I absolutely love how happy and excited Marisa Tomei is, sitting next to a Hollywood legend like Shirley Temple, and cheering and grinning with excitement as much as the audience is when Shirley gets her mention! Amazing moment, the look of delight on Marisa's face is wonderful!
This year was my favorite Oscar show and I haven't really watched a lot since. What I loved the most was the tribute to Shirley Temple by the audience. I wish I was there. Her contribution to the nation during the Great Depression can never be overstated.
Awesome [4:45 - 4:57] "Shirley Temple, STAND UP & CHEER" and the audience goes wild! She looks radiantly overwhelmed by the reaction. Love how even Marisa Tomei joins in the response.
without a doubt, one of the (if not thee) greatest moment in oscar show history. peck, temple, lemmon, deniro, rainer, bancroft, poitier, nicholson, cher, connery, caine and redgrave...wow!!!!!!!!!!
Vincent Winter passed away later that year, from a heart attack, two months shy of his 51st birthday. Like many child actors, he had difficulty making the transition to adult roles, so following his final film appearance as a teenager, he decided to work behind the camera. He worked as an assistant director, production manager, and unit manager in film on television in both the UK and America. RIP.
the crowd went absolutely nuts when Shirley Temple was announced...and she was overwhelmed! Where's the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award for this lady?
It was already recorded with the announcing so when you see Jack Nicholson they only announce his Oscar wins for Cuckoos Nest and Terms of Endearment and yet he just won for "As Good as it Gets" so that is why he is the only one actually holding an Oscar and of course he waves it at the camera. A nice Jack moment.

The applause for Gregory Peck was almost as big as the applause for Shirley Temple. Both giants.

Teresa Wright as "Charlie", A Shadow of A Doubt and so much more. What an honor to see this remarkable, peaceful, gracious artist.

Well done! Shirley Temple and Gregory Peck got the biggest rounds of applause and well deserved!
Let's not forget Harold Russell, who is the only actor to receive 2 Oscar®s for the same role in "The Best Years of Our Lives".
WHY don't they do this every year!!!! Honor all of those still with us!!!
Lost two more from this group this week. Rest in Peace Maximilian Schell and Shirley Temple.

RIP Luise Rainer, first person to win two consecutive oscars. Died on December 2014 at the age of 104.
