Hi Gregory, such kind words, thank you. Glad you feel more confident, remember that everyone has been in your position once. There is a wealth of experience on sites and park ups ready to help you, just ask. If you’re ever in a bind or just need some info you can always give us a shout, happy to help. Happy camping and thanks for watching 👀 Andrew, Jane and Buddy 🐶
What a cracking original vlog, it's something my wife and I have never thought of, but after watching what a good idea, I thought you made some good valid points like having a car to use as it's easier, but I think the best point made was the companionship, my wife and I say , come winter when you travel people are much less inclined to mix and chat as they are all wrapped up keeping warm and venture outside the Moho less, the other site looked good with the dog area and laundry, in the winter when my wife does a big wash she will at times take it to the launderette to dry it as it's quicker than using the tumble at home and she often comes home and says she's had right old chin wag lol, another enjoyable vlog keep them coming 👍
As always Stephen, thanks for watching 👀 and commenting. Jane has many a chinwag in the laundrette, feel sorry for the poor person just wanting to wash their smalls then getting their ears 👂 bashed! 😂😂 Anyhoo, yes, we think a short term long term pitch has worked for us and will look at it again in future. Cheers 🍻 A, J & 🐶
Didn’t know you could book a winter seasonal pitch for 3 months! We are doing a 3 yr ‘adventure before dementia’ tour of the UK and Europe in our twin axle caravan and winter seasonal pitch would be an option for the darker, colder months. Are you able to divulge where these pitches are? As always, entertaining and informative video. 👏👏👏
Hi Kris, thanks, as always, for your feedback 👍 The pitch we stayed on was Lower Greenhill, Caravan Park, Barnoldswick. The one we went to see for future, was, Holgates, Ribble Valley. Make sure you check them out before committing, don’t take out word for it 😂😂😂😂👍 Cheers 🍻 for watching 👀 A, J & 🐶
Very interesting info here, thank you. We live in the countryside so are lucky enough to have space to park our van, which is the same size as yours. We've only had it since November (after a two year wait!!) but I often sneak off for some "quality van time" in the garden to get away from it all. I really can kid myself I'm on holiday sometimes! Anyway, I was most interested to hear about the third choice of campsite that has a swimming pool. What's that one called please? Thanks 🙂
😂like it “quality van time”😂 gosh, two years, we were frustrated after nearly 12 months but worth the wait 🚐👌 The other site was Holgates - Silverdale, posh!! Happy camping, and thanks for watching 👀
Great video, will help us organise our trip. However, what about the following costs please, camper Ins for regions, Breakdown cover, travel health Ins. Did you take food and booze with you?
Hi Mike, our insurance covers us for all European regions for 2x90 days, and includes breakdown/recovery as part of it. Our travel health insurance is part of our bank account (Nationwide Bank) and we take some (basics) food with us as well as a bit of booze, but certainly not enough to last the trip! We tend not to include these figures as they are so varied for each person, depending on post code or van value or driving record etc, or health history. Many thanks for watching 👀 A, J & 🐶
Well spotted Mark…you can take the boy/girl out of Burnley….😂 Great position for family around Burnley & Pendle as well as Cumbria and Wigan. Cheers 🍻 for watching 👀 A, J & 🐶
I have a long one same as yours Andrew, but I managed to park it at home. But I think you have a great idea there parking up for the winter for £10/£6.86 a night. Bargain. Not sure what the costs are for storing a van, but you have the best of both worlds. Keep em coming. Take care. 🍦
@@Eurosullyjust had a thought Andrew when I so the wheelie bin man cleaning bins round here the other day. The way you clean your cassette I think you could make a few bob cleaning others while your pitched up for the winter. Could pay towards your site fees. Just a thought. Enjoy yeah tea. 😊
Were the West Yorkshire side and looking for something for winter due to my lad in school still were looking some place local as possible any ideas struggling to find a winter pitch that allow dogs or pets
@@zelda1277 sorry Zelda, not aware of anything West Yorkshire. We’re lucky as we are not tied to be so close to an area, makes it a little easier. Good luck searching 🤞 Continuez à plaisanter 😂
Hi Derek, no, the EHU is metered, so on top of the £10. We struggle to find (local) short term and flexible storage and also want to use it as much as possible. Also we are 40 mins from home and then able to rotate around our family. It’s complicated! 😂 Thanks for watching 👀 and engaging 👍 Andrew, Jane & Buddy 🐶
It’s a great idea Gary, and one we will give consideration to. However, we want to be within a comfortable radius of our various family units and, and it’s a big and….it involves work! 😂😂 we’ve taken early retirement and feel a bit queasy when anyone mentions the “W” word 🫤 Thanks for watching 👀 and for your idea 💡 A, J & 🐶

I’ve never thought of a seasonal pitch. It does look quite interesting for the winter. Thanks for sharing. 🤗

Interesting. Does your fees include EHU. Considering storage may be £40 per month or more a sensible option. Do you need though to heat your home ?
