That’s crazy the way you learned cats need just as much attention as dogs but it’s still true you’d still have to walk them and pick up their poop and pee from the litter box and of course to play with them but aside from that stuff plus feeding and giving them water I’m sure it would become so much fun to have a kitten running around the place
@@Joey-u5p yeah I think because cats are so much more independent it makes it harder to know if you've given them everything that they need, compared to a dog
cats looking out a window is what some people call "cat tv" and it's part of the stimulus they need to have a happy life. There's even whole youtube channels dedicated to "cat tv"
My brother & nephew recently gave me a cat and her kitten, because two of mom's litter mates were killed on the state highway. I haven't had a cat in decades, and the ones I had as a kid were barn cats. So thanks for this information.
I'm a first time cat owner, and adopted 2 kittens (brothers) in the spring. My biggest challenge with them is how they have become such picky eaters! Is that a problem you've had? (If not, please let me know what you feed him!)
no so I'm very lucky, he eats basically any cat food I buy him, I've only noticed he is picky with the treats. I buy him a mix of dry and wet, so I give him royal canin urinary s/o wet food and iams sterilised dry food. Both of which are chicken flavour. But sometimes if that's out of stock I have bought him pro plan tagine flavour wet food and I buy him some "soups" from pro plan too
There is no right or wrong answer to having cats inside or out. We let our cat out because we live in a house in a quiet suburb within a safe distance of any main roads. If we lived in a flat, we would 100% keep our cat indoors.
@@CaptainHowdy-mw9vc Thank you, that makes me feel so much less guilty! I know for a fact my cat would get injured out in the wild world 🤣 he's just an air head like me
its inhumane to not cut their nails because they can grow into themselves, it is crucial to cut your cat's nails. Outdoor cats also live a shorter life, indoor cats can have just as much fun and probably even more by getting a hunting simulator or getting the "hunting experience" or chasing something around like they would be able to do outside. Please do your own research! Learn from a lot of people and NEVER listen to just one person including your vet! This woman covers pretty much everything but she words some stuff as if it's optional.
Just got an 8-week old tortie on impulse. Holy crap- most consequential impulse purchase ever! 😅 Agreed with all your points
You have a Flame Point Siemese cat I have one as well and adopted him from the local shelter
@@battery_solar_ev thank you! They do look very similar. 🤩🤩

that's so cool! yeah I've dedicated many window sills just for him to ensure he has the space to chill there

no worries. It's all a learning process as each cat is so different. Enjoy the journey! Let me know how it goes
