And I totally feel your pain on the lack of a capable American flashlight for under 350 bucks. I went with Fenix. Loved the brand ever since I was a kid and saw them in a US cavalry catalog way back in the day, and I just went with them for my EDC lights. Manker is also a good choice.
Batteries are one of the things you do have a say in re: 'Chinese or not' because the best battery cores are made in japan and korea. Same with TVs and smartphones. Japanese and Korean electronics have been top of the line for pushing a century now if you want to consider things like phonographs and lights, but at least since the 50s for most everything else.

I can type on my phone with just 2 thumbs really quick and efficiently! I’m actually faster typing on my phone than on a keyboard 😂
