A great remix of an equally great song .
Thank you very much Steve! I agree, great song by an unforgettable band!
Who feels Japan where so underrated
Latest generations simply don't know them
The inspiration they all drew from..
Me I do compared to today's crap.
Brilliant remix it’s a great to hear a remix of this classic track from Japan many thanks for this post 👍😁🍺🤘🕺🍻🏴🙏😎🇬🇧🎧
Thank you very much for listening!
Refreshing! An upbeat version. Keep up the good works.
Thanks!
Brilliant remix of a great song! But there is a part @0m25s that has been driving me crazy trying to place the source. I finally figured out it’s from the ABC track "That Was Then But This Is Now” (from about 2m23s on the version from the CD "Absolutely: Best of ABC”). Great mix!
Thanks! Yes, sometimes I have fun using material from other songs I love and this is the case. In another remix of Japan, Night In Tokyo, I used a guitar riff from Killing Joke's Love Like Blood 😃
Wow! Another fantastic mix I've just discovered! May I ask again for a link to a HQ audio copy? Your work will certainly work well on the dark dance floor!
Certainly, with great pleasure. Just have the patience to wait because I have to open the project and convert it. In the meantime, listen if you like this :

@@matt_one Thank you again so much. I'm really impressed by your work!
@@falloutdjsteve Thanks a lot to you!
@@matt_one A suggestion if you aren't already aware: TBBM is a channel on TH-cam that specializes in creating videos for independent remixes and mashups. They do a great job of combining new images with existing band footage that is carefully synced to the audio track. A collaboration with their channel using your tracks would be awesome in my opinion and would certainly bring additional recognition to your work. Here's a link if you've not seen their channel before:

wonderful ❤👍
Thanks!
Fantastic album.
I agree, "Nightporter" and "My New Career" are my favorites.
Original and very good remix. Keep it coming !
Thanks! 😃👋
This is awesome, gutsy and rocking which adds to the icy cool of the original. I like it. A lot!
Thank you very much!
Have you noticed that, compared to the original, I changed the root note of the chords? This happens on the third note of the verse, in the first note of the chorus and the second note of the bridge.... That's not a mistake, the reason is that I wanted to make something slightly different than the original, while maintaining the overall mood.
It would have been pointless to make my version identical to the original. Of course, the original still is the best version possible (but "Quiet Life" is better) 😃
@@matt_one I definitely noticed that the vocal had been tweaked and sounds different, but it really works and gives this version a new richness. I cannot even imagine the complexity of process you need to go through to create these gems 💎
I didn't touch the vocals, but is the bass note that has changed. Sometimes good material is already available, like the initial sequence that come from "Quiet Life" and I used throughout the entire track. Another sequence in the chorus come from "Sound Of Thunder" by Duran Duran. The distorted guitars are from "That Was Then But This Is Now" by ABC😄. I kept some background sound from the original Japan's song, then added drums, some synths, the bassline (which has not the complexity of Mick Karn's bassline, of course). The original artists made the magic, mine is only plundering... 🤣
Anyway, thanks for your appreciation!
@@matt_one that is an extraordinary tapestry of sequences, what a project to subvert those sources and create something fresh and unique. The art of recycling!
Exactly, that's recycling! Thanks again!
Loving what you did with this. Like the new bass and arpeggios!
Thanks! I tried to play the bass with my keyboard in the style of John Taylor (Duran Duran). The arpeggios are from Japan's "Quiet Life" in the verse and Duran Duran's "Sound Of Thunder" in the chorus.
@@matt_one Yes, I could tell by the drum pattern of Quiet Life. I now hear the Sound Of Thunder.
I missed this one! I’m such a bad subscriber, fan and friend! 😉😆 But I do love the energy flowing from this!!! Well done.
Thanks! This was made on request, someone asked me to make it some weeks ago. Still don’t know if he's satisfied with it.🤔
It, good To have You Tube,, Shafer MTB 😢 3:29
Fab remix of one of my favorite songs ever. Please feel free to remix any of my bands songs.....Adventure Set.....we are on Bandcamp.
Thanks a lot Ken! I'm listening to Adventure Set's music and I really like it! I love 80s music and your modern synth pop fits well into the genre. Also, your voice reminds me Martin Fry's voice, which I really love! So far I've listened to Gazebo EP, Nirvana's cover is amazing and I particularly like Cellophane. I see that Adventure Set's adventure began long ago! There are a lot of song to listen to, you're not beginners like me.... Thanks again for your appreciation!
Edit: I've listened to Four Song EP from 1985..... MASTERPIECE! (especially "Great White Way").
I was 19 in 1985 and listening to a lot of music like Lotus Eaters, China Crisis, Talk Talk, Industry, Icehouse.....
This would have been a non-stop listening for me!
Excellent i enjoyed this!
Thanks a lot!
