  • If you feel lost and again in personhood, all you need is to ask yourself where does thought arises from? When you want to look, you will see that what you are.
Let us now, together with Papaji inquire and find out for ourselves.

In deep sleep we are not connected with any thing like thought etc . Then at that time/ moment why not we become free .

In deep sleep there are vaasanas(sources of thoughts, in seed form)you have to eradicate the seeds by the knowledge of Atma in waking state.

Good question. "In Hindu philosophy, turiya (Sanskrit: तुरीय, meaning "the fourth"), also referred to as chaturiya, chaturtha, is the true self (atman) beyond the three common states of consciousness (waking, dreaming, and dreamless deep sleep)." (Wikipedia) -- so our true nature is beyond deep sleep. In deep sleep, even though we are not aware of any thought, we are still not aware of our connection with all other beings and with Brahman (God) -- deep sleep is not pure bliss and awareness of complete Beingness. Papaji wrote in his book "The Truth Is," that the Atman (Soul or Self) is indwelling in the hearts of all beings (page 170), and so our true nature is connected with all beings. In the Upanishads, it says that the knower of Brahman attains the highest (existence, knowledge, infinity). We are free in this instant, and so we do not need to become free. We need to accept that this world is an illusion being projected from our belief in separation and so create a space to receive the freedom of our truth. That involves being willing to let go (or see past) the illusion that we are clinging to as our "reality." Hope this helps.
