    The LWotC devs felt an overwhelming sense of peace and fulfillment whenever they touched the bucket.
    "Make chosen stronger" the bucket whispered to them. "Yes. I must do what the bucket says" the devs thought to themselves

    List of things I learned from this video:
    1: missions have a threshold for detection
    2: recruiting rebels is only good when you want new rebels, but don’t want more vigilance in the region.
    3: The intel job doesn’t give intel directly to you
    4: supplies have a soft cap in each region
    5: you get a free resistance radio tower when you hack a network tower(makes a surprising amount of sense)
    6: Psionics, Scanning Protocol, and Battlescanners affect Faceless detection chances.
    7: there is no limit to the number of people in a haven, but only thirteen can be working at any one time.
    8:(in the comments) resistance personnel can level up and perform better when leveled up
    So, when are you going to post the next tutorials? I’d love to learn about infiltration mechanics and other fun stuff like that.

    • @DerAva
      @DerAva  5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      To clarify two things:
      3: You still get a small trickle of intel from the Intel job, but it's different from the intel used for mission detection (and I haven't actually found the numbers for that)
      6: Those three don't affect faceless detection, but rather reduce the chance of a new rebel being a faceless (instead of 1:6 you get a 0.6 multiplier on top of that for each) - btw, something I only learned myself a few weeks ago.
      Also, now that you mention faceless detection: another little thing I had in my notes and kind of forgot: detection chance is increased by soldier rank, psionic rank and officer rank.

      DerAva thank you for the clarification. I’ll still put battle scanners on any soldier I put on Advisor duty.

  • @Roman-dn6iw
    @Roman-dn6iw 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Thank you for this Tutorial. I had mistakes that I had in my previous Campaign:
    1. Switching jobs too often (right after getting 2 missions I switched to supply, not knowing about 24 hours delay)
    2. Having more than 3 jobs in dangerous areas. That resulted in retaliation missions that I couldn't complete without loses.
    I still have questions about LWOTC. What concerns me are permanent dark events. I get lots of them, and most of the time I don't get missions to prevent them. I prevented a permanent event only once out of 10, maybe. And why would I get them, anyway? I don't have permanent dark event option enabled in a second wave menu.

    • @DerAva
      @DerAva  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Permanent Dark Events are basically just there to give enemies some scaling into the late game so that they remain a challenge. If you can cancel one it's great, but just assume most of them will go through and the game is also balanced around the idea that the enemies will get those additional strengths and abilities as the game goes on.

    • @TheAether666
      @TheAether666 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As for not having the « permanent » option ticked, I’m pretty sure it makes temporary dark events like having the lost on more missions permanent.

    Supply rebel is the biggest underwhelming disappointing joke in whole LW2. You gain Intel instantly to use, but for supply you have to wait for weeks and then waste time to scan the crates only to find like 20 supplies at the end of the month lol Hell No. With early detection and boost you can earn 10x more supplies than that from the missions (hackings, grap missions, selling loot, rescuing more rebels) Not to mention you will have more healthy missions, soldiers , more scientists engineers, loot, tech, provinences , dark event and avatar project counters everything. Your suggestions to when and where to use them are on point thank you very much. I wish they gave 3x more money to make them viable early game and make the game more variable strategically.

    an sich ne gründliche zusammenfassund auch für anfänger (denke ich zumindest) was du am ende noch hättest erwähnen können: a: wie laufen rendezvous ab und b: wie laufen die verschiedenen retaliations ab. also n kurzer umriss. und natürlich wie die liberation-missionen aussehen. außer natürlich du hast vor das im nächsten video oder in nem speziellen video zu erklären

      I'm in a similar position except I didn't realize that vigilance affects your missions and what kind you can even get in the region, I thought it was just how much strength they wanted, lol. So I had 4-5 strength which is almost too much but manageable, but I have over 24 vigilance or so cuz I didn't think it mattered lol

      An invasion can happen if an adjacent region is at strength 8 or higher. So as long as you know the strength around your liberated regions you can see, where an invasion could potentially happen.

    Quick 2021 sticky note here: If you are playing the latest Long War of the Chosen Dev Build (25+) then note that there was a change for the recruitment job: you can now have up to 5 people on recruitment without triggering the recruitment retaliation . In addition, some details in regards to full retaliations have been made clearer since the creation of this video - please refer to this handy sheet: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xgqKQQX6My1I84QXQM94O4pl9D9Unts7-C-sgaMoNyM/edit#gid=0

    @georgelosev7078 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    What about "skilled" rebels? Thanks for the video!

    • @DerAva
      @DerAva  5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Great question, and just realized I forgot to mention it. Rebels can come in 3 levels. You can spot level 2 and 3 rebels in the overview by looking for rebels that have skill icons next to their name. They get 2 skills per promotion, so 2 skills=level 2, 4 skills= level 3.
      Higher rank rebels are 50% more productive per promotion level, so a level 2 rebel gets a 1.5x multiplier to whatever they do, a level 3 rebel a 2x multiplier.
      Finally, rebel promotion happen randomly over time, so they are not related to rebels being on missions and getting kills there. Every 21 days level 1 rebels have a 10% chance to get promoted to level 2. Every 42 days level 2 rebels have a 5% chance to get promoted to level3.

  • @Merknilash
    @Merknilash 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Simple question - I've heard people say "2 per region" regarding missions
    Should you be doing as many as you can, or limiting your missions?

    • @averagejoey2000
      @averagejoey2000 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is up to you as the commander in the strategic layer.
      if you want to go for the mission:
      what kind of rewards are you getting for it? is it worth the infiltration time that you have left, is it worth the fatigue you're guaranteed to get, is it worth the wounds and deaths you might get if you suck? is it worth the increased advent vigilance? if you try to do every mission every time, you'll run out of soldiers and advent will start stacking like 50 troops per mission in your region to try to get you to fuck off. plus, you still have to have soldiers not on missions or recovery so you can always have haven advisors and keep people in psi tubes and training tubes
      if you decide not to attempt a mission, what negative effect will come? if you pass up this Guerilla op, can you live with the dark event that comes? if you don't ambush the troop column, the advent strength in the region will go up, making your other missions harder.
      your decisions on when to take and when to abandon missions define your play style as the commander, and shape the challenges you'll actually experience on the run

    • @DerAva

  • @tyulik
    @tyulik 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    advent strenght I don't get it. Ok, you get reinforcements faster, but other than that? If you have extremely light missions, what.. you get 9 enemies instead of 7?

    • @tyulik
      @tyulik 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      or like.. you might get 2 officers, 2 sectoids, 2 gunners, 2 sentries 1 trooper instead of 1 sectoid 1 officer 1 drone and 4 troopers?

    • @DerAva
      @DerAva  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Higher Advent Strength will mean that the base amount of enemies on the mission is higher. Let's say you find exactly the same mission with a timer that allows you to infiltrate to 100%. In a Strength 2 Region that probably means it's now extremely light with 7-9 enemies, in a Strength 5 Region this might be a light (13-15) or even light-medium (16-18) mission.

    • @tyulik
      @tyulik 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DerAva so if I start infiltrating at advent strength 2 then it goes up to 3, I might get a Very Light at 100% instead of Extremely light (say I only left 3-4 hours window time).
      That's probably why I sometimes got must launch at Very Light when it showed Extremely Light in my timer.
