine on~
I’m glad fezzie got to spend the last few years of his life back down in Florida
THANKYOU
Me too, pal
It's a shame he retired when he did. Can you imagine the antics and mania he'd have subjected us to during COVID. I miss him, but I'm glad he didn't die screaming like I always thought he would.
I'm just glad we dont have to hear him cry and complain all the time I bet ron is too
Rest in piss
currently my favorite thing to do is sit in bed w/ my legs crossed listening to ron & fez vids and eating dinner. best part of youtube.
Sicko
Ahh buddy
What a cakehorn
🐥👍 cherish the memories
Ron Bennington was great in the beginning with Ron and Ron in the 1980s. and almost 30 years later, Ron Bennington is still one of the greatest men in radio!.Ronnie B!
Fez - "Send it over to the Radio and TV Museum"
Ron - "yeah and they have a dead air section"
Me - OUCH!
I fucking lost it at "They have a dead air section"....Ron is the best.
The call about the "self-fulfilling prophecy" was perfect. This segment needs to be saved, and used in order to teach others about what it exactly means.
The caller mentioning the blueberry incident, the long silence, and fez exploding is fucking hilarious.
35:10
"Put it in the radio and TV museum." "Yeah, they have a 'dead air' section."
You're So Vain, you Probably Think This Meal is About You (feat. Tim Sabean)
What an underrated comment...this deserved so much more. Well done, sir.
@@subgrappling805 Holy shit, That's Terrific, that's terrific, 👏👏👏👏
Fez couldn't eat his, cuz it was extra spicy, it was extra spicy 🎵
Has this become a holiday tradition for anyone else?
+Matthew Brotchie all of this, every thanksgiving meltdown as well as Now every March I include the Cakehorn saga.
Oh my god, I didnt realize this until now
It takes me out of the family drama
I fucking love this shit
March is for Cakehorn, Then Jocktober, Thanksgiving Fezzie, then the Awkward Christmas
Ron starts shouting at 00:15:28.
I wanted to get this up ASAP so I didn't include the last 5 minutes where Ron wraps up the show and talks about Fez, listen here: th-cam.com/video/oxwnePWBb3Y/w-d-xo.html
Thanks man!
Is about time Ron flipped out on Fez. Long overdue.
Thank you for this Clip, the cookie live read alone is one of the funniest things Ive heard come out of Fez's mouth in 5 years or so.
I just got my Audible download and this entire hour is cut out (I'd assume at Fez's request/demand), so even more thanks for having this up!
You're blowin' up today, God. Probably one of the most viewed R&F videos ever, which I say having done the barest minimum of research.
The caller that chimed in and brought up blueberries to Fez had me rolling.
Man I forgot this was the single greatest radio segment to ever hit the airwaves.
"Cajun Steak"
"Bullet in their pocket"
"It's a fine cookie"
"If fez ever puts a bullet in me I've got it coming"
So much gold.
saddest read about cookies i've ever heard
You'd think they would have pre-recorded Fez's live reads, considering he locked up so much.
This is the greatest radio I've listened to in so long.
shame that Gems like this used to happen at least weekly.....
“If Fez puts a bullet in me, I got it coming” Ronnie B is a fucking legend
The chemistry of this ron and fez show is like tennis: ron states some true facts and fez replies with a paranoid random thought.
God bless Ronnie B
I'll say this: that's good radio.
Holds up in 2021
F'ing Beautiful
Fez is dead… Fez is dead,
@@elihub123 or is he? Just saying, he's the king of works.
@@justing7490 I'm just saying.... if you listen to the benningtons show like the day after he "allegedly" died it seems pretty legit
As Fez cries Sam Roberts is in his car with a huge smile on his face, he says out loud "I win!" and laughs.
***** I was listening this morning to O&A and boy were they letting him have it. LOL
Yeah Sam WOn...... king of the shittiest Channel on XM now. UGH. SXM as a whole is pretty much over johnny. Hell they keep offering me and my wife 5 $ buck a month for a year deals..... same price I paid in 2005.
That dumb phuk probably really did do that in his car.
46:20 is when the commerical for Mrs.Fields starts...amazing.
The caller at 35:00 about blueberries. The best.
