I believe the reason why the finish deck takes more power than the tough cut deck, is because the finish deck has lift to the blades, whereas the tough cut doesn’t. Also, the finish deck (at least the side discharge ) has to move all the clippings to the one side of the deck instead of dropping it where it’s cut.
I’ve never though about the high lift blades! Yes working it all the way over to the discharge side could definitely be a factor. I wonder if the tip speed is more on the finish mower also? I’m gonna have to read into this now lol
Easy to tell that the operator is accustomed to other tractors and mowers. Going up and down the slope instead of across. Nothing wrong with doing that at all mind you, just with a ventrac it's not as much of a concern at least when fitted with the double wheel kit. But it's good practice anyway, no sense in giving a false impression to anyone that wouldn't think harder than what they saw someone else do. Although, like many videos prove well. Slopes can be deceptively steep. Heck had a similar experience at my work, a back corner looks like a gentle rise. In reality it's steep enough you nearly have to be touching the ground with your hands to climb it without sliding.
I got a mount hanging from the roof to for a go pro. This was a last minute idea 😎! There will definitely be more to come. I can do some of him just doing finishing mowing also. My dad is the man person who runs the ventrac. Keeps him off his knees
Although the client may not have requested it, is the grass long enough to bale later, after it dries? I know that’s done on farms but probably not near rural roads.
