Thank you for posting. I grew up watching all these bowlers. This is bowling at its finest. Amleto still looks good after all these years. And good to see Michael Haugen still bowling g. He has not aged.
Amleto, Mike Haugen, and Brian Voss. Three guys who are over 50 but bowl just like they did when they were 30, and other than a little gray hair here and there, all three of them could pass for mid to late 30's.
These senior stepladders are surprisingly good. These guys are all freaking legends and they throw great games with plenty of drama. It’s pretty cool how intimate the setting is. If you go to one of these matches you are just right there next to some bowling all timers doing their things. Thanks for the post.
You still got it Walter; the same technique you had 30 years ago. I expect to see you on upcoming Fox telecasts. Iodine my friend. Also, please throw the Black Diamond when you've won! That thing can still strike and I'd be happy with one as my main ball; perhaps more so than my Quantum Bias.
I bowl on a 26ml 41' pattern all the time, and that extra 4ml and 3' is a LOT! it also makes me wonder how flat the pattern is, or how much buff area there is on the outside midlane.
been to spanish springs a bunch if you have ever bowled in spanish their house shot is like alot of sport patterns just saying lol i left a bunch of splits
After seeing some of these crazy pin drops... the conspiracist in me thinks theres an employee sitting above the rack with an air gun pointed at the pins when drama is needed ^_^ But i love how Bowling has such a simple concept yet requires a vast knowledge of how lanes and conditions change...I can bowl multiple 200's a night, the very next week barely hit 170's. Every Friday i go in wondering what the lane conditions are going to be like. But it doesnt matter because I enjoy it regardless, and my pitcher of Blue Moon and fresh orange slices are always in good supply ^_^
okay that is really freaky.... I made my comment above before the end of the 3rd game. The VERY next frame, Haugen drops the 10 and even the commentator says 'whos got the air gun'... that is hilarious :D
Dude..... his wife is unbearable to listen to. I get it, you love yo man. But lady, listen, no one wants to hear you screaming every frame..... good lord.
I somehow have this perverse vision of her standing over Walter Ray as he tries to squeeze off a loaf. He's efforting it..efforting it...She watches and goes "C'Mon!! C'Mon..YES!!! OMFG YES!!!" while the bathroom mirror shatters.
Not true that someone like Duke will jump all over you if you make a mistake. If that were true, Duke would have never lost a march where his opponent made a mistake. Not bowing 300 means you made a mistake.
Not bowling a 300 means you made a mistake is not true at ALL lol robots cant shoot 300 every time and your up against a variable you cannot see. The oil so not shooting 300 does not mean you made a mistake I have no idea where you got that from
@@tylerstine784 The rules of the game and logic. 300 is the standard set for, defining whether perfection is achieved or not. When both bowlers shoot under 300, both are making mistakes and both have a chance to win. Every 1 v 1 bowling match where neither bowls 300, both have made mistakes.
@@docamerica6666 and your an idiot if you believe that. A machine can cut metal to .003 thousands of an inch yet it cant throw 12 strikes in a row. That doesn't mean it's not perfect. It means there are to many variables in play to be perfect. First if you've ever worked on a pinsetter you would know I've worked on tons. They dont set the pins exactly the same every time the table sets them second lane oil could push due to urethane or be sucked off the lane by reactive bowling balls. There is no such thing as perfect In the game of bowling you can throw 12 shit light balls and have a 300 that doesn't mean you were perfect by any means. Bowling good and scoring good are 2 completely different things my friend. "Standard 300 game" is shit thinking. 2 people could both throw 300s and one still has to lose. That line that Norm Duke plays is very weak. It looks like a LPBT shot. He's showing his age. Haugen is an ageless wonder. He looks like a 50's hotrodder.
And...who are you...I really want to know. You're a tour pro? You've won how many titles? The ghost of Earl Anthony? You believe it's an insult to say he bowls like a female pro? AH.
The line Norm plays IS weak. And yet he recently won TWICE in the regular PBA tour, beating powerhouse bowlers like EJ Tackett, Anthony Simonson, etc. Meanwhile, Amletto, Walter Ray, Pete Weber, and Ron Mohr, who all play more powerful lines than Norm does, cannot even make a TV final on the regular tour. Their balls are strong, but the young pros throw it MUCH stronger. Norm goes the other direction. He can't compete at all in terms of power and rev rate, so he relies on accuracy, precision and an understanding of the changing oil patterns. Since he is the only PBA50 member who has won on the regular tour, his way is clearly better. Of course Norm is showing his age. He's old. And yes, Haugen is a wonderful bowler and he looks and bowls great. But tell me again the last time that Haugen won a title on the regular PBA tour.
Haugen is a bit of a show off if your gonna be a show off your not gonna win Walter ray still has it and I like his wife he wins cos she shouts 💪🎳🎳🎳 well done Walter ray
Sure. Walter Ray wins because his wife shouts. That makes sense. the fact that he's the all time best bowler in terms of skill and accomplishment isn't the reason. it's his wife's constant screeching. Your mom shouts too, and look what happened. She got you.
Geez this commentary is awful. All they talk about is carry-down. Carry-down is not an issue after just a few games. Pin carry is just rough sometimes. If you crush it and wrap a 10-pin the answer is NOT to move. I don't think even these guys are micro-moving after every corner pin leave. On hard conditions, taps happen. Rough resin covers are designed to ignore the tiny amount of oil on the back end. Trying to explain bad pin carry as an oil carry-down issue is nonsense.
Jason Platt very misinformed sir. Wrapping a 10 is always based off angle of entry. These guys do micro move whether it’s with their hands, speed, feet/target, etc. they’re really good for a reason. Great matches between great bowlers!
I don’t have a slide sole either… I used to bowl in regular shoes till I was made to use bowling shoes … so I adjusted lol

Michael Haugen bowls a 245 and loses to the G.O.A.T. No shame in that. Awesome bowling by everyone.