Lmfao! That timestamp is perfect because of the solid 9 seconds of dead air before anyone talks where you wonder if you computer just froze!
tankmaster1018 exactly! Lmao
Followed by LITERALLY 15 seconds of dead air lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fezzy's so trapped in his own head he's already totally made up his mind before he enters a situation and is only looking to hear the things that give his thoughts validation. He'll twist words and put thoughts in people's head and just flat out ignore contradictions.
Ron yelling reminds me of my father yelling, it gave me that old twinge of worry when I heard it.
The hardest episode to listen to now that Fezzie is gone. RIP, buddy. We love you.
2018 and it's still one of the best radio segments ever
@Maggot Giver everything has been gold in 2020!
2021
Every time I listen to R&F, I have to check to see if the video ended at least five times.
Line of the century: "I prefer angry Fez to this"
Like a train-wreck surrounded by a plane crash wrapped in a tragedy
Like a plane crashing on top of a train wreck during a tornado while passing thru a little town called Chernobyl.
Like a puddle of aids
"You're under-dressed for radio . . . you're going to embarrass me in front of the other people throwing stuff out at the dump" LOL
Poor Ron. I am a new listener and the only time I hear Fez talk is when it is about him and his issues!!
4 years later, this is still the best radio moment ever on xm
9 years too buddy. 😃
Jay Mohr putting hot sauce in East Side Dave’s ass is a close second.
Goodnight, sweet prince.
Now Opie is the standalone fruit.
The best part of this entire clip: when Fez referred to the dinner meeting as "the going-away party."
This was just retweeted by none other than Opie himself; Steven, you are truly loved.
U mean that fat middle aged creep pretending to be Anthony's cat? And saying how cool "his" life is.. it's honestly one of the most deranged things I've seen.
@@PollosHermanos1 Who?
I almost feel bad for Fez, but then I remember that he's making quite a few nickles being a standalone fruit on a fairly big time radio show. Free ride's over, pal.
At least his mental decay was good radio.
57:30 "no one ever says to Ant, "you're good to OPIE" something about that both amused me & saddened me terribly.
Is it just me or did Fez sound just like Stevie when he was pleading with Kenny Powers on "Eastbound and Down"?
Friday the 13th November 2020 and still listening to Ron and Fez
42:33 “there is no such thing as plastic paper” For some reason will always make me laugh
I lost it when Fez did the commercial read 😂
This is so depressing.
It’s been years since I’ve delved back into R&F, and the awkward silences brought me right back. Goddamn that’s sadly hilarious
Ron held on way longer than anyone else would have
I remember hearing this live. I swear to God it was the 1st I i realized, "Oh shit! This isn't a bit."
"Freeze up talking about blueberries one fucking time and it's everyone's fucking bible now."
Ron is a saint to put up with this for so long and just now get mad at fez. Simply amazing.
Great stuff as always, my friend.
"It's a fine cookie."
I heard this show when I first started listening to Ron and Fez about 7 months ago and found it very captivating and interesting the combative and hostile dynamic the 2 of them had. Fez was the man, he was hilarious and fearless and it is such a bummer that something in his head just broke at the end of his career.
I haven't heard begging like that since Edgar tried to get the Mafia to give him some water before they offed him in the presidential suite of the Stardust...
I never imagined being saddened by a cookie commercial.
Your moms box.
You're awesome for getting these R&F videos up, and for everything else.
Around 16:00 is where shit gets super real and you can hear Ron has clearly reached his limits
I loved the Ron & Fez show but listening to isolated instances where Fez truly was losing it, it becomes clear what the real issue was. Fez crying during the cookie commercial was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.
The half crying cookie commercial is what got me
I'm not a regular Ron & Fez listener but damn this broke my heart.

i know someone that acts a lot like fez. absolutely ignorant of what they do... it's goddamn infuriating.
Opie? Is that you?
Thinking of Mrs. Field's always makes me emotional. Good job by Fez, the stand alone fruit.

Fez truly is a "stand alone fruit".
Ronny B is a fucking saint, to put up with all his on air shit, bit or not.
I hope something good comes out of this. Ron deserves better.
Listening to fezzie cry in this is like a fucking movie. I have never heard anything like it in my life.
I always thought Fez was the worlds longest bit, without a payoff. Then when Ron killed the 3rd wall today, I realize, Fez really is bat shit crazy.
Great, now I associate Mrs. Fields cookies with horrible, horrible grief.
RIP Fez
35:50 - "well let's talk about blueberries"....."fuck you" - hahaha!
