    😂I got a chuckle from the cap and ball revolver versus an AR comment. Other than that your remarks are well grounded and truthful. God bless you brother.

    A great video. Thank you for your military service. I'm of the Vietnam vintage. I am a mountain man, living in a small cabin in the woods. Bushcraft is my middle name. LOL

    I grew up in the Smoky Mountains and the Adirondack mountains..I'm not a mountain man, I'm a country boy and we will also survive..
    Mr . Logan, thank you for your service..
    Keep up these great videos, and yes I am "binge" watching
    .I'm recovering from spinal fusion
    .but still using ferrocerium rod and fat wood to start small fires. Don't tell the wife that's how her cookie sheet got burned. Lol
    Stay safe

      Oh man, I hope your recovery goes well. Spinal fusion is rough.
      Glad to hear you are enjoying the channel. Your secret is safe with me in regards to the cookie sheet. I am guilty of destroying a few of the wife’s things as well over the years.. haha.

      I feel you. That is a pet peeve of mine as well. Thanks for subscribing and commenting!
      On a side note: Looking back I wish I hadn’t gotten my tattoo when I was in service either. Would rather someone couldn’t see military on me unless I told them, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t an honor to serve my country.

      It is cringy. However, the word "militia" literally means a military force. So you can't be surprised by the trend. You really don't have an argument.

    If i could ever some up two amazing guides, teachers or humble men who live the way of humble smart living in the WORLD we NEED to keep ALIVE. You and Mick Dodge have been the only two men who i found in my life searching for much more than our modern world can give. You found The Humble path to living strong in our earth.
    Mountain are all the same, we are creatures of nature. From the Birds that fly above to the Bears that roam on the ground, they are our brothers of the land. Thank you for posting this video. Its much to say but ive been lost in my controlled mind by our modern world for many years and today typing this you helped me further by showing me i dont have to follow a modern made path but path to the past where we as MEN AND WOMEN of the world have forgotten how to be humble, smart and vigilant. Thank you again and Thank You sir for your service! It wont go unnoticed and unsaid.

    I grew up in the mountains as a kid then the swamps as a teen then the cities as an adult and there are many merits to what you are saying rings so true it might as well come from the good book. But don't forgetvmountain men aren't the only rough tough Icelanders around I would like to add to your video swamp men mountain men they are all well and good as are prairie men of Oklahoma but really since all three of these types do travel one should learn to be all three but again man great video good food for thought . itnk someone should call you chef as you are contsanly cooking up food for thought

    Question is how I could make enough money to support my family and still do this more often.
    Been homeless in Arizona before and I've used a few basics from these skill sets because I refuse a shelter.

    I've been anti-ppl for a long time. I dont like ppl and I've found the woods and animals are all that I need for true happiness.. I dont get lonely and I avoid cities at all costs I do step into town for supplies now and again and its nice to say hello to a couple ppl I know. That's it off to my 12 x24 cabin again.. I love nature and my animal buddies spend alot of time just watching them...

    I love fatigues in the woods, but I also live near a military base and get most of my wood clothes from goodwill and its hard to beat BDU pants for 3 bucks. Show me a better cargo pant for that money. But not everyone has that where they live.

    How are you going to survive in a tent when its -19F for several nights in a row during periods of extreme cold during the winter? You would have to have an extreme cold weather sleeping bag/ tent and know how to heat your tent throughout the night.

    • @HistoryOnTheLoose
      @HistoryOnTheLoose ปีที่แล้ว

      Valid questions if taken on their own merits. The true answer is "you don't". Such conditions aren't for the vast majority of tents, therefore failure is the self-fulfilling prophecy of your questions. When one is comfortable existing in Nature, and possesses many of the self-disciplinary skills cited in this video, the skills and resiliency necessary to create more appropriate shelters become second nature. To understand this, one must put themselves outside of the limitations that modern society has forced us to accept as necessary. Motivated humans are capable of surviving incredible depravity. Stop thinking inside the box of what you "can't do", and begin to accept the challenge. The conditions you cited have existed far longer than Man has and he has adapted to them for thousands of years. It hasn't been but for the last hundred or so that folks like yourself have been brainwashed into relying on what is commercially available to survive ancient conditions.

    Good stuff, first off, I just have to say thank you for your service. Like what you're doin on this but only one small thing I dont agree with. I'm sorry brotha but youre makin it alot harder on yourself if you think you wanna get in a gun fight with an 1851 navy against guys with ar's in shtf. Just the fact it bein a handgun let alone bein black powder just isnt smart. I love the idea of it dont get me wrong, very poetic or admirable if you will but I have 3, 51 navy's and an 1860 army.... theres no way in hell I want to try to get in close to fight guys with rifles let alone an ar15. I grew up hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening out in the woods. I spent a shit ton of time in the woods and I know I'd be ok if shit went south. But I'm sorry if it gets to the point I have to leave home and survive in the hills away from home I'm not takin black powder guns. Alot harder to keep up. Just keepin powder dry can be a task at times here where I live. I dont know, sorry for the rant, keep doin what you do man and god bless from ole Carolina.

      As you may know, greenhorns won’t last long in any environment other than the one they have been in. Unless your living up here, practicing and preparing everyday, this information will do no good to a greenhorn armchair TH-cam captain.

      Homeless people live off the scraps of urban society and a 700$ per month SS check. That won't help surviving in the wilderness which is the forte of a mountain man.

    . . ."I can see you" . . .! Load of ham shank BS ! What type of person will believe this man can sustain his chosen way of life when SHTF , and MILLIONS decend onto his piece of real estate, he his promoting a totally false premise, of false hope to the gullible !

    • @projectoldman3383
      @projectoldman3383 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Those millions you speak of, well, 99% would be dead within 2 months of trying to live off the land.. That's basically the point of this video, why a person with mountain man skills would have a higher chance of surviving in the wilderness than a million other yahoos. Seems like a reasonable premise to me.
