What was the rationale for going down to occasional specials? Was it just too expensive for Yorkshire to make? The Christmas 1988 special was the last one wasn't it?
@@jamesmt142 The Xmas 88 special was the last one although it still had 12 million viewers by then, Ted Rogers said “the Oxford folks got a hold of tv and thought it was too downhill for them” Unsure why they did it
@@misterdocukyeah Ive heard Ted say that. ITV was always skewed towards the working class though, and especially then. The Oxbridge set were watching the BBC!
