@shamounian indeed. Taking “my name ‘Adonai’” at face value means the personal name of God is “my lord”. You wouldn’t expect that to make it past the Masoretes.
@@barbarazaidan8277 The Catholic Church doesn't like to use the sacred name of the Lord (follows the Jewish tradition) and usually uses Adonai or Lord instead. The New Jerusalem Bible departed from this and was pulled up on this and the Revised JB fixes this.

Not too long ago about 5 Jehovah's Witnesses came to my door to preach to me and I said you people don't believe that man has a Soul and that there is a Hell in the center of the Earth but if you don't repent the day that you die you will come out of your body and what a shock it will be when you see yourself then you will know that you was deceived but it will be too late ! In this text you can clearly see that after the bodies of these martyrs for Jesus have died their souls can still speak and still have their own memory! Of course the JW' sect will never explain this text to their members because it doesn't fit in their teachings..... By the way Ezekiel 18:4 is not a proof because soul in Hebrew can also mean person. They use 1 Pet. 3:18 where it says that Christ was "put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit" as an attempt to show that Jesus was not raised physically but as a kind of spirit creature. Their use of the scripture to support their position is incorrect because this verse does not say that He was raised a spirit creature. It says that He was "made alive in the spirit." What does that mean? Quite simply, it means that Jesus was raised in an imperishable body. This is what 1 Cor. 15:35-45 says when it refers to the body as being sown perishable, but raised imperishable; sown in dishonor and raised in glory; sown a natural body and raised a spiritual body, etc. Jesus was the "Last Adam" - a life-giving spirit. Paul is typifying the resurrection body. In this passage Paul is talking about the resurrection of all people. All Christians will be raised in physical bodies. It is said the same of Jesus. You teach that Christ is physically not risen? Then you denie the resurection of Jesus and is your faith in vain! This also means that your preaching has nothing to do with the good news of the resurrection of Jesus and the good news in Matthew 24:14. I'll suggest that the scholarship suggests that "Yahweh" is closer to how Abraham might have said it. I was born into this cult and disfellowshipped as a child for choosing to follow Jesus. Their teaching never felt right to me even from a very young age. The Holy Spirit would speak to me during all the activities I wasn't allowed to participate in with other children at school. I heard His voice and He would teach me profound things in such a simple way. Out of the mouths of babes, I would repeat these things to my mom and ask her questions she could not answer and she became hungry for the truth. It shook her foundation and she eventually became a Christian, but didn't tell anyone. I, on the other hand couldn't be silent about what the Holy Spirit was revealing to me and at the time, I didn't understand why my mom was more quiet about her faith. When I got my hands on my first real Bible, it became my most prized posession and I would spend hours reading it and especially loved the red letters because it is Jesus speaking, and the book of Revelation. The Watchtower elders came to our home at times telling my parents to keep me in line, but I couldn't stop taking about Jesus. There was a girl in an older grade that was my 'handler' at school and she was reporting back on me to the Watchtower. They were angry with my parents because of my testimony of Jesus. One night, I was celebrating my birthday for the first time (while my father was unaware), and my grandma showed up out of the blue and saw the kids in party clothes and balloons. I had no idea what would ensue and I was more excited to show my Bible to her than my first birthday party. I told her I had the real truth and that the words in her 'bible' had been changed. I joyfully showed her where Jesus is speaking and some examples of how her bible was different. I was unaware of the repercussions. Well that was it, and she was furious! My father threw us (my mom, 2 sisters and I) out in the street in the winter shortly after. I was only around 8-9 years old and had no idea what it would cost to follow Him, but it was worth it. I lost everything and my entire family (not including my mom and sisters) that night, but I never had so much peace in my heart. Jesus is my full portion and it's always been Him alone I am in love with. Despite all of the hardships, and there have been many, I wouldn't trade my walk with Him for anything.

Yes the Holy Spirit is calling many from the Jehovah’s Witness cult. He opened my eyes to false doctrine, but the true miracle I witnessed was my daughter, who claimed to not believe at all!! She was (virtually overnight) filled with HS and has become a dedicated disciple of Christ. Praise God. Sam is a wonderful teacher. Thanks for all you do.

