    Always nice to take the time to build things the way you need. The time spent to do it right , pays a person back many times over
    One thing to consider. Maybe some reflectors on the corners
    front and back I don't think it would hurt
    I'm building 2 new waging decks right now like the idea of the back rack with the horizontal boards behind the uprights ,I also use a accumulator and will be changing all my back racks

    Your wagons are very brilliant. You’ve save yourself a lot of time and getting closer to a totally one man operation. The Bergman hitch is slick also. Waiting on the rain to stop here in southern Indiana. All my fields are ready just waiting on the weather to break. I assume your dealing with the rain also.

    Very good wagon construction......We have learned with just one cutting using the Bale Baron......That the less the bundles are handled the better .We have decided for the time being to run the round balers in the field and use the Baron as a stationary unit.... That way the bundle is handled only one time after exiting the Baron.. Presents a neater package to the feed store a owner who is reselling the bales.... Plus the round bales are easier to transport

    Woo! First comment! That barn turned out nice! Going to be nice for clean ups and dust control. That 1025r will be perfect for that. I wonder if you could make a "non rotary" broom attachment for it. Like a big push broom for pushing. Anyways keep them coming!

    Hello Dennis nice work they look great. To me that style is not stable though I would not want one. But I understand that your grandfathers and if my grandfather owned one and I could have I'd be right there to own one. The tie rod better for me. I have bad memories of car tire wagons maybe because it was me that was constantly changing them and we didnt have tire machine,good old manual labor lol. Mind you still dont have tire machine and still do by hand today. Have a great day.

    Marvelous idea. - I am needing to rebuild my Grandad's old Montgomery Ward wagon. I redecked in 1980. Looks like it will cost me about 4-6x what it cost then to build.

    Speed hitch amazing total understatement!
    18 minutes and 52 seconds of NO bulldusting practicality.
    I sincerely enjoyed. And appreciate brains. How many bales high is the on-pallet stacking to maintain unsecured stability in transit? 7-8?
    Many thanks! 8 Or 10,000 miles off. RSA.

    Your well set up now Dennis for getting your bails in, you've made a great job of them all , with your pallets and new hitches should be alot easier and faster for you.
    Over here in the UK we are alot different we have the tractor hitches that work well, and trailers nearly all just have rear axles some have even three axles with lights and trailer brakes .
    looking forward to more of your videos
    Do you watch any UK farming videos?

    Years ago I saw a young fella pulling a tie rod trailer with tobacco on it and he was going way to fast. That thing hit a bump and it started flailing side to side and tobacco went everywhere. I bet he wasn't allowed to pull the trailer anymore. I really like that hitch system.

  • @billthornton9417

    Dennis love the wagons, we will copy your ideas. I have a question on pallets. What size are you going to use, and are you going to ship to your large customers on pallets?

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are 8ft long and about 6ft 3in wide. I’m just using the pallets for my own use to unload faster not to ship on.

    How do you get your pallets. do you make them or do you find them somewhere. they look wider then the ones i get around here. also do you have a supply for a full years worth of hay? we use them to sit round bail hay on and ours are stored outside and sit on the ground alot and they only last 2 years or so. If i was you i would store them inside they will last a lot longer.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We made the pallets that are one on wagons. No I do not have enough of them for all the hay yet but that is a goal.

    Nice wagons Denis. I wonder if the synthetic wood for the fake decking wood that they use, I wonder how it would work on a hay wagon, you never have to stain it you never have to do anything to it and it doesn't dry out and get rotted. I think I'm going to ask one of my neighbors who has a few hate wagons I'm going to ask him if he wants to do an experiment and use that kind of synthetic wood on making a wagon

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t have a blueprint on them we just kinda wing it. I know the wheel base is 14’ 7” and the bed with the front extension is 20’ 8”.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  ปีที่แล้ว

      We used two 20 ft pieces of 6 inch channel for them frame rails. The chassis is the 5th wheel type and was made by Big Blue but I also have a couple Massey Ferguson ones that are fifth wheel also. We had to repair the chassis extensively because good ones are hard to find.

  • @73bigguy
    @73bigguy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    We always called those kingpin wagons and I wouldn't have changed the frame because (a) that's more work and expense (b) it doesn't make it that much higher (c) it was your granddad's wagon so leave it the way he made it.
