From start to finished this was most enjoyable buddy !! The softer tones do it for me on this one but still love love love the direct light shots aswell !! 👏👏
Man, this video just made me happy... I dont know if it was the music that made me feel like I was watching a happy scene from a Disney movie, along with my need for a trip, but I loved it!
Awesome 1st image, love the pano, must admit love both types of light. Just goes to show how different the image will be at different times of the day nice one.
These are some cracking images. The one you described as a mirror image triggered my vertigo, something about that soft out of focus look in the center of the image made me think I would fall out of my chair. Beautiful place and beautiful photos.
Amazing shots Michael! A technical question; @4:18, given you are using a tripod you chose a 6.3 aperture which is less sharp as f11. Did you chose the 6.3 aperture to minimise any risk of camera shake when shooting with extreme focal lengths, even when the is no wind ?
Great visual aspect the Mesquite Dunes. Perfect for a clear sunrise. Plus the "Lawrence of Arabia" stye music was fitting ;-). Both the muted pre sunrise and crisp shadow images work.
Love the soft light sunrise pictures better. The colors pre-sunrise are somewhat magical, hues of pink and magenta are something I didn't know existed before I got into photography. Same with sunset too, every time when on a popular sunset spot, when sun has set and people start to leave and hardly experience the post sunset hues. Breaks my heart !
You done did it, Michael. Now this makes me want to take a trip to Death Valley for some photography. Incredible photos! I took a trip to the Anza-borrego because I'm closer to this region than DV. Went to the Borrego Badlands. Best desert shots I've ever captured! I didn't have a chance to check out the "Pumpkin Patch" but that will be next on my list. Looking forward to the next video.
I NEVER tire of your images, for a few years now. Seascapes, fog, dunes, lightning storms, here&there's. Wasn't sure I wanted to see more of your dune shots, I was so wrong. Every direction of view, every hour of light, I've loved it all in this episode. Thought I loved the subtle morning light and pale pastels, but as the day wore on it was just one surprise after another. Thanks Michael.
I love abstract landscape photography, it allows your imagination run wild and free 😁 Your beautiful images are the best example of this. Amazing compositions 👍
Excellent Video Michael, I love how relaxed you are and go with the flow of the session. Brilliant, will be watching all of your videos. Quite like the soft tones on the Dunes before Sunrise, however the one with them side lit is pretty special as well.
What an amazing and stunning series of photographs. Your presentation here is spot on. You totally captured your emotion and thought process of creating these images. I loved the silver/gold images from the morning shoot. The subtle purple in the shadows is beautiful.
Oh my goodness Michael all these images are simply exquisite! It’s so hard to pick a favourite. To come away with so many incredible images is amazing.
Nicely balanced musical orchestration with the video. You really have grown in your presentation and choreography. I think it's time you found a new set of challenges through collaboration with others.
Sometimes it seems very simple, pointing the camera at some abstract things and shoot the heg. But i now it’s not, you’v gotta “have the eye” to see the photo and wait for the right light. You shure do have that skill Michael. Beautiful images. Thnx
Certainly liked your extra wide four image panorama. Wondering Michael, In this case what was the overlap on the four shots ? Thanks for sharing again, hope too see more soon. Stay safe 🇦🇺
You always get killer images with your 100-400mm. Super inspiring but I just wish I had some dunes to play in where I live. Looking forward to getting out with my camera regardless. Thanks for the content Michael!
Wow. Your work with the dunes has got to be among my favorite photography ever. Made a trip across the country to Death Valley for the first time a couple of months ago. What a park! But I found the Mesquite dunes overcrowded and full of footprints. You must be visiting different dunes? Alas, I need to get back out to do more exploring!
Really enjoyed it Michael! You my friend are the Dune Jedi - pure magic man!
Thanks so much Mark, hope you are doing well :)
Superb as always! 4.15 looks like clouds in the upper part. Terrific!
Thank you for sharing this morning mood.
Always a joy!
Thanks :)
2:12 wow it's like a painting 🎨😍
Great stuff! 👍🥂
Thank you!
Yeah! Dunes FTW! I love that so many photographers can go to those dunes and come away with such a variety of images. Creativity rocks!
From start to finished this was most enjoyable buddy !! The softer tones do it for me on this one but still love love love the direct light shots aswell !! 👏👏
Absolutely love the variety of light over the dunes. Fantastic!🤗👌🏼👍🏼
Thanks Irene!
Man, this video just made me happy... I dont know if it was the music that made me feel like I was watching a happy scene from a Disney movie, along with my need for a trip, but I loved it!
As ever Michael, Heart warming photography.
Great photos, but my favorite was the first photo before sunrise can wait for the next video...enjoy and stay safe....
Definitely pre sunrise…great shot with the 100-400
Awesome to see this video, and to teach with you at Out of Chicago Death Valley!
The predawn colors look surreal!
Your videos are pleasure to watch, I get immersed in them and feel as if I am floating along....
Amazing work Michael 👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks for watching Patricio, I really appreciate it!
Beautiful images from my favorite Bay Area photographer!
Excellent work! DV is one of the best spots for telephoto landscape images.
Absolutely stunning pictures! I like the soft tones before sunrise best. The tone fits the dunes characters.
Really relax when I watching your video, good job Michael
Nice video. Your dunes photographs remind me of the Palouse in WA. Your pre-sunlight dawn dune photographs have a lovely pastel feel.
Absolutely gorgeous photos, I'm charmed. I'd love to see you edit these photos.🙏

