- Chris Evans and Cuban actress Ana De Armas sit down to discuss their new film ‘Knives Out’ starring an ensemble cast of Hollywood royalty. The two went on to discuss the pressures of social media and how they don’t necessarily have it all figured out, but they make an effort to give people a slice of their lives.

@@cinnamon.5772 actually I study body language as a hobby, and the emotions she conveyed in this (from what we could see) were slight contempt (which can be indicative of pride, superiority, or inferiority, in this case most likely one of the first two). This is evidenced by the slight upturning of the right side of her lips at 0:06. She also exhibited a tiny bit of fear at 0:20 with slight stress to the lower lip corners on both sides, and by the raised eyebrows and open eyelids throughout the interview; although in this case that fear was likely caused by just a little bit of nervousness since she was interviewing a major celebrity that was exhibiting flirtatious behavior.
It's possible she may have been feeling disgust, as she has very little screen time in this interview, but there were no visible tangible clues to suggest that.
From what little we could see here though, it could be argued that she did not reciprocate the attraction, as evidenced by her crossing her legs. Of course, that may also be because she didn't want to accidentally reveal too much to the cameras, so because of this context, we can't draw any conclusions on that aspect.

Hi, could you please tell me your opinion. I don't find it offensive, since besides selling their acting, actors sell foremost their faces, and they must maintain a good name. I would find it a compliment to know I would have a brand to maintain. However this is expression we are accustomed to in my home country,- Brazil, and others may find it offensive, which I respect.
@@littlegirl-lc8lh They sell their acting in the movies and the press tour for movies. Some people prefer being able to separate their personal and professional lives. Branding is more for companies and people who get famous for making their personal lives public via reality tv or social media.

Krystal Potter ok Krystal. First of all, he scoffed. He purposely tried to make her feel embarrassed by asking that question and that is spiteful. Secondly, I never said he should “shut up”. Third, your attitude is astounding. Because you have a massive crush on Chris Evans and are hell bent on defending his grumpy demeanour and lack of manners, you’re now being rude to try and defend him. That’s just completely counterproductive. At some point , you have to differentiate between a fantasy and the reality that a person is displaying and he was displaying disrespectful behaviour here. I think it’s the accent that makes her seems like she is critical, but from what I’ve gathered about her, she seems to be a very goal-oriented woman. She is driven to make it in Hollywood for one reason or another as a Latin woman.
Actors having their own ‘brand’ and honing that image and brand on social media is a very real thing people do and have to do and this is just further confirmation that Chris Hates that aspects of being a successful actor, the fame the game the fakeness, and also the trying to get ahead based off playing the circuit and not talent alone. It’s endearing and why I love him, he’s a no bullshit real down to earth guy.

I really like Chris and his humble every-man approach to Hollywood but I'm also lowkey convinced I'd end up wanting to punch him in real life for nitpicking at shit like the world 'brand' 😂He knows what she meant. Do you think her question was offensive? I am from Brazil, and it is normal for journalists to talk to celebrities about their "brand". They understand their job is to sell their acting, but also their faces, their images, and they must maintain a good name. I did not find it offensive, however every person is different.
daiana oliveira Aww youre sweet! It seems that he understood it as using social media to create a certain image and thus he got annoyed because there is a certain fakeness involved doing that. And for him it isnt like that. He isnt using it to create his own brand but out of genuineness. I guess he became touchy about it as well because people will always “brand” him as Captain America when there is more to him as an actor. In my opinion, it was a good question and his reaction truly tells something. Seems like he is so over these kind of interviews and press junkets and he just totally wants to take a break or something.

daiana oliveira Chris is so funny to me...I understand he doesn’t want to be portrayed as fake in any capacity. But he is a brand unfortunately for him lol...his name is the Brand and his face is the image of his brand. Being any sort of entertainer especially mainstream ones are automatically brands and that’s how they can “sell” a movie or product. I think 🤔 this is the mercurial side of him that changes with the wind talking. Because I’m pretty sure he knows this. He’s touchy cuz it’s probably just tiring for him to do this job and that’s completely understandable but he loves acting so that’s the catch 22.🤷🏾♂️
@dalana oliveira To answer your first question, I don't think he found it offensive, just tired and very lame. It's a bad term to use when talking about a person. It's one of the many BS terms that have cropped up (like influencer) since social media took off. They are not a brand, they are people, just like everyone else. The only difference is that a big spotlight is constantly on them.
I disagree that it is their job to sell their acting, image or whatever. It is their job to act and do as good a job as they can, a side-line of that being that they 'promote' or 'sell' the movie. The studios sell the actors image and presence in that movie but not the actor themselves.
Maintaining a good name is great but people should be doing that anyway. Chris has done that, he always seems polite and courteous and his kid's charity stuff is amazing.
Nina C. gave a good answer to the whole 'brand' thing. It's not real, it's creating a fake illusion of how you want to be seen, not how you really are. From what I've seen of Chris, that's the complete opposite of how he is and who he wants to be. To me, it actually shows how out of touch with reality the interviewer is for even asking him that. If 'brand' is what she prioritises as her first question then she has some big social media issues and she needs a heavy dose of real life.

@@ariela_ The perception that actors are just a brand-as in they are not their own people;usually most celebs social media accounts are managed by sb else.It was an assumption she made that actors can't really function without social media.Evans doesn't even have Instagram so she didn't research properly.

Oddly, I think it was the right question, whether she wanted his response or not it was insightful to see someone of his stature address branding. It was a perfects question because you have famous people who don't think like him, thus giving a different answer

Worddd she comes off to me as a determined woman and I love it! I find myself a giggling mess with guys I find attractive, i can’t imagine in an interview with two famous, gorgeous people. She’s not rude in any way but she knows what she wants and doesn’t act silly about it.

“Brand” in the terms of Hollywood typically implies an air of fakeness, a lack of authenticity, especially in how you represent yourself and beliefs. It doesn’t necessarily mean people think you are a terrible person or anything, but it usually means that you are keeping up a wall in order to retain fame and remain in a positive light to the media and fans. Celebrities probably get this question many times so I probably would get a bit upset too.
She knew her audience wearing those boots to an Evans interview. He couldn't take his eyes off her until she used the word "brand" and his head exploded. :D

chris is normally pleasant to interview even during his off days during the heaps of repetitive marvel press junkets or any other press work, and i'm not the first to blame him for maybe feeling out of it once in awhile cause you quickly get desensitized after all that. but for this particular one i'd say he was maybe way a little off with his nitpicking of "brand" cause hes clearly intelligent and perceptive enough to know thats not what the interviewer meant

I totally get his stance on the “brand” thing. I feel like too many people are worried about they way they are perceived, and not enough on who they are and their beliefs. The whole TH-camr, influencer things is toxic sometimes and that goes along with “brand.”
