Hay Bob, just finding your channel. I recently bought a 77 JD 2840 from the estate of the original owner. It is pristine condition. Hardest work it did in it's life was mow 80 acres with a 12 foot flail. However the most right of 4 red lights on dash continues to glow when others go off. This lamp is not in the owners manual. Can you please tell me what it goes to? Thank you, looking forward to making hay with it next summer.
If you google "John deere 2840 dash lights meaning" you'll get a link to a forum page on Yesterday's Tractors that goes over all the dash lights. There's a lot of info at that site if you can sift through it all and find it! My lights have never stayed on like you are describing so I haven't given a situation like yours very much thought.
