  • Repotting and root-pruning a terribly rootbound Pomelo.
    This tree was left out over Winter and completely defoliated. I didn't plan on keeping it, but figured this would make a good demonstration on how aggressively you can prune a tree at repotting time. If it survives, I will post follow up videos on its recovery. In the future, I may use this as a grafting tree.

    Thanks for the demo. If you can, I’d love a citrus tree pruning tutorial one day!

    I recommend air pruning pots because it will prevent root bound.

    Thank you for the video. When doing this do you have to worry about a tap root at all? How did she bounce back?

    • @Josh_Green44
      @Josh_Green44  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worry about a taproot as the plant had always been grown in a container, and has been rootpruned many times before. It is slowly bouncing back, new growth at.the base. I'll update soon.

    Where did you buy your pearlite?

    • @Josh_Green44
      @Josh_Green44  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! I buy Perlite at a local grow store.
      Many people who can't buy local, have had good luck with #3 Perlite on Amazon, Mother Earth brand.

    Explain why you did not use a larger pot?

    • @Josh_Green44
      @Josh_Green44  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no room for a larger pot during the Winter. I will cut this plant back further and pot the surviving piece even smaller.
