I appreciate your video for the lack of loud, obnoxious music and/or antics as well as your calm, serious demeanor.
I will say that the use of the stone scares the bageezus out of me 😂

I've been doing the block prep in a very similar way as you do. I use a lapping plate from Ed at Ficm Repair, to keep my stone true. I too haven't had comebacks on 6.0 head gaskets. I like to get the glow plug harnesses installed before torque dowm. Especially if doing a 18 to 20mm conversion/upgrading to newer style hpop.

Awesome videos! Are you still planning to a reassembly video? My heads are at the machine shop currently and I would love to be able to reference your videos to get everything back together.

I would be happy to make one! I’m currently waiting on a bunch of powder coated parts for it and then I’ll jump back on making a video on re assembly!

@atomic diesel Thanks for doing your videos. I just started watching them because I'm taking two of my 6.0s apart, and my 550 is leaking a heavy amount of oil after it runs and I don't know if that was the oil cooler or the heads. I got both. I'm replacing the oil cooler right now but the motors in the truck so I'd rather not do the head gaskets if I don't have to. I also got a black diamond. Malle head gasket set. I'm wondering if it's leaking from that high pressure oil pump area where you put that gray silicone because my dad bought this new in '07 and I doubt they did that stock? Another question is can't I just reuse my 6.0 pushrods if I do pull the heads? You mentioned 6.4 rods?

Thank you for watching! And yes definitely don’t reuse the pushrods, once you mill the heads the stock ones are too long.

Would you still use that stone on a deck block to get rid of the witness marks?
