Your hair keeps looking curlier! So pretty. Your channel is the least stressful to watch for me. I love how simple you keep your routine and that it's not confusing. Great tips on frizz
Hi!! I have the same curl pattern and had the same problem, the only products that could control frizz weighed my hair down and made it lose its definition. Lately I've been loving jojoba oil, it reduces frizz and since it's a super light oil doesn't weight my hair (it actually gives it more volume). It may also work for you. You could also try flax seed gel.
Dear Curly Susie I am so delighted you rescued that beautiful kitty. Kitty will give you so much joy, comfort, solace and healing. Looking beautiful! God bless you xxx
Hey Susie! I'm brand new to the curly girl method (just did my last sulfate wash yesterday) and have been binge-watching yours and India Batson's videos for the last week or so. Just wanted to say thanks for the tips! Have been struggling a bit with frizz in my super thick hair that takes forever to dry, but it was really helpful when you mentioned in this video that your hair will look more frizzy as its drying. It's helped me resist the temptation to touch it when it's drying. Thanks, Susie!
Wish there was a way to give this more than 1 thumbs up. Can't wait till tomorrow to try this. New to curly hair,, new to curly girl, and you are rocking the info on your videos! Pointing others towards you and TCGM. You Rock!
Sweet little Lois! I live in SW Florida, a total curly nightmare! There's a point where we just accept a little halo every day because you just can't escape the humidity. Lots of love to you and your family Susie.
East central FL here. You are so right about accepting the halo, especially July through September! I’m pretty much in a baseball cap in the summer if the halo becomes too unmanageable!
Curlygirljj I’m coastal Mississippi same problem! What products do you use/love and do you increase ‘hold’ in summer months? I have been here 5 years (originally from pa) and my hair HATES me for fighting my natural texture LOL and would refuse to stay straight anyway in this humid climate. Would love tips!
Oh my gosh, LOIS! So sweet. Congrats on your new kitty! Your channel is so soothing... I am working diligently on finding out what works for my hair and your channel has been indispensable! Thank you so much! 💕
Excellent tips! I've been on a Susie marathon and loving your videos! Now...your baby🐈..an angel! Soft, fragrant, loving, caring, sensitive..cats are angels🐾🐈💕
Thanks so much for these great tips! I just started this natural method and dealing with a lot of frizz! I don't have all the products I need yet, but working on it. Thanks so much for this tutorial. Your hair is beautiful!
Thank you for showing that cute little set! My young daughters are curly girls (I’m not) so I’ve been watching your channel for tips on how to manage their hair. Thank you!!
From a fellow curly Canadian girl - thank you! I've been binge watching your videos since I first came across them last week. My challenge - having to wear a hat when I go out on cold Ottawa mornings. My hair looks fabulous when I leave the house, but by the time I get to work - not so much. I suspect a lot has to do with the products I'm using... So, I'm going to keep experimenting and watching your videos!
Lois is adorable and I'm sending loads of love to you from the Oregon Coast. I know this month has just been the worst, so just know I admire your strength. XOXO
Ha ha! Actually youtube has changed... so even a thumbs down counts as activity and that is still helpful to her. She not only learns what we like or don't like, but gets credit for interaction in the comment section! I adore her though.... she's so genuine!
I just want people’s honest feedback & in a way, saying this has reduced the amount of silly hate comments I used to get because people can tell that it doesn’t bother me :) Thanks for watching.
Sweet kitty so glad you rescued her! I touch my hair all the time eek but mine is more wavy curly and I’m having flat hair issues. Thanks for the video love them
Lois is ADORABLE!!!! A tortoiseshell I named Peaches adopted me - showed up at my door and made my home her’s. May you enjoy her as much as I enjoy your videos!!! My hair has literally been a hot mess between summer and post surgery so between the frizz and the hair fall it’s driving me nuts. Your tips are GOLD! Gonna try this tomorrow!! Can you maybe do a video on shedding?
Hi Susie! You look fantastic today! I just wanted to give a heads up to you on flour sack towels, I started using them about a year and a half ago and I like them so much better than microfiber and they are way cheaper! I get a set of four at target for around five dollars! You should check them out, they really greatly reduce frizz, I have hair similar to yours!
Thanks especially for the last tip. I'm just starting Curly Girl and mid way through my hair being dry I noticed frizz. So I watched your You Tube video! awesome!
Yes! Best tips ever! I find leaving the bathroom door open and not letting it get steamy really does help! I'm all for the cool showers too, yes, better for skin as well! I can't plop to save my life..lol..just haven't mastered it..I'll barely wrap my hair in a turbin just to dry the bod off and let it out, put my product in then scrunch and then scrunch with a 100 percent cotton flour sack towel which are also fabulous. Thank you!
