      God is close to the brokenhearted
      have you ever seen a parade?
      when you are watching the parade go by you do not see the whole thing all at once
      you just see each band walk by you
      but God is like a helicopter pilot he looks down he can see the whole parade all at once...the beginning of the parade and the end of the parade at the same time
      that's the way he sees Our Lives he sees the day we were born and the day we will die and anything we have done wrong that would keep us out of Heaven God took it all and put it on Jesus
      Jesus has already paid it all the second that you believe this you can know that you are going to heaven please share this

      Okay, "Doctor". Name One! Mr. Orbison's key changes and octave changes are totally effortless. In my short 68 years, I personally have NEVER heard anyone with his range. Whether an original song, a collaboration, or a cover version, I cannot recall a bad recording or any song he did not make his own.

      I think TiVo was trying to bait someone. Unfortunately, the "Doctor" -- you know that techno-freak-- bit. I said "no one". Actually Jay Black came close with "Cara Mia", but could not hit the high notes with out hurting himself. Therefore, "NO ONE" is still valid.

    • @jimbear1706
      @jimbear1706 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The Elvis vs Roy argument is interesting. It comes down to what a person likes. And singing is more that just vocal range. Otherwise Sam Smith would be at the top and I can barely stand to hear his voice. To me, nobody surpasses Elvis. He had the most beautiful voice I ever heard in rock and roll and he was the most versatile. He was a rock, country, and gospel star. Nobody including the Beatles had a greater influence on those that came after him. Don't get me wrong, I love Roy Orberson. But Elvis is the King.

    • @lawrencesumblin3325
      @lawrencesumblin3325 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Elvis was envious of only one other singer and that was Roy. To me Roy was truly the king of rock pop during his incredible career and I had the pleasure of meeting him and spending some time with him.A true gentleman and enormous talent. Notice the audience here as they recognize and applaude the song after just a few notes. Again the audience reacts after three opening words "Only the Lonely" pass from Roy's mouth. His voice was always clear and understandable, his words chosen for perfection. He was a true and very accomplished professional.

Or watch they've in Wacken 2012 show, where she was only with the band for a few weeks. The 2018 Decades live show in Brazil is more recent, her voice matured and she totally adopted all the songs before her and sings a few of the first album she was the singer on. The fantastic song writer of the band totally knows how to appreciate her voice and show her capabilities.

      sliat1981 - It's a little late for a reply, but I am also in my 70's and can answer your question. Roy sang almost all the same songs as these you can find on TH-cam now. He wrote or co-wrote many of them. In high school I lived 9 miles from Wink, Texas where he grew up after leaving his home town of Vernon as a small child. We enjoyed him as a local celebrity who had radio & tv appearances with his band The Wink Westerners, and cheered when he became a real star. We also wept when tragedy struck his family later, and at his untimely death at age 52. His music is timeless and surely will live for generations to come.

    On a December night in 1988, I was returning to Providence, Rhode Island from
    a hockey game at Boston College. I was riding shotgun in the front passenger
    seat, and the car radio was playing wall-to-wall Roy Orbison.I was enjoying it and then I realized that there was only one reason the radio station would be airing constant Roy Orbison. Roy Orbison had died that day. For the rest of the ride, I continued to listen and continued to enjoy the sound of Roy Orbison.