I was associated with and then was a baptised JW for years. I eventually broke away from them 19 years ago. I was saved as a born again Christian about 5 years ago. Im STILL struggling to shake off their false teachings. They caused me that much mental pain that even to this day I question God as to why he allowed me to be in this cult for so long preaching a fake gospel (I was a zealous preacher) if he knew I was going to be saved for real in the future? I still struggle with this now. I have suffered severe anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts for years because I was trying to obtain salvation through works and failed miserably. God has now truly saved me through his Son Jesus and is now straightening my warped mind day by day. Praise and Glory be to God my father and praise and glory be to my king and saviour Jesus Christ. As you suffer for being a child of God persevere in prayer and meditate in the word daily and the father will strengthen you.

Sam is exposing himself as a false teacher by addressing sincere people with derogatory words. That is not the way to represent Jesus. I believe Sam will end up with people who are described in Matthew 7:29.

Look at the word added [Other] Colossians 1:16 if you ask them they understand the word Other was added to make sense. That Jesus was created one time. If you take the word away from the text it make him God. The bracket [. ] was added by them to distord the context of the bible. The new translation they have doesn’t have a bracket any more in order to blend with the text. They took the bracket away for you not to stop or notice the added word “Other” cleaver isn’t it
Warning! I recently came across a new translation of the Bible called the Updated American Standard Version (UASV), a product of the Christian Publishing House, the Chief Translator of which is Edward Andrews. In reading about this new translation which claims to be following the "historical conservative Christian faith", I found that Mr Andrews used BCE and CE when writing about historical events, rather than the Christian notation BC and AD. I emailed him to ask why. He replied, "B.C.E. means “before the Common Era,” which is more accurate, than B.C. (“before Christ”)." I responded by saying that I laughed when I read that it was 'more accurate' as BCE is exactly the same as BC and CE is exactly the same as AD, but without any reference to Christ our Saviour. He took umbrage and accused me of having "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder over a mundane issue". He continued sarcastically: "I am sure Jesus is in heaven distraught over letters representing a timeline. He is so concerned with his getting press for the time period of CE or AD that he will condemn me to hell (place of torture), a place that does not exist." In replying to him, I wrote, "I believe Jesus is Jehovah, the First and the Last", with many scripture verses such as "He is the eternal Son of the eternal Father, Isaiah 9:6 - how can God be an eternal Father unless there is also an eternal Son? Christ is also the invisible God - Jehovah - who has become visible, Colossians 1:15." He said I had a haughty spirit and he would block me if I replied. My conclusion: The UASV is a new Jehovah's Witness 'translation' under the false guise of being a conservative Christian version. Avoid the UASV, anything written by Edward Andrews, and the "Christian Publishing House". May God bless His People who are His people in Truth through faith in Christ!

