Enjoyed your video. Top work but why did you crank for so long with the injectors connected? The excess fuel weakens the oil. I usually pull the fuel relay when priming, what food you do to avoid starting up?
I normally unplug the crank sensor as it controls spark & fuel. Unplugged fuel relay will still fire injectors if rail has been pressurised. in this case i only unplugged coil pack but the tiny amount of fuel on the pistons will not contaminate the oil.
Do you happen to know how much the SVT engines can handle? I know it's basically a Duratec and the weak point is the hypereutectic pistons. I just haven't found a lot of information since we never got the RS version over here.

You should've gotten the aluminum thermostat housing or the upgraded plastic one thst has screw in sensors instead of push in as its known to leak either from the sensors or the plastic is too thin on the oring and cracks. Also if the exhaust manifold gave you so much trouble why not swap it with the factory one as the flange that bolts to the turbo is the same
Nice enjoying watching these mate, just a heads up, I've seen people have problems with excess oil in the cylinders causing lots of smoke from using an aftermarket breather with the factory oil separator, keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻
I subscribe to very few channels being honest, but have found your knowledge and enthusiasm really enjoyable to watch, especially being a Ford fan myself owning various RS's over the years. Just a thought, you might want to get the rocker cover heat shield back on that sooner rather than later, you can get replica stainless ones on eBay for £20 or Airtec and theres also a slam panel shield you can get to save melting the wiring/fan wires under the panel. What power is the car out of interest and how is it fluttering that much, its just how I want mine to sound. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼
Yeah i agree it definitely needs some heat management! Heat shields are a good choice. It has a turbosmart recirc valve and gt2871rs turbo. Bluefin map no idea on power
Mate it won’t be a faulty maf, battery has been off they take about 10-20 miles to relearn the air fuel ratios and it will be mint. Never changed a maf on one. If you need any help mate just give me a message on instagram. Used to own one that i rebuilt to 400bhp. And that manifold is a massive pain in the arse. Worst job on them. Instagram cjggolfa

Thanks. The maf was replaced with a pattern part and then the previous owner run an air box without a air filter which destroyed the element.
