    Thank You for the Video. My vac was "Rode hard and Put away wet" as the cowboys used to say. I spent way to much time trying to figure out how to disassemble it to replace my brushes. That Nut was rusted and the hole for the Allen wrench was completely useless. After too long I finally got it but still cannot get the "Spacer" off. When I saw you just lift it off I was shocked. I guess I need a lot more PB spray

    Great video, thanks. What's a trustworthy site to buy shop vac motors? I have
    Rigid 16.5 Gallon shop vac, MODEL MOB16000 120V 12A 60Hz.

      Ebay's good wherever they have them or use just going google and just type in or say you know , ridge vacuum cleaner motors and a chicken won't pop it up , and then you can go from there to pick on which one got the best price

    Damn i wonder if that's what happened to my vacuum. I was using it and it started to sound a little weird and smelling like something was burning and then it just shut off. It was my dads so it's a older model but it worked fine. Should I try to fix or just buy a new one?

    Using a filter will greatly extend its life. Use a bag with a filter and you go further.

      The funny thing is, it's listed for different prices online here where I'm at in NJ. Then the motor is listed as $76. But a new one here, same model is $99. Then there's other sites that list it at more. That's because Ridgid, like most other companies, makes cheaper versions of the same tool.

      Get one from Home Depot and return the broken one. I believe it’s a house brands so they honor their lifetime warranty for all of ridgid even if it’s from Amazon it’s Home Depot’s

    When I started looking at prices for replacement motors they cost just as much as a whole new vac so why bother

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  ปีที่แล้ว

      You sure my vac valve was $200 new were a new motor cost a third of that price.

    the motor cost just as much as a new vac

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  ปีที่แล้ว

      You sure about that cause my type of shop vac cost 208.00 dollars and the motor to replace it was way less than that. In fact it was under 100.00 dollars.