If u believe Jesus is God why are u speaking n thanking the father for his son, this is why I don't believe in this trinity, that is the only difference between Jehovahs witnesses to the rest of the religions. A very good verse to prove Jesus is God to a Jehovah witness is Isaiah 40:3 and Matthew 3:3 because in the old testament Isaiah speaks the prophecy about Jehovah and in the new testament its applied to Jesus by Matthew. KJV The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. NWT A voice of one calling out in the wilderness: “Clear up* the way of Jehovah! Make a straight highway through the desert for our God. and Matthew 3:3 KJV For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. NWT This, in fact, is the one spoken of through Isaiah the prophet in these words: “A voice of one calling out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of Jehovah!* Make his roads straight.’” *They may still say it applies to Jehovah which doesn't makes sense if it is about the Father because its clearly spoken regarding Jesus in Matthew. But by the grace of God the Holy Spirit can open their eyes.
Regarding John 10:33, what's interesting is that if the Jews truly believed Jesus was saying He was a god, rather than God Almighty, they would have left Him alone. Nice to learn more the truth about God. But here are some of my questions and pieces of thoughts, Sam Shamoun; 1. Will the Almighty and Awesome God judge people according to their intelligence? 2. Many of you theology "Geniuses" always refer to the JWs "cult" - will that not tantamount to calling them idiots or stupid? If even Lawyers, Drs and other high educated people have different understanding about the Bible, how much more of us who cannot understand well the passages of the Bible and have to rely on the teachings of our priests or pastors? 3. Do we need to perfect in the way we have to interpret the Bible in order to be saved? I learned to hate the church and disdain the priests and pastors for not being like Ravi Zacharias in explaining passages of the bible, and learn to rely on my own understanding which became my belief; Jesus made his teachings very easy for people to understand - and focused about Believing in God, his father, and believing in him the son. To love one another as followers of Christ because it is how we will be determined as his disciples. Tell this even to those who did not step their foot in school to learn to read and they will understand. Then try to explain to them the Trinity and other doctrines man made because he believe he is Genius... Yah, nice to have some differences in order to have reasons to dig deeper in the teachings of the Bible, but, we shall do it in a way we don't insult our brothers and sisters who are just following the teachings of their so called "Genius" leaders by calling them CULT. Since I was a child, I saw the Jehovah's Witnesses go to the deepest part of the mountains to reach the almost "Uncivilized" people just to preach the good news about Jesus Christ. I have not seen the Roman Catholics, Anglicans, and the others do what they are doing. In fact, the JW are like pariah because of their belief. Their theology is different, yes, but who are we to say they are stupid? They preach about LOVE that Jesus teach us to teach others, too. They preach about believing in Jehovah the father of Jesus Christ. Is it because they are confused about the other passages of the bible - saying Jesus is not the same as the father that God will judge them to hell? I believe God still uses the JW for His purpose and He will be the One to judge everyone when the time comes. But they reject the core doctrines of Christianity. The number one sign of false Christianity is denying the deity of Jesus and the trinity. Yes, the JW's are commendable for being active in their ministries but what good is it in the end if what they are spreading is a false gospel? Sam has his own faults, yes, and he's not denying them. What he wants is to correct the false beliefs of others. So, no, he's not causing division, rather he's actually helping in unifying Christians of different backgrounds by digging deeper into the Scriptures. I used to be limited by my Protestant upbringing but Sam helped me understand a lot of other important teachings that I did not get in my church. Sam is not perfect but is a wonderful teacher. He may be harsh but at least he's speaking in truth. Lies, even when spoken in kindness will still lead you to destruction. How else can we stop the spreading the false teachings of the JW's if not by showing them the errors in their doctrines?

There are times when we simply need tough love to correct people. Gentleness doesn't always work. Even Jesus can be harsh sometimes. Remember how he called the Pharisees a brood of vipers in Matthew 23? Sam's style speaking might not for everyone but if he helps just one JW come out of that cult, then Sam's efforts are not in vain. And yes, if a group is a cult, then call them a cult. When he is dealing with his former brothers, yes, "Harshness" may be used because it is the way they know - The harsh way. But with the JW, I know them because we meet them almost everyday. But anyway, you're right that how we do our best to live our life that glorify God will be pleasing to Him even without teachers. But there's a difference between the big and small issues. And Sam has mentioned it before. There are core doctrines that are non-negotiable meaning you have to get them right, otherwise you are not truly a Christian. Then there are smaller issues that do not affect our salvation. That's the problem with JWs. Their doctrine is very wrong. I live in the Philippines where there is another cult called the Iglesia ni Cristo. They are very disciplined, very committed to their faith, their chapels are amazing, they are kind and always helping people in need. But what they teach is you have to be a part of their group to be saved and that Jesus was just a man, not God. I do believe that God won't let those who truly search Him stay in false Christianity. Some atheist s say Jesus couldn't have been killed on a cross because the palms and feet wouldn't hold his weight. Archaeologists have found evidence of the way Jesus was killed and horrifyingly the nails generally were nailed through the ankles and the wrists. The Greek words " stauros" meaning a stake or xylon meaning wood , do not denote a cross. The reason it is important is that those wearing a cross are actually wearing the murder weapon. As a child I knew Jesus, The Father, and Holy Spirit are one. As an adult I had a hard time until I read The Holy Bible and asked The Holy Spirit to guide me to ahow me truth. The reason we use the word version instead of translation, is because of how flawed we are. Translation means, this is without any doubt, the perfect word for word finished product. Version means, that this is as good as we flawed humans can get it.

