So….as soon as Madison moved in, MIL Magically FORGOT how to Clean, Do HER Laundry, Cook or even Care for Herself??? Hmmm, maybe she needs to be put in a Senior Care Facility if she’s that far gone. 😂 Edit: that was a twist…and such a Sad ending.
To bad it had to come to that. My parents did ok, I being the oldest of 3. They were to strict with me. That was both good and bad. I’ve lived in Australia for nearly 20 years now. (Married a Australian) Haven’t been home, but Skype my family. My dad recently passed. I’d give anything to go hunting and fishing one more time with him. I always though super man was invincible.
imho, the only things the son should've been feeling guilty about is having not made a joint effort to make it crystal clear about boundaries with new living situation and obtaining an emotional and psychological check up for his mom. i believe the mom died from spitefulness.
She probably refused to eat. That, combined with the other days that she refused to eat given her DIL was out of the house (and MIL WAS capable of caring for herself) caused her heart to give out. The son has no reason to feel guilty at all. This was on the MIL completely.

Wife had one right idea. If someone throws out food you cook, refuse to ever cook for them again. Food is too expensive for that.
