North Sikkim is one of those places to visit in Sikkim that is a literal definition of beauty While some of us prefer rugged terrains, a majority of us prefers lush green hills and then there are some that marvel at the mesmerizing flowers blooming in the wild. North Sikkim is an amalgamation of all these and more.

Gurudongmar Lake: The lake is placid and the surroundings are nothing less than overwhelming. It would not be an exaggeration to call it a paradise in the midst of nowhere.
Yumthang Valley: It's name brings one thing to mind, Flowers. ‘Yumthang’ means “Valley of flowers’ in the local language. It is not for nothing that this Valley is labeled like that. It is nothing short of being exotic. Whether you are a nature lover or not, you are bound to fall in love with the incredible blend of flora and fauna in this valley.
However, reaching these two, is not possible or permissible. This is because a majority of North Sikkim lies on sensitive border areas and there is a list of permits that need to be taken before and during the journey. ence, almost all trips to North Sikkim have halts so that the body is acclimatized to the changes as gradually as possible.
This is where places like Lachen and Lachung come into play. They serve as a means to an end. Lachen and Lachung are small villages where tourists are generally put up on their way up to

Yet another untravelled wish, well-captured. Last year we travelled to the north east side of Arunachal, Menchuka. It gives a similar vibe. We connected sometimes back but could not speak. Let me fill in the form again.

I went last year.. in April.. honestly speaking what ever shown in this video, the actual place is way more picturesque.. I and my husband literally cried the day we left lachung.. it's more like a fairytale.. bizzare and exotic place seemed something like another planet.. honestly speaking this place changes from month to month, in April both lachen and lachung were full of Greenery.. and the road trip from lachung to yumthang valley, it was surely a paradise made for humans. The whole valley was covered with crores of colorful Rododendron trees and flowers bursting from the branches.. each altitude had different coloured Rhododendron and got to watch so many exotic flowers and birds and insects i have never witnessed my entire life.. i heard this year due to climate change the valley didn't bloom so many colorful flowers and seemed more like this particular video, frozen. But believe me guys the true beauty of this yumthang valley was the colourful and exotic flowers. If possible next time I will stay there for atleast 1 week because last time I didn't want to leave the place.
Why Sikkim so underrated, it's real heaven on earth 🌎🌎
Actually bro I went to sikkim 1st april this year and to kashmir 22 may I have noticed that the real heaven is in sikkim some places in kasmir is look like heaven like doodh pathri and gulmarg. I didn't like it more than this two place but in sikkim I have enjoyed very much and enjoyed every places like lachung lachen gurudongmar Gangtok ❤❤❤

Visited North Sikkim this year in june. Its almost 1 month 4days. Watching the video feels like reliving those memories. What a trip it was!!! Every description that he gave about reaching 17800 ft height its exactly what we felt and then wondering how can a heavenly place like this present on earth. North sikkim is actually underrated compared to the other landscapes.
How much the whole trip cost you, I'm thinking to go next year
Hi, is june / july a good time to visit?I am a little concerned because of monsoons. Will the roads be open and views visible? Also can someone go via motorcycle instead of a cab?
This episode truly deserves a ❤..For me personally it brought back a lot of memories..I'd visited Sikkim in the mid 80s with my parents..we'd been to Yumthang too..we'd stayed over there..the "accommodation" was a run down forest lodge with no provision for food..n nothing else around!!..A little BRO worker invited us to his home for dinner which we gratefully accepted..nothing like a warm meal in the cold, freezing weather..I could go on, but will stop for now..

Beautiful . Been there two years back, just two days after snow fall. Our vehicle had to stop about 600 meters short of it . Could reach by taking a step up slowly . We visited Kala Panther also before Gurudongmar. That was amazing trip including Yamthung and Zero Point.

IF HEAVEN HAVE A FACE THEN IT IS NORTH SIKKIM. I went last year and omg are you kidding me??? the view of gurudongmar lake??? that's the best thing I have ever seen. Even if you are not mountain lover even if you are not nature lover you cant but get awe by seeing gurudongmar. The wind there is crazy like CRAZY. I have never experienced such winds in my life.
talking of Yumthang.. ahh I have literally experienced snowfall (nope snow was raining down on us) I can literally die for North Sikkim honestly.
ps- if you don't get a oxygen cylinder while going to gurudongmar (which cost around 750rs) you can do this (the thing which we did)
1. stay calm and awake (do not sleep DONOT) because a lady in our car slept while we were driving up and when she woke up she was having breathing issues because there was sudden decrease of oxygen level
2. no much body movements (like making reels)
3. keep on sniffing kapoor (we kept on sniffing it)
4. take diamox beforehand

I visited this lake in 2019. After reaching there it was like heaven on earth.❤ Yes it's difficult to stay there more than hour. The condition of the road in 2019 from lachen to the lake was not so good.But we forgot that after reaching there. Gurudwangmar Lake ❤️❤️
Gurudongmar lake is a must visit place in Sikkim. It feels like heaven. Visited a year back and was mesmerised by it’s beauty. Rhododendron Sanctuary is one of the most picturesque locations.

Gurudongmar lake pe kya foreigners allowed hai? And which is the best time to visit Sikkim.I am planning in late September this year.

@@mdhasantareq7873Foreigner matlab ? If you are from Bangladesh or Srilanka you can travel all over India with a visa and then you have to book a package in Gangtok which takes the permit to enter beyond Lachen. Maybe a shared trip. You need two photographs and some documents.
@@lifePaultheball I am from Bangladesh and as far I know some places in India is restricted for foreigners to visit no matter if it's a Bangladeshi or Sri Lankan.And Gurudongmar lake is one of those places.

Planning to visit next year
This video is awesome. I was thinking about visiting Valley of Flowers in July end. But this video has made me rethink on whether I should plan a trip to Sikkim instead of VOF.
Sikkim and specially North Sikkim is heaven on earth. The connectivity to Gurudongmarg is much improved now.
I went there in 2013-Nov. We were out of breathe and there were few ITBP guys running on frozen lake as if they dont have to breathe. Its mesmerizing.
Sadle its not that famous for people of North. Blame it on the distance or lack of knowhow of eastern part.
Nost of the tourists there were fron WB. Lucky guys..
Gurudongmar is heaven on earth. During Sikkim tour I felt the same way as you described.