Great tips! Also...I love the way you say "turban." I love the way you say everything, actually. I live in the southeastern US so, while I encounter frizz year round, it's especially obnoxious during summer (which is basically the end of April to mid-October here). I avoid sugar-alcohol humectants (glycerin, propylene glycol, sorbitol, honey, etc.) and protect my hair but spot treating frizz is always going to be a thing for me. Thanks for your great videos. :)
Lots of great tips! I’ve been trying to rinse with cool water, but I cannot stand being in the shower (at least for the first few minutes) in less than hot water. I know it’s bad for my skin, I just need the mildly scalding heat at first haha. My hair always gets frizzy when it’s halfway dry and I end up putting in some more moisturizer- but I’m gonna try just leaving it alone and see if it resolves itself. Also love the kitty! So cute!!! Would love to see him more!
Another great one, Susie, and personally very timely. Trying to stay "curly while camping" has been a challenge and the frizz fix will be tried tomorrow! Thanks and it's good to see your beautiful smile. Little Lois is darling~
Hoping your method helps my frizz issue! I get the frizz Halo on day 2+ and it's annoying. Whatever I end up doing always creates more frizz or leaves my hair undefined :(
Hey you are looking better I hope you feel better. I was just thinking how I’m going to get rid of all this frizz and you happened to make this. You read my mind. My hair looks 2b/2c now been a month on this and trying to keep going. Transitioning is very hard. Thank you for your videos. P.s is almost imposible for me to avoid touching my hair lol.
Hi Susie! Totally love Lois! Can't wait to see some footage of Wilson playing with her. You might try keeping the printed side of the t-shirt away from your hair when you plop. Prints don't absorb water very well. Your hair is looking so healthy! Great job! Jen
Hello from Alberta! I adore u! I have been binge watching u. So now Im 3 days into the frizzy mess I call curls. I went shopping on my lunch hour to stock up on ur recommendations. Sallys had 1 bottle of gel left..with a "trending" sticker on the shelf lable. Lol it has to be because of ur videos!
Thanks Susie I have found this very helpful I'm 8 weeks into the cg method and I have very fine medium density hair that's been really frizzy, by the way your kitty is adorable glad you've rescued the cute little thing just what you need after all you've been through take care love Wendy xx
Thank you so much for sharing this technique! I never would have thought of it. After rocking a frizz halo all day today, I gave it a try. It works great!
Totally gonna try and reduce the heat I use in the shower! Thanks for the tips! Can’t wait to try them tomorrow morning, South Florida humidity is no joke!
I needed this video! Thanks so much for making this. And I love that you use as few products as possible, I'm the same and love that I don't need to buy more to try this.
This video has come at a good time. I have tried different ways to control my frizz with no success. I thought i had to live with frzz but i will certainly be trying the oil with my conditioner and see how that goes.
This was so great Susie! The only thing I didn’t see was the link for the satin pillow case! I’m in the market for one and looked on amazon but feel overwhelmed by the options so I’ll just order the one you got 😂 thanks again for being a TH-camr and sharing your curly girl tips 💖
I am so late here, but wow. Yes. I have been sick & last night let hair air dry & didn’t even use hardly any product. Didn’t rake my leave in into hair I just squeezed it on. Best hair day yet. And I knew it was going to be so bad bc it was frizzing when it was drying. I don’t even have a cast & I prefer this look to the gel cast.
Lois is adorable. My main issue is in not touching my hair until it's dry. How do you get out of the shower and make it look manageable and unruly say, if you're headed to church.
Thank you for these tips, I get frizz all the time and it is annoying! I use a microfiber towel, air dry my hair and I still get frizz. I notice since I just stared using conditioner on wash days, it has helped some
Thank you so much for this. I have been looking for this. As long as I prevent frizz, my hair looks great but when I have frizz I can never get it how I want.
i love how she says i have a little bit of frizz (hair looks gorg-)lol i washed my hair yesterday and looked really cute, got out of bed this morning and men it was more frizz than hair lol
Thanks Susie, for the great tips. I'm so looking forward to giving the spot treatment a try. As you may remember I'm not that far into the curly girl method & I've been having a really big problem with frizz. Cute kitty & ♥️ your videos. Hugs from Illinois.
Susie! The Shea moisture and Black Castor oil is awesome. I tried it based on this video and it gives me great curls. I have to go to Sally's because my castor oil doesn't smell like lavender but has a natural wood smell. ☹️ Btw love Lois she's a cutie
I need to try the oil and conditioner trick. The trick my stylist gave me for frizz, especially day 2 frizz, doesn’t work for me very well. Im not totally happy with my hair unless it’s wash day. It doesn’t refresh very well😞. Your kitty is adorable!!
Hey Susie! I loved your video! Those were some really great tips! Thank you!! :) I have one question, though, if you're reading this... What do you do for already existing breakage? I have a few bad spots in my hair that don't want to cooperate as well as the other hair, and it's frustrating! It seems like no matter what I do, these spots dry frizzy/semi-course/separated-looking. To describe what I mean by separated-looking, these strands of hair do not dry smooth, shiny and clinging together like the rest of my hair. It does just the opposite! Do you have any advice and/or videos on how to fix this problem? I would really appreciate any help! Thanks again, and keep rocking your beautiful curls, sista!! 😍
