Thanks for your helpful videos. I am just learning to play the piano and until my skills improve I am exploring using Scaler 2 . It is really a powerful program that will do many of the things you showed in this video. I got it working in Mainstage tonight.
Awesome Bill that's great to hear Scaler looks like a really interesting plugin especially if you want to get started in music production but haven't being playing piano long! God Bless keep doing what you're doing! :)
@@pianoproductions9059 Hi again Ben ... there are several plugins that do similar things as Scaler does but from my research Scaler seems to be the most versatile. As you said ... it is intended for music production. I can’t find much information on using it live but I don’t see any reason why it can’t be used to play backing chords. On another topic, I was trying to donate so that I can download some of your patches. I am reluctant to enter my credit card info anywhere on the web so it looks like my other option is to set up Google Pay. Also, there seems to be several download links (in some of the videos and on your website) and I wasn’t sure if they all contained different patches or other resources.
Hi Bill, If it's working in logic i wouldn't see any reason why it wouldn't work with mainstage as they are the same architecture . , That's very kind essentially it's one link to download everything I've made on the channel I recently decided to offer the donation option rather than just put on a massive paywall on loads of resources God Bless! :)
Thanks for the video, quite helpful. Could these work for auto-accompaniment? I would like to control chord progressions by holding the chords in my left hand and then solo along with my right hand on the piano.
Hello wondering how would I do an arp or chord trigger for Stevie Wonder Superstition? I gotta play this song for a group and wouldn’t want to play the section the whole time… thanks
Hey Josh that's a great question! Personally I wouldn't. I have tried many years ago but i find that it just doesn't work that well. Unless your drummer has a rock solid timing without a click and doesn't deviate from the tempo you decide at the start of the song then you'll probably run in to trouble. But for me there are a few possible solutions to playing with a drummer without a click: Play the arps manually (but can require quite high skill level) Add a tap tempo button to your mainstage template and you can adjust the tempo through the song! Overall I'd avoid arps without a click as out of time arps are high risk and could really kill a song! :) Hope this makes sense don't hesitate to query anything.
@@pianoproductions9059 I've been using your '30 free sounds for piano layering' which works great. And then I use chord triggers to layer strings synth organ and some of your other sounds. And that means I can still use piano in right hand
Awesome I have definitely tried that style of programming/playing it's quite a good compromise between traditional piano and full on synth programming isn't it! glad that those FREE sounds are helping too :)
wow thank you
Cheers Sid glad it helped! :)
