After that Ganguly took over in 2000, picked great talents and build great time. He taught indian team to fight, his legacy continued by Dhoni and now india became super power in Cricket world.Feel great i witnessed this transformation of our team.. Perhaps Pakistan had the strongest team that time. The Opening than the strongest middle order is something Pakistan lacked for so long. Bowling was and still strongest edge of Pakistan. Thanks for the upload really miss those days.

Sachin approach was same but full team moral was dependent on sachins presence on the field.. This is the same bowling unit which get bashing from Indians after 2000, especially in 2003 world cup

Runs were hard to come by, Good enthusiasm, passion , Energy was all there, You actually felt like a rivalry match where two nations players really play for their countries, nowadays cricket is only Entertainment.. those days were the worst days of ind cricket, ind will mostly lose matches in foreign soil. the emotions you get watching those matches is dejection.

Indian cricket team was going through a bad patch. Maxfixing was rampant. Only after the culprits like Azar and Jadeja got cought and thrown out of the team and Ganguly took the command of the team, the Indian team changed totally. Young Players like Yuvi, Shehwag, Zahra, Kaif, Gautam Gambhir, Irfan Pathan, Dhoni got included in the team with experience of Sachin, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Srinath the team became a formidable force.
And now it has become a team which can beat Pakistan anytime anywhere in all the formats of the game.
The journey of Indian cricket team was full of ups and downs but indian team was more focused on becoming numer One. And they did it by Defeating Pakistan in T20 WC Finals in 2007, Winning WC 2011, Champions trophy, World number one Test team for almost one decade and until now.
I can proudly say that India can beat not just Pakistan but any other team anywhere anytime.
Proud of Indian team and their spirit.

after cricket world cup 1996 pak amd india played hell lot of cricket till 2000 and in these 4 years pak bettered their odi record by beatimg india 75 times out of 100. especially at sharjah there was no contest. sad that indian govt doesnt allow bcci to play bilateral cricket with them bcz now our team is better and we could have taken a lead in terms of odi winning percentage

That side had better batsmen(Anwar,Ijaz,Inzamam,Youhana) regularly got runs at most occasions.Better spinners (Saqlain and Mushtaq Ahmed)and better allrounders (Razzaq ,Afridi and Mahmood).Better keeper batsmen(Moin and Rashid Latif).Pace attack(Wasim,Waqar and Shoaib Akhtar).
No Indian side could ever match that side till these legends retired.
Post retirement of such legends,Pakistan Cricket hasn’t found such consistent players in every department to fill their voids.

The reason why pakistani cricket dominated over indian cricket from 1980s-early 2000s,specially in odis is that their change in the batting philosophy in 1970s which,their batsman's main changed from occupying the crease(which was at the time of fazal mahmood) to scoring runs.which produced batsmen like zaheer abbas,javed miandad,majid khan,salim malik,moh.yusuf,inzamam ul haq,saeed anwar,ijaz ahmed and shahid afridi.on the other hand Indian batting philosophy remained same even in the 90s it started changing during late the 90s.which produced batsman like sunil gavaskar,dilip vengsarkar,ravi shahtri,manjrekar,rahul dravid and early phase of sourav ganguly who were technically superior but lacked improvisation,hunger for quick runs,exceptions were moh.azharuddin,kapil dev,sandeep patil and sachin.
I think that those were the second golden days for pak after Imran khan and his boys.....

It was against the spirit of game. They both almost played 50% of the deliveries of the entire Indian innings with lack of intent to win. For Indian fans, their innings were terrible to watch.