Some wonderful and oh so simple tips. Yes, I've got a KUKU oil Spray and it definitely seems to make my hair frizzier. Why is that? Susie reminds of Gizelle Bunchen.
Lois looks very much like the Dilute Tortie kitty I used to have. My daughter named her Cloudy. I have been using that Shea Moisture leave - in, and I love it. I need to get some of that Black Jamaican Castor Oil. It's been on my list for a while. I am guilty of touching my hair while it's drying. Bad Jan. :)
Hi Susie have recently been following your videos and love them. It's a minefield sifting through ingredients! The Jamaican black castor oil leave in conditioner has 2 sorts of alcohol...stearyl and cetyl! Are these alcohols ok to use when trying to cut out sulphate parabens and alcohol?😂 It is confusing 😁
I'll have to try that JBCO/leave-in trick! I happen to have that exact brand but I have a different flavouring. I usually use it on my roots before wash and go days.
Hi Susie, so glad you're back with curly hair tutorials; and congratulations on all the subscribers👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Here's whats happening to me; I tried applying coconut oil to my hair a month ago and now no matter how many times I wash my hair the oil residue its still there. My hair feels coarse and dry and now it is so so hard to detangle it ....even in the shower with tons of conditioner. Do you have any recommendations. Thank you💞
I just tried coconut oil too and felt so coated. Then a rice water treatment gave me a protein overload freakout! What I did was work in just a little filtered jojoba oil which I use for my skin, and it doesn’t solidify like coconut. Then did a double wash with the Shea JBCO shampoo Susie used a few weeks ago in a video, using very warm water. Then a deep conditioning treatment on damp hair with heat applied. It was more or less back to normal. If you don’t have jojoba, any lighter oil should do like grape seed. And keep away from protein products til you get the coconut out.
Ah, that happened to me once a couple of years ago, long before I went CG. Turns out, the oil was expired, and it just wouldn't leave my hair no matter how many times I washed it. I ended up going to the salon and having them wash it out over a couple of days. Damaged my hair horribly, never went back to coconut oil since then. I'd rather have it in my conditioner. Oils won't suit everyone, and then also, not all types of oil will suit all types of hair. I generally stay away from oils now because I've had too many bad experiences with them in my hair, but I've heard argan oil really works for some people. Castor oil is another highly sought after oil. Me though? I'm going to stick to CG. Perhaps in the future I might try an oil blend again. I hear the Righteous Roots RX oil is really good.
Your hair looks really nice and curly indeed, I agree with the other comments. I'm not there yet though, I'm only 4 months into the transitioning, and my hair is more wavy with axlot of straight that just doesn't want to curl at all. The title drew my attention because I've got a lot of that halo frizz going on, on top of my hair, and I really hate that. But I'm already doing al those steps you mentioned, no brushing no using towels, the satin pillow case etc...doing them all. So what I'm going to take from this is I'm really going to try out your tip about the leave-in conditioner and oil. I'm excited to try that out next time. Funny thing: on one of your other videos you had the SMJBCO shampoo, and I've got the exact same one. And now you had the SMJBCO leave-in conditioner. So funny I've got that one too! Lol! Have you tried the deep conditioner from that same line? I love it, it's my favorite deep conditioner so far... (its also the only one I've used since I started the CG method ) but my hair seems to love it.
Oh and one thing I wanted to ask you. Do you normally use a leave-in conditioner? Do you use a regular conditioner, one or the other or both? What would you recommend? I'm a bit confused as to which is better to use. Or if one should use both?
Susie I pure love your videos ♥️ you are so real and down to earth and awesome !!! And your curls are gorgeous ♥️ and that kitty ☺️ sending so much love from Newfoundland !!
Your hair keeps looking curlier! So pretty. Your channel is the least stressful to watch for me. I love how simple you keep your routine and that it's not confusing. Great tips on frizz
jay hulrs well said! I get overwhelmed by some of the others, but I feel like I can do it with Susie’s instructions
These suggestions are great, Susie. I'm getting some very good results.
I'm only 2 months into the curly girl routine for my 2a to 3a hair. Frizz has been my main problem. Thank you 😊.
2a-3a?? That's a lot of curl type in one head how do you manage it??
@@janna7843 not very well lol. Every section of my head is a different curl type.
I get frizz in the exact same places as you. Not even an exaggeration. Thank you for this video. I NEEDED it.
I use satin gloves to scrunch out the crunch. No frizz!
PS. God bless you for rescuing!! 😘
What a great idea!!
Lynn M oooooooooooooh where did you find them
Cute kitty. Congratulations! Thanks for rescuing her.
Dear Curly Susie I am so delighted you rescued that beautiful kitty. Kitty will give you so much joy, comfort, solace and healing. Looking beautiful! God bless you xxx