So what does Rev 1:1 state? Jesus was given the ability to give John the revelation by whom? If Jesus is God, why even have Jesus? YHWH even says he shares no glory with anyone! Stephen states he saw Jesus at YHwHs right hand. Acts 5:31? John 17:24? Acts 2:34? Rev 7:17? Where is Jesus at that moment? John 14:28? If Jesus is God, why would he say YHWH is greater? John 6:69? So those left may understand and know why so many have suddenly disappeared. The true reason will be hidden behind lies and deceptions I can't even imagine but this should help leave no doubt as to what actually occurred. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has come for His Bride, (all true Christians), just as promised in Scripture, so that where He is we may be also. This should help when you are attacked for a Pre-Trib view or if you are confused about it. The Great Tribulation is the Holy Wrath of God being poured out on the deserving. Show me from Scripture where God has allowed His Wrath, to be poured out on those He's found righteous, other than our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus as a propitiation for all? Many tribulations of today and the past that Jesus and Scripture warned us of are perpetrated by the sinful, men/women, not the LORD. The Great Tribulation will be God's Holy Wrath poured out on the deserving and none else. P - Placement of His Church (Revelation) R - Removal of the Restrainer E - Exempt from God's Wrath (as promised in Scripture) T - Twenty Four Elders (with crowns priests/kings) R - Rapture confused with Second Coming I - Imminent return of Christ B - Blessed Hope Augustine of Hippo, (354-430), was one of the church fathers as they're known. He is revered as a great teacher but flawed by the circumstances of his day. He taught during the time of monarchies and rather than offend them he did not teach as those that came before him such as Clement, Ignatius, Irenaeus, Ephraim, Polycarp and many others. He's the first we see in history who downplayed and didn't truly teach the "Doctrine of Imminency" according to Scripture. I'd imagine those in the monarchy would not have liked to be told how the real and true King, our Lord and Savior, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings could return at any moment. As a result for all the sound doctrine and his magnificent work against heresies Augustine has left behind in his writings, his lack of teaching on the "Doctrine of Imminency" has left a lasting impression on our faith. There is also another huge issue in that Augustine was a "supersessionist" as in he taught in his work the "City of God" that the Church had replaced Israel as the LORD's Chosen. This of course is not true the Church has been grafted into the "root" of promise and has in no way replaced Israel as the apple of God's eye and His chosen people. The Apostle Paul has amazing teaching on this in the Book of Romans chapters 9-11. I often hear those that confuse the Trumpet of God with the Trumpets in the Book of Revelation. They apparently have no understanding of how the LORD used the Trumpet of God in the Old Testament to signal His People to come/gather to Him for Instruction, Worship or to follow Him. What if it were today? the Didache dated about 100-120 A.D., which contains the exhortation: "Watch for your life's sake. Let not your lamps be quenched, nor your loins unloosed; but be ye ready, for ye know not the hour in which our Lord cometh The Lord's Return believed by the Apostolic Fathers: They expected the return of the Lord in their day. They believed the time was imminent because their Lord had taught them to live in a watchful attitude." And concerning the Ante-Nicene Fathers most of them: By tradition they knew the faith of the Apostles. They taught the doctrine of the imminent return of the Lord. So get out there my brothers and sisters and proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Yeshua Ha Mashiach) for time is short and the day is near. Marana tha !!! Come Lord Jesus, come, Amen... If you are reading this after the Rapture find a Bible and read as it truly is your only hope. Start in the Gospel of John and then read Acts and the teaching Epistles. The Great Tribulation will come upon on all flesh. The son of perdition has to be revealed first. The mark of the beast will be enforced on all mankind. Christians will not be exempt from persecution. If it were not so then why did John write: Revelation 7:13-14 KJV states, "And these are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb".

Biblical proof that the soul still lives when the body dies can be found in Rev 6:9,10
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
In this text you can clearly see that after the bodies of these martyrs for Jesus have died their souls can still speak and still have their own memory!
Of course the JW' sect will never explain this text to their members because it doesn't fit in their teachings.....
By the way Ezekiel 18:4 is not a proof because soul in Hebrew can also mean person.

