You have no idea how much I enjoy watching these guys on the Colgate Comedy Hour. These shows really are the best stuff we've got from Martin & Lewis, better than the movies. They loved making live audiences laugh!
Dean Martin has NEVER been so funny after the split. It was evident how much he enjoyed it, how much he found Jerry amusing, how much he could improvise. And this wasn't the only sketch where his being funny was evident. Both after parting became less fun. TOGETHER they worked so well. After the breakup Dean just read the cue cards and has never been more genuinely enjoying working.
'The insurance policy"-- wicked funny! Jerry's comedic timing is priceless! Love the way Dean and Jerry are constantly "breaking the 4th wall" in their performances.
Dean really shines in the Whipping Boy sketch. It truly shows how funny he is and that he's not just a "pretty face". I think he really enjoyed doing it as well.