Hi Olivia!! ThNk you so much for watching. I promise the frizz will get better. It’s a process for sure.

The way she explains things is unbelievable! Thank you so much for all your advice about curly hair. You have saved my hair! Gracias.
Frankly, I could listen to your accent all day...but I'm even more delighted to listen to tips to fight the frizz! Love your sweet 🐱!
That is the cutest name for a kitten! So adorable!
I like how she doesn’t beg for likes on her videos and is ok with a thumbs down. Ppl get too hung up on negative feed back. She doesn’t
You are by far my favorite curly girl you tuber. So simple, but very effective advice. Thank you!
Thanks so much for these great tips! I just started this natural method and dealing with a lot of frizz! I don't have all the products I need yet, but working on it. Thanks so much for this tutorial. Your hair is beautiful!
I hope you’re feeling better ❤️❤️❤️ I’m glad you’re still making videos for us. You are one of my favorite curly girls.
Thank you for the info on the halo frizz...I will have to buy the pillowcase soon and learn to stop messing with my hair until it is dry... 😂
One of my favourite curly girl TH-camr and you may have topped my list with that precious kitty :)
Thank you for showing that cute little set! My young daughters are curly girls (I’m not) so I’ve been watching your channel for tips on how to manage their hair. Thank you!!

Lois is adorable!!! Congrats on the new kitty!! 🐱
Susie, you are the cutest! Didn’t anyone in TH-cam school ever tell you never to tell people to give a thumbs down? Haha
Ha ha! Actually youtube has changed... so even a thumbs down counts as activity and that is still helpful to her. She not only learns what we like or don't like, but gets credit for interaction in the comment section! I adore her though.... she's so genuine!
I like it. Real
I think it adds follower loyalty, because she is so open and genuine. Love this channel.
I just want people’s honest feedback & in a way, saying this has reduced the amount of silly hate comments I used to get because people can tell that it doesn’t bother me :)
Thanks for watching.
Sweet kitty so glad you rescued her! I touch my hair all the time eek but mine is more wavy curly and I’m having flat hair issues. Thanks for the video love them

Hi Susie! You look fantastic today! I'm in Alabama and the humidity can be wicked...but since I started CGM, my frizzies seem to have disappeared... except for the halo...

I think the only reason I don’t touch my hair is because 1/2 the time I’m too busy/pre occupied 🤦🏻♀️
Curly Susie I’m going back to work next month ( I’m on maternity leave ) I hope that keep me away from it. :)
Hi Susie! Totally love Lois! Can't wait to see some footage of Wilson playing with her. You might try keeping the printed side of the t-shirt away from your hair when you plop. Prints don't absorb water very well. Your hair is looking so healthy! Great job! Jen

Thank you so much for sharing this technique! I never would have thought of it. After rocking a frizz halo all day today, I gave it a try. It works great!
My hair is super frizzy with a month I to the curly girl routine. I really needed this, thank you so much!!
Just tried this and it WORKS! THANK YOU!
Totally gonna try and reduce the heat I use in the shower! Thanks for the tips! Can’t wait to try them tomorrow morning, South Florida humidity is no joke!

