George, I’ve been using Logic since version 1 (on an Atari Falcon). It’s funny how we learn things, then forget them, then figure out workarounds for the stuff we’ve forgotten. Thank you so much for reminding me of the way this stuff should be done!
Love this channel, man! Most videos on Logic Pro are just spoonfeeding stuff that's already in the manual, so it's really cool find someone who's been using Logic for decades showing an opinionated take on how to configure a default setup (and why!). That said, given that the Environment is basically deprecated (it's UI is bad and buggy), what are your thoughts on the first-class alternatives to what you've shown in your Autoload series: Templates, Summing Track Stacks, Folder Track Stacks, and Hidden Tracks (especially since Track Stacks gain even more UI real estate)? It seems these days the Environment could be avoided, but at what cost?
My aim to remind or have people discover the Environment was really to establish a better mixing workflow (with the T.A.B.S. Mixing Workflow) and secondarily to allow people to pre-setup future tracks in that Environment to pull into their session with the settings that they like instead of using the stock settings that using the Track menu. I think the Logic templates are useless and as far as Summing Track Stacks, Folder Track Stacks and Hidden Tracks, they all have a place - but 98% of the time, I don't use any of them - the 'Stacks' tend to slow me down. I have used them when things get too thick, but it is rare. Thanks so much for your input!! Lots more coming soon!
Thank You AGAIN for answering questions I didn’t know how to ask. Thank you for empowering us to learn at lightning speed so we can enjoy being creative!
Oh, hey, thanks! Your video gifts keep on giving. You already answered my question about the function of the Fx Rtn! It was all there in your Handy Dandy (and Highly Elegant) T.A.B.s Workflow Map: The FX Auxes rout to it, which rout to Stereo Out. Hallelujah! And yeah, I miss east coast food, too.
Best series on Logic templates I've seen!
Thanks!!
Again…huge help, really enjoying working through these tutorials, thanks very much George…cheer Karl from the original Jersey island
It is my pleasure!!
