I paid $4100 for that car in March of 1968, except that it was a 350 Cu In Small Block (handled far better). Wonder what this one sold for....

Do you have a copy of the original build sheet? 1968 Camaros are pretty much impossible to authenticate trim level without original build sheet or original numbers matching drivetrain.

Not heater vents. It’s called Astro ventilation. If your lucky enough you’ll see Astro ventilation etched on the glass briefly in 68. Big dollar rare glass.

I bought a 68 Camaro in 82? ish 2500 bucks, turned out to be a SS/RS titled as a sport coupe, it came from CA. I know now that it was stolen at some time. It had the SS tail lights you know, clear inside and red outers and RS back up lights under the bumper also had the RS hideaway head light bracket's on the core support. Also had the SS gas cap with the SS emblems removed. Four leaf springs on the 12 bolt rear end 3.31 gears ,180 mph at 7000 rev's . Close ratio borgwarner Super T10 tran's. Four piston calipers on the front. Gauges in the console, factory tack ect. Powered by a vette 327 370hp factory engine one under the fuel injection version witch was 375 hp. OK well I put some goodies in that, 11to1 forged pistons, eski cam 292 deration 475 lift , 2.02/160 stainless valves, comp brand hyd lifters, massive spring's. 64 cc heads shaved a shit load , big block high volume oil pump, torker intake, 780 double pumper, and lots of other things in that engine. sps rod bolts, tear drop rods.
    And like a fu#kin idiot I sold it😥😥😥

The black taillight panel is wrong too. The black should follow the seam and go all the way to the trunk seal. Wrong shifter knob too.

Without paperwork theres no way to tell on a 68 if its its actually a ss or rs or a z 28. For some reason gm didn't put it on the cowl tag. And this information cones from experience

I've never seen anyone say what they want for a car they are trying to sell. I guess you just take offers.

The ones I build will. People complain about Rochester's because they're too stupid to figure them out. They are the best and trouble free 4 barrel made.

@@kennydemartini2169 yep, IMO the only drawback is the fuel bowl volume, you definitely have to have a good fuel pump.

Help me out with the nose stripe. That looks like my 67 i bought out of the showroom. I thought 68s came down to about the SS emblem & turned back ending behind the rear door ? Or am i all wrong !

In 1968 you could get them either way. I think that most of them were like you said though.