These are some cracking images. The one you described as a mirror image triggered my vertigo, something about that soft out of focus look in the center of the image made me think I would fall out of my chair. Beautiful place and beautiful photos.
Great abstract photos, Michael!
All amazing work but that first soft light shot…”BAM”!!! Love it!
The image at 9:47 is spectacular 👌

Beautiful! I’ve always loved the valley even though I have not been back in years. I’ve still got pictures on my wall that I took 47 years ago.
Great visual aspect the Mesquite Dunes. Perfect for a clear sunrise. Plus the "Lawrence of Arabia" stye music was fitting ;-). Both the muted pre sunrise and crisp shadow images work.
Phenomenal shots, couldn't agree more with the comments on the variety of light over the dunes!
I like the contrast of the darker pictures! Nicely done, all are great!
Hi Michael, stunning images!!

Pre-sunrise light over the Dunes is definite my favorite.
Again a video full of wonderful and inspiring images👌
Fantastic (as always!)
quiet magnificence. extraordinary shots.

Same with sunset too, every time when on a popular sunset spot, when sun has set and people start to leave and hardly experience the post sunset hues. Breaks my heart !
Nice one mate :) I've gotta get out amongst those dunes some day!
Some really cool images Michael. My favourites are probably the first images with the soft pink light. Nice video.
the first image is just amazing - well done! I did love them all .. but that soft light is just incredible
Beautiful images mate,

Looking forward to the next video.
Beautiful images! I like both soft and dramatic light shots, but soft light has an ethereal feel to it.

Excellent Video Michael, I love how relaxed you are and go with the flow of the session. Brilliant, will be watching all of your videos. Quite like the soft tones on the Dunes before Sunrise, however the one with them side lit is pretty special as well.
very well done
What a gorgeous and varied collection! I can never pick a favorite of your work. Makes me wish I were more of an early riser though!
Great shots, Michael! I also have the Sigma 100-400 DG DN and I love it. I like your choice of music as well.
In this scenario i love the bottom left image. Its such a minimalistic image with still alot going on and the pastel colours are just beautiful!
¡Qué buena pesca!
What an amazing and stunning series of photographs. Your presentation here is spot on. You totally captured your emotion and thought process of creating these images.
I loved the silver/gold images from the morning shoot. The subtle purple in the shadows is beautiful.
