Shishitoren were a bunch of lost boys. No direction, no goals, no role models. Along comes Choji, with his talent and charisma and goal, and they followed him. They idolized him. Then he fulfilled his goal, thinking it would be wonderful, but nothing changed except now he doesn't have a goal. He got depressed and angry. As Togame said, "the sun clouded over." Choji turned out to be just as lost as the rest. Togame hated what Choji had become, but still idolized him. He thought Choji was just going through a phase, and would come back eventually, so he took on the role of the bad guy so everyone else could still look up to Choji. Shishitoren and Bofurin have a lot in common, really, but Bofurin have Umemiya. To me, this arc is about how much difference a role model can make to young men. Sakura is gifted, but he's not as strong as Togame, who is older and more experienced. On the other hand, Sakura can't lose to bullies like Shishitoren, and Togame no longer feels he deserves to win. Togame is looking inside and seeing weakness. I keep thinking of the phrase "his stance is broken," because he has nothing to stand on any more.
The lost boys! I agree so much! It’s amazing how different but similar the two groups are! I also can relate to what Choji was and is going through! Working so hard for the goal you want and getting it is great but the feelings of happiness disappear quickly! You feel lost and useless! That’s when big change is needed. The journey is way more fun and longer lasting than actually achieving that goal! In my opinion. I am glad that Kame took on that burden for Choji and the others but you can definitely tell it’s taking a toll on his mental health! He definitely seems like a shell of a once great man,currently! I am excited to see how this whole series works with this current struggle and how they wrap it up into a nice bow for us! I really am loving this series because of how much I can relate! Gotta say this is the first one I kinda connected with! I’m glad you told me about it!
I think Umemiya is going to tool Choji with a good conversation 😂😂😂and hurt his ego. Which I’m hoping this will get the Shishitorens to take a good look at themselves and what they stand for! Choji might just step down after but that wouldn’t be that exciting! So I have also been played around with the idea that Choji might just come unglued and start a huge tuff war and all hell will break loose!😂😂 I think I am all over the place with these ideas! 😂😂But I trust you will telling me how ridiculous my thoughts on it are and maybe drop a knowledge bomb on my ass!😂😂😂