Your videos are the best!!!! One of my new favourite TH-camrs! 💗 I didn't even think of spot treating my frizz!
Love Lois!! Congrats!! And I totally needed this video for frizz! Have a great weekend!!
So pleased to see you back Susie - I’ve missed your beautiful smile. X
Hello kitty!! Such a beautiful kitty. Glad you guys were able to find such a sweet kitten. ☺️
Great tips for frizz, can’t wait to try it!
I need to learn to keep my hands out of my hair. I have way to much fizz for my liking.
Loving your videos.
Thank you
This video has come at a good time. I have tried different ways to control my frizz with no success. I thought i had to live with frzz but i will certainly be trying the oil with my conditioner and see how that goes.

Love your videos thanks. Just what I needed in the Dallas area humidity. Something I've been really struggling with. Love your new kitteh so adorable.
Your Kitty is so adorable :). I love that leave in! I also use the styling lotion as lotions-creams work better for me than gel.
Lois!
Yes! This is my biggest struggle in my curly hair journey. And Lois is so cute!
You are amazing! So delighted to see your smile again! Thank you for the vid content as well 😉
Love the video Susie, really helpful and just what I needed. What a cute kitty. Love your curls 😍 much love xx
Lois is adorable. My main issue is in not touching my hair until it's dry. How do you get out of the shower and make it look manageable and unruly say, if you're headed to church.
I love the name choice for kitty!
Very helpful!! I've been dealing with a lot of frizz lately.
Great advice. Love the kitty. You’re still in my prayers.
Thank you Susie! You are the best! And thank you for rescuing a kitty!
I love her
Great tips in this video Susie. Lois is adorable!
You're absolutely gorgeous! I'm sad to see the sadness in your eyes. Hugs to you my Canadian friend!🤗
i love how she says i have a little bit of frizz (hair looks gorg-)lol i washed my hair yesterday and looked really cute, got out of bed this morning and men it was more frizz than hair lol
Another awesome video Susie! Loved waking up to see this video and you ☺️❤️
Thanks for the tips! I'm so new to the CGM and your videos have been a great help.
Thanks Susie, for the great tips. I'm so looking forward to giving the spot treatment a try. As you may remember I'm not that far into the curly girl method & I've been having a really big problem with frizz. Cute kitty & ♥️ your videos. Hugs from Illinois.

Really helpful and simple steps! Thank you for sharing! 💗
Thanks for the tips on spot treating frizz! I’m going to be trying that 😊
Thank you so much Susie! I messaged you on Instagram asking this exact question and now I know what to do - thank you! You are the best Xx
This worked like a charm, thank you so much!!!
Your plopping shirt is hilarious! Hope you are feeling as good as you look Susie xoxox
Great video Susie...a lot of helpful tips. I love Lois. Thank u
Beautiful lady and beautiful kitty!!! Hair looks spectacular as always 🌹 😊
Awe!!! Lois the kitty!

Some wonderful and oh so simple tips. Yes, I've got a KUKU oil Spray and it definitely seems to make my hair frizzier. Why is that? Susie reminds of Gizelle Bunchen.
Love the Kelly Kapowski t-shirt!
Thank you for sharing these great tips
Can you try doing the fermented rice water treatment? ❤
I’ve used the rice water treatment twice now & I love it.
Are these alcohols ok to use when trying to cut out sulphate parabens and alcohol?😂
It is confusing 😁
I'll have to try that JBCO/leave-in trick! I happen to have that exact brand but I have a different flavouring. I usually use it on my roots before wash and go days.
Hi Susie, so glad you're back with curly hair tutorials; and congratulations on all the subscribers👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Here's whats happening to me; I tried applying coconut oil to my hair a month ago and now no matter how many times I wash my hair the oil residue its still there.

Thank you so much! I will try it 👍🏻
Bonnie Abadi Seems counterintuitive but I think the oil broke up the heavier oil.
We love Lois and her mommie too.
Love your videos! Have your tried scrunching the crunch out with a silk scarf? Amazing 👏👏👏
Sounds awesome! Does it damage the silk? Just wondering if I could use a pillowcase and use it again later.
So is it safe to say that Anne of Geen Gables had this exact accent? -- asking for a friend. ;-)
Love your videos btw!
New to your channel and just binge watching a bunch of videos. Could you do a fav products video please!
