My gosh the stuff he was looking up is harrowing. If thats not enough to shake you i dont know what will. I am 26 years old, i work construction after years offshore crab fishing. Ive been homeless and imprisoned both before the age of 18. I could go on and on but my point is after all of this stuff, i feel like i might be halfway tough on a good day. Not the mean kind, just thick skin is what im getting at. Hearing about what this man was googling seriously scares me to my core. And calling the victims sister too oh my gosh. That is a terrifying human being. At least the brain part of him is scary. He preyed on helpless young women hes obviously not a tough guy. But that brain of his... Gives me physical goosebumps right now as im writing this. I generally don't like seeing people get the feath sentence but anyone who enjoys the feeling they get from hurting another person, i just dont think theres any helping them. They already know it's wrong and the like it. Included in that is people who call the victims sister and taunts them because they like how it makes them feel. Literal animals dont do things like that.
Thank you for covering this and streaming the press conference. It is so very interesting how they used the grand jury to carry things out. It never ceases to amaze me how successful people like this man can be into such sick stuff. I am glad for the families that they can hopefully begin to rest easier now. I hope they can find who killed the others.
With reference to Jung the persona of the suspect pleads 'not guilty', while the self stays silent, offering no explanation, and confined within the unconscious realm, his shadow apparently still rules, even if it's game over. Seems like the cops should have looked at the immediate surroundings of the actual crime scene a lot sooner. As mentioned in a previous documentary serial killers often seem to want easy access to their 'trophy area'.
I want to dissuade people of talking crap about the police work 'sooner' we don't know cop work is shoddy sometimes and sometimes often in fact, like in this case, it has to be thorough, and you can't really bring charges if you don't have confidence you have the right guy and can win in court. We don't know. You may even be correct it sounds like that's what happened with the jonbenet case as well, but we don't know we are not even observing the real work being done just summaries, pundit spin, etc. There's clearly more to this gilgo beach mass grave situation as they're avoiding talking about a lot of things, and just focusing on the 3 women he's being charged for presently. So I guess I would agree things could always be better, but the work done here seems thorough this guy is going to be found guilty. I worry that asking for 'sooner' or 'faster' results might encroach upon 'minority reporting' you know?
The last body was discovered at the end of 2010. But Heuerman has a property in South Carolina, on the water, and he took regular trips to Las Vegas. Obviously he would stop putting bodies in the spot where they had all been discovered. Police in Las Vegas are looking through their records. Search warrants have been issued in South Carolina. They were able to pinpoint Heuerman in under 4 weeks One of the victims was seen getting into a particular vehicle by a friend. Several days later she told that same friend she was seeing the same client. And then vanished. That friend gave the Suffolk police the description of that vehicle over 13 years ago. No work was ever taken to look for it. When a real investigation was opened, the officers followed that lead and almost right away, bingo, Heuerman.
There was tremendous commendable police work done bringing this culmination of arrest. I seriously oppose your speculative claim that no investigation included the vehicle description.
@@TH-camrepliesNot speculation. Not mine. This is what the CURRENT Suffolk law enforcement and the FBI have both said. And that is part - just part - of the reason why the three people who were in charge on Suffolk law enforcement and prosecution have been arrested, and charged. Well, the Suffolk Chief of Police,- the one who beat up the man who broke into his car and found the Chief's fun bag full of the torture porn - he was initially let go. But within a month he was re-arrested cruising for sex workers, AGAIN. It isn't altogether clear why they refused to investigate the murders. But given the police chief's "tastes" which are so exactly similar to Heuerman's, there has been -in this area - some true "speculation". None of flattering to the chief of police.
I don’t know if it’s significant, but I’m surprise he’s referring to the suspect as the defendant already. I haven’t heard other law-enforcement use that term at this point in an investigation.
Apparently furniture makers refer to using a hammer to persuade joints into position persuading them to join together so to speak. . Though he was definitely Freudian double entendrefying there.
Rex Heurmaan (sp?) creeps mtfo , he definitely did it, when he talks about the “ hammer” 🔨 using it on something ? As if a “ something “ and a “ someone” are interchangeable. Gilgo beach is really secluded, definitely kind of creepy. ( I went there I wanted to see what it was like)
As the official sponsor of the long island serial killer id say this guy has learned actions have consequences. What this guy did 12-15 years ago doesn’t reflect who he is today and he would like to ask the court for time served, let’s all go home and reflect on this he says. He also says he didn’t do it.
omg prostitution is not a career. i's what women are forced to do when they have no other option. to call it a career lets us off the hook for helping women get out of prostitution.
100% agree. The rebranding of prostitution as “sex work” and therefore valid work, a career path, has had pernicious effect. Whatever terms were used, the fact that we are at such a point where news commentators refer to prostitution as a “dangerous career choice” before such a press conference is… bleak
Ed Kemper referred to his serial killing as a career. He’s quoted asking the interviewers “how else would you refer to it?” Paraphrasing. In this way, high end call girls may have made a lucrative career choice. The street workers still choose the means for income, no matter their motivation. It’s still working for money. No? Not all are trafficked. One would assume they are desperate. Dangerous.
Actually, some women, particularly those who work in "high class" sex work enjoy it. There are so many women who've spoken out about it. It's not all about being forced into it by poverty and drugs.
A career isn't inherently positive. It's something you do for a long time that's your "career" in that field. Someone can have multiple careers in life. You're not understanding the word you can't complain that people are using it wrong

"Persuader" is a common enough term for a hammer. "Hand me that 5-pound persuader"

Sorry, I have read Jung and think he was a real nut job. I'm a psychology junkie, with degrees to prove it.

I am subscribed but sorry I missed your live. You have great insights.
Thanks for the insight!
I love time lines. Really helps with comprehension.
Thx Dr V
“..Quote-Unquote ‘make a living’…” uhhh. Is he arguing that sex workers somehow are …not making a living?? lol I hate that guy.
Massapequa might be Nassau County ; Gilgo might be Suffolk because this official is speaking from Suffolk County.
I thought he only did it when his wife was out of town...he kinda like the Green River???
You’re “ He’s sick” is trumped by the witness ( RIP) , who described him to the police as “ a 6’4” Ogre “ ….

Suffolk police have notoriously been one of if not the most corrupt force in the NYC and surrounding areas.

Man the first guy speaking at the conference is using alot of "uh, uh, uh" filler words, send someone who can talk without choking?

IKR 😼 these “ guys” discussing women in the sex trade like it was a legal aid or cosmetology career or something. 😱🤯
