    That was fun to watch! By the way, I have a Jeep and had an unusual problem with Xpel. I had a partial hood removed just a couple weeks after application due to a scratch that I caused (doh). It was done by a local expert who has added and removed PPF from my other cars before. The Xpel came off the important surfaces with no problem at all. But just under the hood, where it was wrapped, it pulled a fair amount of paint off too. Looked to me like it pulled the paint of the primer. It is not on the rolled edge that has the exposed clear coat paint, so no way at all that the repair shows. Since it is really not visible, I filled in the gaps with touchup paint, waited a few days, and they reapplied Xpel to the hood. You need to take a flashlight and really look hard under the hood to see the repair.
    Ever see anything like this? Not sure if I should do anything else or just wait and see. (I noticed that in some newer cars and trucks they are just priming under the hood anyway.

    Hey you guys are awesome! You make it look easy. I've been doing PPF for about 6 years now and your knowledge has helped me many times. I had a Rubicon 392 today and man your technique helped alot. Thanks guys! Keep up the amazing work.

    I really appreciate the time and detail spent on explaining your techniques. If you happen to have a 2020-2022 Shelby GT500 come through the shop, I would very much appreciate seeing how you tackle that full front kit. I struggle with these!

    Awesome video. Thank you for the videos! Are you using Reaction or Ultra? What slip solution and ratio are you using?

      We’re using Reaction. Our 3 gall keg’s have 1/2 oz of Joy Ultra soap for slip.

    Any reason Why you didnt remove the 4 hex bolts and ppfed the under side??? I think it would hold the ppf and cut down the install time in half

    • @PaintProtectionFilmAcademy
      @PaintProtectionFilmAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Doing this would break the paint and most likely chip the paint in the bolts.
      Also the expansion and contraction of the metal would move the film creating a bubble around the bracket

    Ron what are your thoughts on using a gel slip?

      In some case it’s a great tool. I’m not a fan of the cleanup or the fact that it can stain plastic trim pieces.

      The customer was fine with them being covered. We let it sit in the sun for a bit. Then pressed the edges and used an insulin needle to help evacuate remaining air and moisture

    7:55 How do u know u r not going to blade panel?

    • @PaintProtectionFilmAcademy
      @PaintProtectionFilmAcademy  ปีที่แล้ว

      It takes practice. Always snapping a fresh blade, controlling the amount of force and just the feel of it. We also try and cut off the car or in panel gaps as much as possible
