    I had a friend give me a collection of Petite Princess as well but they were VERY beat up unfortunately. I was so happy to see how well these had been preserved and learn about all the little accessories that were supposed to be with them! How fun! Thanks for sharing, Whitney!❤

      I was thrilled to find that most of the pieces were in great shape. Shocking that this spent so much time stored in the garage and stayed so lovely. Living is CA has a few perks cause in many places the heat never gets to the TEXAS insanity and it helps preserve these tiny treasures.

    Not being able to see it really well, the blue pitcher with the lady on the front, looks like it may be soap stone. Soap stone feels like a plastic resin ceramic kinda mixture almost 'soapy'. It feels weird to me LOL. The wooden vases you sid felt rough inside look like polished bamboo. It was a common material to use in the tourist trade because it was plentiful and easy to work with. Those and much of the accessories you showed at the beginning, really look a lot like tourist pieces from Europe and Asia maybe from around the 40's pre-war. The smashed chair looks like pewter and, like you, I'm fairly certain it's German. That wannan absolutely incredible haul!! First the pretty princess!!! WOW!!!😍 And then mid century modern dust collectors!! 🥰 Love it!! Almost forgot! Sometimes the yellowing that appears in random spots is from body oils and acids on the fingers. It can wick onto the imitation satin when being handled. It can happen with paper and paintings too, and thats why museum currators and some collectors wear those white, poly blend gloves when handling the items. Hopefully, some of the superfluous random bits of knowledge I've picked up and retained over the years will be of some use 🤷‍♀️. That was a really cool haul!!

      thank you so so much for this information. There is so much to know and learn and I certainly appreciate any help I can get! I had wondered if hand oils made a difference, and I also wondered if it was related to smoking in the house, although these did not have a smoke smell. So I'm thinking you are absolutely right! I'm going to lookin into the polished bamboo, someone else mentioned taung nut carving or vegetable ivory. I'm sure with all the great direction I'll get to the bottom of it! Thank you again for your information, means so much to me!

    Wow! I didn’t know Petite Princess made so many wonderful items. I still have the piano from childhood but its leg is broken. The red oval rug is a vintage Barbie, Suzy Goose rug. Back in the day when they made houses, like Petite Princess house, they were out of vinyl covered cardboard. My Barbie cases were made in the same way. I used to have a vinyl troll house as a kid. Now, Zoltar has a gypsy wife! LOL

She told my mother in law to give this stuff for me to sell as she knows that I make a living that way. What a blessing! The only thing she wants are pictures of the items I keep in a pretty room box, so I am working on that!

    That’s are a treasure trove of Princess Petite! My sister and I had the Princess Petite house and furnishings thanks my sweet grandma. As a child I LOVED the bedroom set, perfume bottles and the TV! To this little “ country girl” it all seemed so luxurious! Sadly, we no longer have the house or any pieces as we passed it all on many years ago to another family. I’d like to think it’s still out there being enjoyed by young children!
    Your other miniatures were fun to see too. Enjoy the rest of the week. Thanks for sharing! Kathleen

      @WhitneyLaBrie  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yes I agree. I felt the same way about the furniture when I first saw it, I thought it was so luxurious. I didn't know about it until I was an adult and I have slowly been collecting the items. I still do not have the tv and I am always on the hunt. They have them on eBay but the run about $100 or more and I just can't bring myself to pay that much...hope you have a great week too!

    Hi Whitney, nice haul! The white/black fabric piece is actually woven with that pattern, I believe. Very nice piece. The first group of mystery items might be tauga nut carvings. Tauga is sometimes called vegetable ivory and it comes from South America, I believe. The two Asian-looking vases appear to be cloisonne and are probably Japanese. The blue vase with the raised white figure is meant to copy Wedgwood jasperware. I think your guesses were pretty much spot on for the rest. Great to see these treasures; thanks for sharing!

    I think the little clay pot may say cariño which is a Spanish endearment meaning something like dear. It looks like there may be a little mark (tilda) over the n. If so, the pots may be Mexican or from some other Spanish speaking country in the Americas. The metal figure with a stork looks like an Egyptian tin soldier. The English Wade buildings were highly collectable 40 or 50 years ago. There was a huge range available. The little picture frame from Paris may be silver. Worth testing anyway. Hoping something in this may be useful to you.

    At 34:10,that’s a cute imitation of Wedgewood jasperware.
    You can test what it’s made of by heating up a pin and pressing it onto the bottom,if it smells like burning plastic,then it’s exactly that.
    But it’s really nice!

    The blue pitcher with white kneeling lady on it, it is unglazed bisque. It is made to look like Wedgewood but probably is a Japanese copy. The older wood looking couple are made from a composite called Sirocco. The thin roundish milkglass pot is very old English Bristol glass. The dried flowers in the glass dome bottle was a pendant at one time. The heavy pot metal metal piece is probably part of an antique lamp. The bent patio chair is actually a lead rocking chair by Adrian Cook, it is c 1890s.