They use 1 Pet. 3:18 where it says that Christ was "put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit" as an attempt to show that Jesus was not raised physically but as a kind of spirit creature.
Their use of the scripture to support their position is incorrect because this verse does not say that He was raised a spirit creature. It says that He was "made alive in the spirit." What does that mean? Quite simply, it means that Jesus was raised in an imperishable body. This is what 1 Cor. 15:35-45 says when it refers to the body as being sown perishable, but raised imperishable; sown in dishonor and raised in glory; sown a natural body and raised a spiritual body, etc. Jesus was the "Last Adam" - a life-giving spirit. Paul is typifying the resurrection body. In this passage Paul is talking about the resurrection of all people. All Christians will be raised in physical bodies. It is said the same of Jesus.
You teach that Christ is physically not risen? Then you denie the resurection of Jesus and is your faith in vain!
This also means that your preaching has nothing to do with the good news of the resurrection of Jesus and the good news in Matthew 24:14.
It also means that you are not saved because you don't believe in the physical resurection of Jesus and you are preaching the gospel of the AntiChrist learning people not to be saved!

But the wake up call was when I was older about 2 months ago where I saw one of Sam’s videos debating a Jehovah’s Witness and I clicked on it and I started watching more of his videos about jw. I brought it to my mom when she was also convinced. She brought it to the Kingdom Hall and they cut all contact with us along with my family which there were more reasons but this was one
I was born into this cult and disfellowshipped as a child for choosing to follow Jesus. Their teaching never felt right to me even from a very young age. The Holy Spirit would speak to me during all the activities I wasn't allowed to participate in with other children at school. I heard His voice and He would teach me profound things in such a simple way. Out of the mouths of babes, I would repeat these things to my mom and ask her questions she could not answer and she became hungry for the truth. It shook her foundation and she eventually became a Christian, but didn't tell anyone.
I, on the other hand couldn't be silent about what the Holy Spirit was revealing to me and at the time, I didn't understand why my mom was more quiet about her faith. When I got my hands on my first real Bible, it became my most prized posession and I would spend hours reading it and especially loved the red letters because it is Jesus speaking, and the book of Revelation. The Watchtower elders came to our home at times telling my parents to keep me in line, but I couldn't stop taking about Jesus. There was a girl in an older grade that was my 'handler' at school and she was reporting back on me to the Watchtower. They were angry with my parents because of my testimony of Jesus.
One night, I was celebrating my birthday for the first time (while my father was unaware), and my grandma showed up out of the blue and saw the kids in party clothes and balloons. I had no idea what would ensue and I was more excited to show my Bible to her than my first birthday party. I told her I had the real truth and that the words in her 'bible' had been changed. I joyfully showed her where Jesus is speaking and some examples of how her bible was different. I was unaware of the repercussions. Well that was it, and she was furious! My father threw us (my mom, 2 sisters and I) out in the street in the winter shortly after.
I was only around 8-9 years old and had no idea what it would cost to follow Him, but it was worth it. I lost everything and my entire family (not including my mom and sisters) that night, but I never had so much peace in my heart. Jesus is my full portion and it's always been Him alone I am in love with. Despite all of the hardships, and there have been many, I wouldn't trade my walk with Him for anything.

I was associated with and then was a baptised JW for years. I eventually broke away from them 19 years ago. I was saved as a born again Christian about 5 years ago. Im STILL struggling to shake off their false teachings. They caused me that much mental pain that even to this day I question God as to why he allowed me to be in this cult for so long preaching a fake gospel (I was a zealous preacher) if he knew I was going to be saved for real in the future? I still struggle with this now. I have suffered severe anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts for years because I was trying to obtain salvation through works and failed miserably. God has now truly saved me through his Son Jesus and is now straightening my warped mind day by day. Praise and Glory be to God my father and praise and glory be to my king and saviour Jesus Christ. As you suffer for being a child of God persevere in prayer and meditate in the word daily and the father will strengthen you.

I have been book marking the Bible references all video long to learn how to minister to JW that I know if given the chance.
Warning! I recently came across a new translation of the Bible called the Updated American Standard Version (UASV), a product of the Christian Publishing House, the Chief Translator of which is Edward Andrews.
In reading about this new translation which claims to be following the "historical conservative Christian faith", I found that Mr Andrews used BCE and CE when writing about historical events, rather than the Christian notation BC and AD.
I emailed him to ask why. He replied, "B.C.E. means “before the Common Era,” which is more accurate, than B.C. (“before Christ”)."
I responded by saying that I laughed when I read that it was 'more accurate' as BCE is exactly the same as BC and CE is exactly the same as AD, but without any reference to Christ our Saviour.
He took umbrage and accused me of having "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder over a mundane issue". He continued sarcastically: "I am sure Jesus is in heaven distraught over letters representing a timeline. He is so concerned with his getting press for the time period of CE or AD that he will condemn me to hell (place of torture), a place that does not exist."
In replying to him, I wrote, "I believe Jesus is Jehovah, the First and the Last", with many scripture verses such as "He is the eternal Son of the eternal Father, Isaiah 9:6 - how can God be an eternal Father unless there is also an eternal Son? Christ is also the invisible God - Jehovah - who has become visible, Colossians 1:15."
He said I had a haughty spirit and he would block me if I replied.
My conclusion: The UASV is a new Jehovah's Witness 'translation' under the false guise of being a conservative Christian version.
Avoid the UASV, anything written by Edward Andrews, and the "Christian Publishing House".

A very good verse to prove Jesus is God to a Jehovah witness is Isaiah 40:3 and Matthew 3:3 because in the old testament Isaiah speaks the prophecy about Jehovah and in the new testament its applied to Jesus by Matthew.

Nice to learn more the truth about God. But here are some of my questions and pieces of thoughts, Sam Shamoun; 1. Will the Almighty and Awesome God judge people according to their intelligence? 2. Many of you theology "Geniuses" always refer to the JWs "cult" - will that not tantamount to calling them idiots or stupid? If even Lawyers, Drs and other high educated people have different understanding about the Bible, how much more of us who cannot understand well the passages of the Bible and have to rely on the teachings of our priests or pastors? 3. Since I was a child, I saw the Jehovah's Witnesses go to the deepest part of the mountains to reach the almost "Uncivilized" people just to preach the good news about Jesus Christ. I have not seen the Roman Catholics, Anglicans, and the others do what they are doing. In fact, the JW are like pariah because of their belief.
Their theology is different, yes, but who are we to say they are stupid? They preach about LOVE that Jesus teach us to teach others, too. They preach about believing in Jehovah the father of Jesus Christ. Is it because they are confused about the other passages of the bible - saying Jesus is not the same as the father that God will judge them to hell? "If God can forgive the Apostle Paul of his heinous crime and brought him to the right path, will He not be able to forgive the "little" brain the JW have and maybe bring them also to the right path, just like what He is doing with our Muslim brothers? I believe God still uses the JW for His purpose and He will be the One to judge everyone when the time comes.
You are blessed people who can explain the Bible very well, take this as a challenge to bring those people whose theology is somewhat going the other direction - who knows, maybe that's the reason you're their talking! But they reject the core doctrines of Christianity. The number one sign of false Christianity is denying the deity of Jesus and the trinity.
Yes, the JW's are commendable for being active in their ministries but what good is it in the end if what they are spreading is a false gospel?
Sam has his own faults, yes, and he's not denying them. What he wants is to correct the false beliefs of others. So, no, he's not causing division, rather he's actually helping in unifying Christians of different backgrounds by digging deeper into the Scriptures. I used to be limited by my Protestant upbringing but Sam helped me understand a lot of other important teachings that I did not get in my church.
Sam is not perfect but is a wonderful teacher. He may be harsh but at least he's speaking in truth.

Everyone who listens to Sam's teachings in his channel know his character and shortcomings. He can be really harsh but that's because he is very passionate. There are times when we simply need tough love to correct people. Gentleness doesn't always work. Even Jesus can be harsh sometimes. Remember how he called the Pharisees a brood of vipers in Matthew 23?
Sam's style speaking might not for everyone but if he helps just one JW come out of that cult, then Sam's efforts are not in vain. And yes, if a group is a cult, then call them a cult. Being like Jesus doesn't mean you're always a lamb. Sometimes you have to be a lion too.

When he is dealing with his former brothers, yes, "Harshness" may be used because it is the way they know - The harsh way. But with the JW, I know them because we meet them almost everyday. They are stubborn like the others when it comes to their theology, but they are one of the most disciplined Christians I know.
I was once in Israel working as caregiver, in my ten years there, the Lord God showed me how my friends are praising Him.
Those who don't believe the doctrine of the Roman Catholics and do not belong to any other Christian Church organizations meet every weekends to have fellowship in the name of Christ.
And since they don't have a real pastor to preach to them, they do it on their own. They read passages and explain it the way they understand it. Sometimes I attended to listen to their sharing. I tell you, if Sam will hear their interpretations, I am sure he will call them one of the "dumbest cult" he has ever seen!
But, in my ten years of being with them, I saw they are far away from those other so called "believers" in Christ by the way they live their lives. While the followers of the biggest Christian denomination are living life like what Jame describe when he said "faith without works" is dead, (they are the perfect examples), those people praising Jesus without a priest or pastor to guide them are living their lives the way the Lord wants his followers must do. What do they have? Faith and LOVE. They don't know about doctrines if you ask them to explain it.

But anyway, you're right that how we do our best to live our life that glorify God will be pleasing to Him even without teachers. But there's a difference between the big and small issues. And Sam has mentioned it before. There are core doctrines that are non-negotiable meaning you have to get them right, otherwise you are not truly a Christian. Then there are smaller issues that do not affect our salvation. That's the problem with JWs. Their doctrine is very wrong.
I live in the Philippines where there is another cult called the Iglesia ni Cristo. They are very disciplined, very committed to their faith, their chapels are amazing, they are kind and always helping people in need. But what they teach is you have to be a part of their group to be saved and that Jesus was just a man, not God.
I do believe that God won't let those who truly search Him stay in false Christianity. That's why there are teachers like Sam used by God to correct false teachings. He's not for everyone but there are a lot of people who learned the truth through him. God uses imperfect people to teach.

The sound the letter J makes does not exist in the Hebrew language. They never would have pronounced it Jehovah. That's a later invention through translation. The King James Bible came about as a result of the power struggle that existed between the Palpacy and the English Throne of King James' time. And like every other version before and after it, it is full of changes and edits that are not true to the source material, insofar as we can refer to it as source material. Pretending that the KJ Bible is the end all of Christian doctrine where being true to Jesus' teachings is absolutely absurd, ignorant and audacious. There is no perfect source, God gave us the intellect and sense of skeptism to go on that search for ourselves.

Some atheist s say Jesus couldn't have been killed on a cross because the palms and feet wouldn't hold his weight.
Archaeologists have found evidence of the way Jesus was killed and horrifyingly the nails generally were nailed through the ankles and the wrists.

As a child I knew Jesus, The Father, and Holy Spirit are one. As an adult I had a hard time until I read The Holy Bible and asked The Holy Spirit to guide me to ahow me truth. The world can get confusing. The Holy Spirit is not confusing at all. He guides those who seek the truth. I am so glad that I have many brothers and sisters in Christ.

The reason we use the word version instead of translation, is because of how flawed we are. Translation means, this is without any doubt, the perfect word for word finished product. Version means, that this is as good as we flawed humans can get it.

So what does Rev 1:1 state? Jesus was given the ability to give John the revelation by whom? If Jesus is God, why even have Jesus? YHWH even says he shares no glory with anyone! Stephen states he saw Jesus at YHwHs right hand. Acts 5:31? John 17:24? Acts 2:34? Rev 7:17? Where is Jesus at that moment? John 14:28? If Jesus is God, why would he say YHWH is greater? John 6:69? Rev 1:6 shows Jesus has a God and Father. 1 John 2:1. John 16:28? John 1:18, who is Jesus standing by? Phil 2:6-9. Matt 16:17, Jesus is speaking about his father.
What about Rev 22-23. If God and Jesus are the same, why have a difference? Rev 20:4- 6 - The judges, along with Christ, meaning the judges are the same as God? Makes no sense. They rule for 1000 years and then what?

Show me from Scripture where God has allowed His Wrath, to be poured out on those He's found righteous, other than our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus as a propitiation for all?
Many tribulations of today and the past that Jesus and Scripture warned us of are perpetrated by the sinful, men/women, not the LORD.
The Great Tribulation will be God's Holy Wrath poured out on the deserving and none else.

E - Exempt from God's Wrath (as promised in Scripture)
T - Twenty Four Elders (with crowns priests/kings)
R - Rapture confused with Second Coming
I - Imminent return of Christ

Augustine of Hippo, (354-430), was one of the church fathers as they're known. He is revered as a great teacher but flawed by the circumstances of his day. He taught during the time of monarchies and rather than offend them he did not teach as those that came before him such as Clement, Ignatius, Irenaeus, Ephraim, Polycarp and many others. He's the first we see in history who downplayed and didn't truly teach the "Doctrine of Imminency" according to Scripture. I'd imagine those in the monarchy would not have liked to be told how the real and true King, our Lord and Savior, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings could return at any moment. As a result for all the sound doctrine and his magnificent work against heresies Augustine has left behind in his writings, his lack of teaching on the "Doctrine of Imminency" has left a lasting impression on our faith. There is also another huge issue in that Augustine was a "supersessionist" as in he taught in his work the "City of God" that the Church had replaced Israel as the LORD's Chosen. This of course is not true the Church has been grafted into the "root" of promise and has in no way replaced Israel as the apple of God's eye and His chosen people. The Apostle Paul has amazing teaching on this in the Book of Romans chapters 9-11.
I often hear those that confuse the Trumpet of God with the Trumpets in the Book of Revelation. They apparently have no understanding of how the LORD used the Trumpet of God in the Old Testament to signal His People to come/gather to Him for Instruction, Worship or to follow Him.
Please study these Scriptures:
Gen 5:24, John 14:1-3, Matt 25:13, 1 Cor 15:51-53, 1 Thes 4:13-18, Rom 8:19, 1 Cor 1:7-8, 1 Cor 16:22, Phil 3:20-21, Col 3:4, 1 Thes 1:10, 1 Thes 2:19, 1 Thes 5:4-9, 1 Thes 5:23, 2 Thes 2:1-3a, 1 Tim 6:14, 2 Tim 4:1, Titus 2:13, Heb 9:28, Heb 10:37, James 5:7-9, 1 Peter 1:7 (13), 1 John 2:28 - 3:2, Jude 21, Rev 3:10-13, Rev 4:1 (4), Rev 22:20.
Now tell me what you see in the Word of God. Tell me you don't see it, the (Harpazo/Rapturo/Rapio)? Watch as the early followers of the "Way" are told to encourage each other with the words of Jesus and the Apostles John, Peter and Paul. As their instruction is for us to be ever looking upward for our Lord's imminent return at any moment. Paul's proclaiming of, When the dead in Christ will be raised first and then we who remain will be changed in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, and be caught up together with them to meet our Lord in the clouds/air/heavens.
Notice it isn't on the ground that we will meet our Lord, but in the air?

The Lord's Return believed by the Apostolic Fathers:
They expected the return of the Lord in their day. They believed the time was imminent because their Lord had taught them to live in a watchful attitude."
And concerning the Ante-Nicene Fathers most of them:
By tradition they knew the faith of the Apostles. They taught the doctrine of the imminent return of the Lord.
So get out there my brothers and sisters and proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Yeshua Ha Mashiach) for time is short and the day is near.

If you are reading this after the Rapture find a Bible and read as it truly is your only hope. Start in the Gospel of John and then read Acts and the teaching Epistles. He is the only way and if you're brave enough to want to know the truth of what is to come read Revelation starting at Chapter 6 because that is all that is left to you of our Lord's as yet unfulfilled Prophetic Word. The first 4 chapters dealt with His Bride, His Church/Body made up of true believers, and we are now and forever will be with Him. It will not be an easy road and you will loose your earthly life that is but a vapor compared to eternity. Give your life to and for Jesus so you can be with us in paradise...
Romans 10:9 Say it, mean it, believe it and in Him.
He will save you even now no matter what you've done or not done unless you take the mark willingly. No matter what they threaten you with do not take the mark or worship the beast. Do not fear anything they can do to you in this life now but fear Him who can destroy both body and soul in Hell for eternity.

The Great Tribulation will come upon on all flesh. The son of perdition has to be revealed first. The mark of the beast will be enforced on all mankind. Christians will not be exempt from persecution. If it were not so then why did John write:
Revelation 7:13-14 KJV states, "And these are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb".
